Today (July 26), the Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs is holding a hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). Titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Implications on National Security, Public Safety, and Government Transparency” it will hear firsthand accounts of UAPs. The hearing is chaired by Anna Luna, a members of Congress.
Tim Burchett and Anna Luna have been leading the oversight committee’s investigation into UAPs. The aim of this hearing is to assess the federal government’s “transparency and accountability” regarding UAPs and their possible threats to U.S. national security. The three witnesses who will be testifying at the hearing are Davis Fravor, a former Navy commander, David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence officer, and Ryan Graves, the executive director of Americans for Safe Aerospace.
Who is Anna Luna?
Anna Luna is a member of Congress who is currently serving her first term as the Representative for Florida’s Thirteenth Congressional District.
She is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, Young Republicans Caucus, and the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus.
Luna is the first Mexican-American woman elected to the United States Congress to represent Florida.
As we know,she serves on the Natural Resources and Oversight and Accountability Committees.
She was in the military
Luna joined the military at a young age in order to “leave behind the life of America’s low-income, inner-city communities”, she explains on her website.
It was during this time that she met her husband,Andy Gamberzky. Gamberzky is a bronze star recipient who earned a Purple Heart when he was shot at by enemy combatants in Afghanistan.
Luna currently lives in St. Petersburg with her husband.
What has she said about the UFO hearing?
Congresswoman Luna is chairing the hearing on UAPs and has been leading the investigation into UAPs with Tim Burchett.
Luna said: “The status quo on the part of the U.S. government has been to leave the American public in the dark regarding information about UAPs, refuse to answer questions posed by whistleblowers, avoid the concerns Americans have about the possible threats UAPs pose to our national security and public safety, and default to extreme and unnecessary over-classification.”
She continued on to say that the last few months have taught her that this is an issue “that matters to Americans”.
“It also impacts the transparency and accountability our government is supposed to grant to the people who it serves,” she said, explaining that she looks forward to bringing this topic to light.
