She would see the sister offer her brother help all the time, but not utter a word around the OP. Their son was born and the sister-in-law always offered to take care of him when the couple wanted to take time off the parenting duties.
The infant would spend the night with his aunt and she was an amazing one too. The OP appreciated her help at first as her husband and she needed the break sometimes. But things took a turn when the kid turned 3.
Sister’s strange behavior toward her brother enrages the OP
Once B turned 3, The OP’s sister-in-law started to only invite her brother over and never asked his wife to tag along with him.
The OP’s husband found his sister’s behavior strange and brought it to his wife’s attention. But she brushed it off as nothing. But when his sister invited him again, he refused to go without his wife and this didn’t sit well with his sibling.
She started blowing up his own phone and told him he didn’t have to bring his wife with him everywhere as they needed to bond as brother and sister. Her husband blocked his sister and waited for her to calm down.
But the sister started calling the OP next and showed up at their home within an hour along with her parents. She went on and on about being her brother’s priority over his wife.
The OP didn’t take anything her sister-in-law said to heart until she mentioned her son B. The sister said: “I’m the mother that B will never have because you’re here. I will love him more than you could and I love H more than you ever could.”
While the husband flared up, the OP took a swing at her sister-in-law. the impact from the punch caused her nose to crack. Her father-in-law took her side by her mother-in-law justified her daughter’s inappropriate feelings toward her brother as “overprotectivceness.”
