His 21-year-old girlfriend apparently came up with “ridiculous” rules for when their baby was born and she also never got along with his mother.
She told him she didn’t want anyone in the delivery room with her except him and her mom. The OP didn’t like the thought of his mother missing the first moments of his baby.
The girlfriend was specific about not letting anyone touch the baby without washing their hands or kissing it. The OP found her demands unreasonable.
She said she didn’t want any visitors immediately after the baby was born and the boyfriend felt it was a jab at his mom who wanted to be with her first grandchild.
The OP felt his partner was trying to attack his mom at every chance.
Boyfriend supports his mother
The girlfriend went into labor and the OP drove her to the hospital where they met her mother. The Reddit user decided to bring his mother to the delivery room as his girlfriend was yet to have active contractions.
She obviously didn’t want to see his mother against her will, which resulted in his mother being physically removed from the room.
When the girlfriend went into labor, the OP wanted to bring his mother to witness the birth of the child. But his partner made sure he and his mother both stayed out of the room and he never got to be a part of his child’s birth.
He went to see the baby soon after it was born and he brought his mother with him. The grandmother planted a kiss on the baby’s cheek which quickly enraged his girlfriend.
She was furious at what his mother did and the husband let it happen despite being aware of his partner’s rules which she was vocal about.

Reddit users have argued in favor of the girlfriend and supported her opinion about pregnant women having the final say in some matters with regard to who can be a part of the childbirth.
One said: “She could have chosen to be in there totally alone, you have zero right to choose what happens in there. She is the patient. We like to think of.”
“Me as the dad I did not allow anyone to even be in the same room as my children. No one in the delivery room besides husband and her mom,” said another.
