The Tom Hanks & Timotheé Chalamet Movie That’s Too Weird To Be Real

Thankfully, we’re still in the phase where AI is easy to spot, but that doesn’t make the «Uncle Bus» trailer any less horrifying. Tom Hanks has his smile turned up to 9,000 and hasn’t looked this dead-eyed since «Polar Express,» while the not-quite star of «Dune» constantly shifts and looks less human as the preview plays out.

Since its release, viewers have understandably chimed in on whether «Uncle Bus» would be worth a watch. @southern.socialist’s analysis was that «Sometimes I think AI can create art because there’s no way a human could ever conceive of this,» while @badger500.795477 said, «This is a realistic prequel to the movie ‘Cars.’» Of course, others pushed the bus out even further by making casting suggestions for the competition, with @EyePatch Films saying, «Only if Nic Cage is the devil in this.» A genius choice? Certainly, but it might be topped thanks to @Ryansalright, who threw out, «Can the devil be revealed in the 3rd act to be David S. Pumpkins?» referring to Hanks’ «Saturday Night Live» character. Well, if Hanks is going to be a bus, Mr. Pumpkins being the head honcho of Hell wouldn’t be that hard, right?
