Internet users are talking about the controversial TikTok by HR recruiter Tammy Sepetis who went by the name ‘Tammy and Twins’ on the platform and some are wondering if she was fired after posting the video that went viral last year.
Every now and then TikTok users revisit an old viral video. A few internet users post the video again on popular social media platforms and that soon reignites a conversation on the topic. The same has happened with a video posted by HR Recruiter Tammy Sepetis last year. The industry professional who went by the name Tammy and Twins on TikTok posted a profanity-laden video calling out those who post their personal beliefs online.
Who is Tammy Sepetis?
Tammy Sepetis is the HR recruiter who went viral on the internet last year. Tammy posted a TikTok that caused a massive social media uproar. The HR professional has since deleted all her social media accounts including Linkedin. However, a snapshot of her LinkedIn shows she served as a Human Resources Professional at Boehringer Ingelheim and resided in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Her account further states she’s a Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL), a Certified Joint Health and Safety Committee Representative, and has Workplace Investigation Certification. Tammy has also been registered with the Human Resources Professionals Association since June 2006.
After Tammy’s video went viral, the German Pharmaceutical company responded to it via a tweet. In their tweet, they called Tammy their “former Canadian contractor” implying she was no longer working at their firm. The company even stated, “She has not provided services for our family-owned company since 2019.” They further noted that Tammy’s behavior does not represent their “company values.”
It’s unknown what Tammy Sepetis has been up to at present and whether or not she has been fired from a job due to her TikTok. However, several internet users are keen to know what consequences she faced due to her video.
What did Tammy and Twins say in her TikTok?
Around late May-early June in 2022 Tammy posted a TikTok that caused a furor on social media. Although she has deleted her Tammy and Twins TikTok since the video is still present on all major platforms.
In the viral video, Tammy goes on a rant about people posting their personal opinions on contentious topics online. She warns how it can stand in the way of people landing a job and those who have one can also lose it. “Some friendly HR advice,” she captions the video.
“You’re all loud and proud with your big thoughts and your big ideas,” she says referring to fellow internet users. She goes on about how the HR community is really small. “So if you’re looking for a job or may be trying to keep a job, think about what you are putting on social media,” she says with a mocking expression and tone. She calls those who post their opinions online “freedom fighters.”
She claims it’s a fact that “recruiters talk and that recruiters like the majority of Canada do not agree with you.”
“You wanna be an a**hole, we document it” she claims before explaining how an employee can get fired for their social media posts. She further says that recruiters are watching and that they have the power. She ends the video by hurling expletives.
