A musician named Nomi Abadi was the first to allege that she suffered sexual abuse at the hands of Danny Elfman. Abadi first brought claims of indecent exposure and sexual harassment to the LAPD in 2017, and the following year, they agreed to a settlement. However, in July of 2023, Abadi’s story made headlines after she sued Elfman for missing payments to which he had agreed per their settlement.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, after Jane Doe XX found out about Abadi’s lawsuit, she contacted Abadi’s attorney Jeff Anderson. «The similarities are so striking,» he recounted her telling him. «Around the same age, both aspiring in the entertainment industry, looking to him as a powerful mentor and trusting him and not in a position to recognize that they were each being used and abused.»
Rolling Stone — which first broke the news of Abadi’s lawsuit — reports that Anderson is now representing Jane Doe XX as a client too.
