Snapchat has a new notification that shows when people half swipe your messages and it’s really easy to turn on – but it comes at a price.

How to turn on half swipe notifications on Snapchat
- Subscribe to Snapchat Plus
- Click on your Bitmoji to go to your profile
- Tap the ‘Settings’ cog in the top right
- Scroll down to ‘Peek a Peek’
- Move the slider to the green ‘On’ position
Now an eyes emoji will appear next to the person’s name when they are half swiping your message.
How to subscribe to Snapchat Plus
To see when others are peeking, you have to subscribe to Snapchat’s Plus membership. It costs $3.99/£3.99 per month and gives you exclusive, experimental and pre-release features.
- Go to your profile
- Tap the Snapchat+ banner card at the top
- Choose a subscription and pay
- Restart the Snapchat app
If you don’t see the Snapchat+ card, you may need to dismiss all other banner cards on your profile first.
