Instagram users report new ‘hype comment’ feature but no-one knows how to use it

Hype comments are generally described as any phrase or message that is written to promote or publicize a topic positively. Previously, Instagram gave you the option to comment on posts. Now, with the new feature, it would be possible for people to leave their thoughts on your story as well.

Keep in mind that these messages can be viewed by anyone who sees your story. The change comes over a year after the social media platform introduced likes to stories.

If you are someone who is not thrilled about the new feature, you always have the option of turning it off on your settings.

The new feature started rolling out

On December 5, several people took to Twitter to reveal they had been getting notifications about a new feature called ‘hype comment.’ However, as of now, Instagram has not confirmed anything.

It looks like a couple of people from around the world have got access to the new update. This does not come as a surprise as Instagram usually tends to roll out new features in installments.

With this in mind, the new feature might be introduced in the new update. Until then, users will just have to wait.

Other features to try

Instagram is often coming up with new updates to ensure that the users have the best experience. Here are some of the other features that you can try:

1. Music for carousel posts: To do so, click on the plus button on the app. Click on the carousel icon and then select all the photos that you want. Once you reach the editing screen, you can select the song that you want.
2. Reels templates: Click on the plus button and select ‘Reels’ from the list. Then select ‘Templates’ to view suggestions.
3. AI stickers: Select the person you want to send a message to. Click on the plus icon at the bottom and select Stickers. Enter the text prompt for the image you want and the AI will display the sticker.
