TikTok’s verification puzzle isn’t working for some users

A significant number of TikTok users, as of Tuesday, December 19, are finding it difficult to log in to their accounts as the verification puzzle isn’t working.

Several users have complained that the puzzle, which allows you to access your profile once you complete it, is asking them to verify multiple times. It fails with each attempt even if you get it right.

“Is anybody else having issues with TikTok.? Like I can’t log in to any of my accounts in the app. It keeps giving me a verification thing,” said one user.

“TikTok won’t let me get past the verification circle. I have done it eight times. Shut up TikTok,” said another frustrated user.

The puzzle appears in the form of two circles, which need to be adjusted using the drag option to form a complete picture. It is as easy as it sounds, but at the time of writing, it is not working, even though TikTok users are beating their brains out to get past it.

App isn’t letting people switch their accounts either

Users are also struggling to switch between accounts on TikTok. Every time they try, they are being met with an error message that reads: “Something went wrong. Try again later.”

Those who got logged out of their accounts aren’t able to log back in via any of their profiles as the app is said to be restricting users from accessing it.

One user posted: “Me running to Twitter to check if everyone else’s TikTok is down and not letting them switch their accounts to log back in.”

“Why is TikTok not letting me switch accounts? That app tests my patience every day,” wrote another.

TikTok hasn’t addressed either of the issues at the time of writing. Going by the posts on Twitter, the problem seems to be widespread as most users have been affected.

Why does TikTok ask you to verify?

TikTok may ask its users to complete the verification puzzle when they are trying to log in from a new device or a third-party website. This is to safeguard your account from hackers and bots that could potentially extract personal information.

When the verification puzzle is affected by a technical issue, users can get locked out of their accounts.

Users can try a few potential fixes such as ensuring they’re using the latest version of the app, re-installing the app, and making sure they have uninterrupted Internet connectivity.

If all of the above are not an issue on your end, all you can do is wait for TikTok to rectify the issue.
