«Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2» concludes on something of a cliffhanger. The Starkiller clone defeats Darth Vader in a showdown on Kamino, and the Sith Lord is taken into Rebel custody. He’s placed aboard the Rogue Shadow, where Starkiller, Juno Eclipse (Nathalie Cox), and Proxy (David W. Collins) transport him across the stars — with the bounty hunter Boba Fett (Dee Bradley Baker) in tow. This is where the story of Starkiller concludes, seeing as the «Force Unleashed» games have been removed from the official «Star Wars» canon, and a third game never came to fruition. However, Sam Witwer has discussed where Starkiller’s story could’ve gone had the game series continued.

In May 2020, during an appearance on IGN’s Work from Home Theater, Witwer outlined a notable story point in Starkiller’s future beyond «The Force Unleashed 2.» The actor claimed to have discussed another battle between Starkiller and Vader with the minds behind the «Force Unleashed» saga. «At some point, there would be a confrontation where Starkiller’s fighting Vader and everything that worked before is not working now,» he said, revealing that at long last, Vader would’ve gotten the upper hand against his former apprentice, reminding him why he’s the Dark Lord of the Sith and revealing that he was merely toying with him during their previous duels.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever get to see this Vader-Starkiller battle or any further developments to the original «Force Unleashed» continuity or the story of the clone of Galen Marek. Thus, fans of the character can only hope that Starkiller returns to the «Star Wars» canon in one way or another in the coming years.

Over the years, it hasn’t been uncommon for «Star Wars» actors to share their love for the franchise publicly. However, Sir Alec Guinness was in another category entirely. Throughout his post-«Star Wars» life, he made it abundantly clear on multiple occasions that he wasn’t a big fan, famously telling his friend Anne Kaufman about his uncertainty and frustration toward George Lucas’ passion project. «Fairy-tale rubbish but could be interesting perhaps,» he wrote of the original film in one letter (via Business Insider)

Once Guinness signed his lavish contract and filming on «Star Wars» began, he once again wrote to Kaufman to complain about the production. «New rubbish dialogue reaches me every other day on wadges of pink paper – and none of it makes my character clear or even bearable. I just think, thankfully, of the lovely bread, which will help me keep going until next April,» he said. Still, Guinness’ feelings on «Star Wars» weren’t all bad. Even though he seemed to find making the film miserable, he commended the feature on the Parkinson talk show. «A marvelous healthy innocence. Great pace, wonderful to look at, full of guts, nothing unpleasant.»

Regardless of his feelings about the franchise, the facts remain that Alec Guinness is a «Star Wars» legend, and his initial contract resulted in one of the most remarkable paydays in Hollywood history up to that point.

In the rather hit-or-miss 20th Century Studios «X-Men» saga, «Logan» is arguably its crowning achievement. It’s raw, emotional, and provides the perfect sendoff for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who stood as the franchise’s anchor since its creation. Thus, it’s fair to worry that touching on the film’s events via «Deadpool 3» could be detrimental to its legacy, but it doesn’t seem such worries are founded. Some of the minds behind the threequel have discussed director James Mangold’s 2017 instant classic, and they don’t seem eager to ruin its story or reputation.

First and foremost are Ryan Reynolds and Jackman, who confirmed in an Instagram video that «Deadpool 3» won’t tarnish Logan’s noble sacrifice. «Logan dies in ‘Logan.’ Not touching that,» said Reynolds, with Jackman nodding in agreement. Additionally, «Deadpool 3» director Shawn Levy expressed his admiration and respect for «Logan» while talking about the Merc With a Mouth’s next feature. He told BroBible, «‘Logan’ is canon. We love ‘Logan.’ That happened. I want the world to know, as the producer and director, all of us share a deep love and respect for ‘Logan,’ every aspect of how it’s crafted, and all the events that take place.»

With all of that said, it’ll be interesting to see if and how «Logan» is implemented into «Deadpool 3» when the movie opens on July 26, 2024.

«What If…?» Season 2 also has two honorable mentions for Thanos’ death count. «What If… Iron Man Crashed Into the Grandmaster?» ends with Gamora (Cynthia McWilliams) attacking her father figure, but the story ends before we see if the Melt Stick works. «What If… Hela Found the Ten Rings?» shows Hela (Cate Blanchett) and Wenwu (Feodor Chin) making their way toward the genocidal maniac, where they would presumably kill him to bring about peace. With so many powerful deities shown through the Marvel Multiverse, perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising that Thanos has met his doom numerous times outside the main timeline. And to be fair, the supervillain’s been killed frequently within the pages of Marvel Comics as well.

Many Marvel Comics characters have bested Thanos, including Drax in the «Annihilation» storyline, written by Keith Griffin with art by Andrea Divito. The creator of Thanos, Jim Starlin, crafted a story where Adam Warlock emerges victorious over the antagonist by turning him into stone for «Marvel Two-In-One Annual» #2. Even Deadpool gets a chance to beat him in «Deadpool vs. Thanos» #4. Tim Seeley wrote the story with art from Elmo Bondoc, where the Merc with a Mouth gains the power of the Enigma Force to obliterate his opponent. 

With all due respect to Thanos, many powerful characters get killed repeatedly in the comics. Ultimately, it’s just kind of cool for fans to see all the ways in which a legendary character can be defeated. Marvel’s «What If…?» series on Disney+ seems to understand this, which may be why it continually goes back to this well. Plus, future seasons of «What If…?» could get even wackier, presenting new, wilder ideas on how to kill Thanos. 

Though Auli’i Cravalho’s part in «Moana» proved to be her breakout role and is likely still her most high-profile performance, it sounds like the singer and actor has no qualms about passing the part onto someone new, especially if it gets another foot through the door.

«We are used. And I want to tell our own stories. I want to be behind the camera as much as I am in front of it,» Cravalho explained. «When I talk about representation, I want to see the same thing happening in writers’ rooms. I want to see the same thing happening with directors … And Taika Waititi talks about this as well; I wanna see showrunners who are also of indigenous descent telling their own stories.»

While Cravalho won’t be starring in the live-action «Moana» remake, as she alluded to above, she is still a part of the project. As a producer, the performer can still have a part in shaping the «Moana» remake while handing the star-making role off to another actor. «And if it has to start with me – I’m 23, but if it starts with me, so be it,» Cravalho said. «I want that door to swing wide open, and I cannot wait to meet the next Moana.»

DC obviously wants fans to understand that the new DC Universe will be different than Zack Snyder’s DCEU, because all the press surrounding «Superman: Legacy» features commentary regarding Superman’s changed temperament.

During a 2023 press conference (as reported by Yahoo!), Peter Safran said, «Superman represents truth, justice, and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned.» In addition, during a 2023 interview with IGN, James Gunn described Clark Kent by saying, «He’s a big old galoot. He is a farm boy from Kansas who is very idealistic. His greatest weakness is that he’ll never kill anybody [and] doesn’t want to hurt a living soul. And I like that sort of innate goodness about Superman as his defining characteristic.»

Considering the sheer number of movies Gunn and Safran have announced for their DC reboot, the DCU will neither rise nor fall by Superman’s hand alone, but there’s a reason that they decided to begin again with a new version of the character. Zack Snyder’s DCEU opened with a Superman project, too, and it set the tone for everything that followed. It seems as though Gunn and Safran intend to mirror that strategy, only this time with hopefully a different critical and fan reception. If all this plotting wasn’t about a guy whose whole schtick is supposed to be innate goodness, Gunn and Safran’s move would almost feel devious. And maybe it still is. As long as Superman doesn’t break any more necks, though, audiences probably won’t mind.

Considering his propensity for playing villains, fans will no doubt be excited to see Herriman’s take on Quan Chi. Movie and television viewers may recall that Damon Herriman has a history of portraying villains in shows like «Justified» and «Mindhunter.» It’s also worth noting that the performer provided the voice for Kabal in the first «Mortal Kombat» movie, so he’s already in the club to some extent.

The list of returning characters is expansive, with each of the surviving cast members from the previous «Mortal Kombat» set to return. However, the list does have some more surprising reprisals, as well. For example, Kano (Josh Lawson), Sub Zero (Joe Taslim), and Kung Lao (Max Huang) — all of whom were killed in the first film — are also set to return.

Still, being that this is a series set in a fantastic universe where warriors can return from the depths of hell and transform into massive dragons, it’s possible that there could be some elaborate explanations for their return, including Quan Chi’s necromancy. Either way, fans can no doubt expect to see more of these new characters, including the sinister demon Quan Chi, as «Mortal Kombat 2» continues to loom over the horizon.

The «Fast X» cliffhanger leaves a lot of dangling plot threads. Most of the team goes down in a plane crash, Gal Gadot’s Gisele — who hasn’t been seen since «Fast and Furious 6» — is alive and piloting a submarine for some reason, Dwayne Johnson is back in the mix as Luke Hobbs, and Jason Momoa’s flamboyant villain is about to explode a dam on top of Dom and his son. Wrapping all of that up could probably fill a movie all on its own. Adding a new villain on top of everything else is an ambitious goal, especially on a reduced budget. Plus, there’s the added pressure of the next film potentially wrapping up a saga that’s been running for over 20 years.

There’s also the matter of star and producer Vin Diesel, who was accused of sexual battery by a former assistant in December 2023. The alleged event took place in 2010, according to the lawsuit. Diesel has denied the claim.

Momoa is a scene-stealer in «Fast X» and was praised by many as the best part of the movie. Failing to capitalize on his popularity would seem like an odd choice considering he was the saving grace in many of the last movie’s fairly middling reviews. If the plan is to write out Dante and conclude the series with a more grounded story, the filmmakers could have a hard time balancing the tone, as we’ve seen these guys literally drive into space at this point. It remains to be seen how many of these rumors are true and what exactly «Fast and Furious 11» will look like.

Across both of @spanishia’s videos, the Spider-Men based on Austria, Greece, the U.K., Ukraine, Iceland, Montenegro, and Greenland, are the variants that appear most similar to Peter Parker’s typical attire. The colors and paneling might be a little different but they ultimately fall within the same vertical. One degree further away are the Spider-Men from China, Spain, Albania, Italy, Seychelles, and South Korea. These costumes add a little something extra. 

China Spider-Man wears these intricate, beautiful epaulets, while Albania Spider-Man wears a hood that appears to be made out of webbing. Seychelles Spider-Man made cutouts for his fingers and toes. Brazil Spider-Man really should fit into this category, too, but he looks so massive, like a Spider-Hulk, that he deserves special mention.

The rest of the countries — Germany, Algeria, Mozambique, Mexico, Vatican City, Finland, Egypt, Poland, Jamaica, and India — create Spider-Men with costumes that deviate even further from the familiar. Something about these heroes — if they are still indeed heroes — oozes personality. Germany Spider-Man looks straight up like a CW «Flash» villain, Mozambique Spider-Man is only recognizable as a wall-crawler because of his mask, and Vatican City Spider-Man is clearly an «Assassin’s Creed» fan.

Honestly, this last batch of Spidey variants is the coolest because each commits wholly to the conceit. Finland Spider-Man could take on Sauron with that armor, Poland Spider-Man definitely kills for sport, and Egypt Spider-Man desperately needs a cameo in «Moon Knight» Season 2. While it’s true that some variants, like India Spider-Man, prove AI needs sensitivity training to combat harmful stereotypes, most of these wall-crawlers are stylish, battle-ready, and make just as much sense as the wider, weirder Spider-Verse. 

«You have to will things into existence. I think the two things that I am closest and most interested in are ‘Highlander’ and ‘Ghost of Tsushima,’» Chad Stahelski explained. «Both amazing, amazing properties; the story of ‘Ghost’ is also one of my favorite properties of all time.»

«Ghost of Tsushima» follows a samurai named Jin Sakai, who survives a massacre by Mongolian forces on the island of Tsushima in Japan. As he sets out for revenge, he is conflicted between fighting as an honorable ronin or adapting guerrilla warfare and stealth techniques to kill his enemies before they see him.

Stahelski’s enthusiasm could double as good news for more patient gamers, especially since «Highlander» will likely be great with him at the helm (he has a strong track record as a director). Still, it means that «Ghost of Tsushima» could be as much as five years away if he stays on board. 

Previously, Stahelski has been the man behind all four John Wick films, and with two to four-year production times on those projects, it’s easy to imagine fans not seeing «Ghost of Tsushima» in theaters until at least 2027 or so. We’ll have to cross our fingers and hope the movie releases sooner rather than later.

«Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom» isn’t one of the more talked-about superhero flicks of recent memory, not to mention that it’s far from a critical favorite. This can be attributed to many factors, from general disinterest in the DC brand following failures such as «Black Adam,» «Shazam! Fury of the Gods,» and «The Flash,» to the unceremonious end of the DCEU. In the eyes of Dolph Lundgren, though, some of this disinterest and disappointment could have been mitigated had the feature’s original cut, which includes more scenes of King Nereus and Mera, made it to the silver screen.

«It was some kind of corporate decision that they try to limit Amber Heard,» Lundgren said during an interview with ComicBook.com. «I thought the original script was great and the original cut -– I saw a little bit of it, it was really good, so I didn’t see any reason to start reshooting and reshaping the story, which obviously led to disappointment in the moviegoers and not just me.» 

Perhaps now that DC fans have been alerted to an alternate cut of «The Lost Kingdom,» they’ll campaign for its release as they did for director Zack Snyder’s take on «Justice League» and director David Ayer’s still-unseen cut of «Suicide Squad.» Sadly for those who want to see it, with the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DC Universe on the way, the original cut of «Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom» most likely won’t see the light of day anytime soon — if ever.

Best known for playing the titular superhero in «Deadpool,» Ryan Reynolds may have wished he had superpowers when he had a freak skydiving accident as a teenager, experiencing the ultimate nightmare: his parachute wouldn’t open after he leaped from the plane.

«I’m falling to the ground, thinking that was great, and then I pulled my cord and … nothing,» Reynolds recalled. Despite this horrifying moment, Reynolds said he remained calm and remembered the emergency procedure to release the reserve parachute. But as the actor explained, «This may sound odd, but when you’re falling like that, you just can’t bring yourself to do it.» The actor was gripped with fear that the same thing might happen with the reserve: «I don’t want to find out if it’s going to work or not.»


Thankfully it worked, and Reynolds made it safely to the ground. «That was the point where my whole world collapsed, and the panic attack kicked in.» Reynolds’ response was extreme but entirely understandable: «I turned my entire jumpsuit into a toilet.»

As if being the youngest EGOT winner and getting all four prestigious accolades in record time wasn’t enough, Robert Lopez’s winning streak kept going. In 2010, Lopez earned a second outstanding music direction and composition Daytime Emmy for «Wonder Pets,» while he and Kristen Anderson-Lopez later nabbed an outstanding original music and lyrics Primetime Emmy for «Agatha All Along» from «WandaVision.» He was also among the winners of the outstanding short form program Children’s and Family Emmy for the Netflix animated miniseries «We The People.»

Two additional Tonys came for «The Book of Mormon» in 2012, with Lopez, Matt Stone, and Trey Parker earning statuettes for best book of a musical and best original score. He and his wife earned two Grammys for «Frozen» in 2015, for best compilation soundtrack for visual media and best song written for visual media for «Let It Go.» Three years later, the duo took home another original song Oscar for «Remember Me» from Pixar’s «Coco,» which also confirmed Lopez as the only EGOT winner to have won a competitive award in each category at least twice.

Since then, the Lopezes have worked on efforts such as «Frozen II» and their own original musical, «Up Here,» which was turned into a Hulu series in 2023. With more films, stage musicals, and TV projects no doubt ahead, it’s perhaps only a matter of time before Robert Lopez goes for the triple EGOT crown — and Kristen Anderson-Lopez nabs her first.

Ever since «The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes» hit theaters in November 2023 and told the story of the 10th Hunger Games, fans have been speculating about other stories from the history of the vicious Games. Just as a reminder, the idea behind the Hunger Games is that each district of Panem — believed to be a restructured, dystopian version of North America — sends two «tributes» to the powerful Capitol in the form of two children, and those 24 children fight to the death until one victor emerges.

Finnick meets the series protagonist, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), during the 75th anniversary of the Games, known as the third «Quarter Quell,» which means special rules are in place. (This time, only previous victors will be reaped and placed in the arena.) As fans know, Katniss’ mentor, Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), triumphed during the second Quarter Quell, which featured double the number of tributes. As for Finnick, he won his Games at the tender age of 14. Naturally, there’s some curiosity about these games.

As Francis Lawrence — who directed all of the films except the first, which was helmed by Gary Ross — told Entertainment Weekly, he’s game to make more films. «If Suzanne has another thematic idea that she feels fits into the world of Panem — whether that’s with new people [or] familiar characters [like] Finnick, Haymitch, whoever — I’d be really interested in looking at it and being a part of it,» he said. «But I don’t have any pull of just going, ‘I would love to do Finnick’s games.’ He’s a great character, but what’s the thematic underpinnings that make it worth telling and relevant?»

Given the narrative importance of Valhalla and the notable characters from Thor’s past that reside there, it’d be hard to just gloss over it in a potential «Thor 5.» It deserves proper attention and needs a good reason to crop up in the story. While the theoretical next «Thor» movie could come up with a strong reason for Valhalla and its residents to factor into the plot, ideally, that shouldn’t get in the way of everything set up at the end of «Love and Thunder.»

First and foremost, «Love and Thunder» marks a new chapter in Thor’s life as he adopts Gorr the God Butcher’s (Christian Bale) daughter, Love (India Rose Hemsworth). He’s officially a parent, and it’s up to him to guide this child into adulthood, even as he contends with the various threats he has previously taken on alone. Additionally, it’s teased that Hercules (Brett Goldstein) is hunting Thor following the God of Thunder and his allies’ embarrassment of the demigod’s father, Zeus (Russell Crowe).

Those are two major story elements that will need room to breathe and develop, especially since Love and Hercules are MCU newcomers, and hopefully, these subplots, along with one focused on Valhalla, don’t result in «Thor 5» becoming too busy for its own good. Of course, at the end of the day, a fifth «Thor» has yet to be confirmed, so it might be wise to wait on its announcement before going too wild trying to piece together what it might cover and how well.

Neve Campbell went on to say that she would definitely consider returning to the «Scream» franchise, particularly as it now doesn’t have any major stars or a director (more on that momentarily) attached. «Would I do it? There are millions of fans out there of this franchise,» Campbell told THR. «These movies mean a lot to people. They mean a lot to me. They mean a lot to [screenwriter Kevin Williamson]. They meant a lot to [original director Wes Craven]. They meant a lot to all of these cast members, and we would all love to see this franchise continue. I would hate to see it burn. So, we’ll see.»

Williamson — who penned several «Scream» installments — previously told the «Happy Horror Time» podcast he would welcome Campbell back with open arms. «I would give her the money. I’m sure there’s a number they can agree on that will make them both happy, so hopefully one day they will figure that all out.» Unfortunately for Williamson, he might not have much sway anymore: after he wrote 2011’s «Scream 4,» Williamson was not involved in the writing for either 2022’s «Scream» and 2023’s «Scream VI,» and it’s not clear at press time who is writing the seventh installment.

While speaking on «The Howard Stern Show,» Brendan Fraser said he was also called in to shoot some footage in the Superman outfit, and a few notable names joined him — including Paul Walker and perhaps a rising star who eventually played Supes in some high-profile blockbusters.

«Everyone in town was reading for Superman. We’re testing maybe six or seven guys in 2002/3,» the actor said, noting that Walker tested right before him. «They were like, you know, the usual suspects.» Fraser didn’t mention anyone else by name; however, Jason Behr, Henry Cavill, Jared Padalecki, and Michael Cassidy were reportedly also in the running at the time.

While «Superman: Flyby» was canceled, 2006’s «Superman Returns» rose from its ashes. That movie saw Brandon Routh play the titular DC hero, but it didn’t receive a follow-up. Since then, Cavill portrayed the character in the DC Extended Universe franchise, and David Corenswet is set to don the cape in James Gunn’s reboot, «Superman: Legacy.»

If you haven’t watched «The Hunger Games» in a while and were thinking that doing so now might make some of the deaths a little easier to take, then you should think again. In this case, time is not a healer, and knowing that certain characters are going to die gruesome deaths does nothing to lessen the impact of their departure.

Considering that the series is focused on a deadly competition where children are forced to fight to the death until just a single victor remains, it isn’t all that shocking that there is a lot of death in «The Hunger Games» and its sequels. Even after all this time has gone by, it can be shocking to once again see how much death and destruction there is.

Worse, though, is the fact that you can happily fall in love with these characters again and become attached to them all while knowing what fate has in store for them. This makes the entire viewing experience have a sense of dread as you are waiting for your favorites to be brutally killed off.

The Taylor Swift-Elly Conway conspiracies spiraled so much that, at a certain point, «Argylle» director Matthew Vaughn felt compelled to say something. As he told Rolling Stone, his daughter was the first person to tell him about the theory and even she insisted that the book was «secretly» written by Swift. Vaughn said that no matter how much he protested, his daughter remained totally convinced.

«There is an Elly Conway who wrote the book, but it’s not Taylor Swift,» Vaughn told the outlet. «And I say that because I imagine Taylor Swift has a load of people trying to jump on her bandwagon left, right, and center, and I don’t want to be a part of that club.»

After denying that Swift is the real author of «Argylle,» Vaughn did have to admit that Swifties did their homework when it comes to their hypotheses. «I did read the conspiracies and I was like, wow, they don’t leave a stone unturned!» he remarked. «But it’s not Taylor Swift. She definitely didn’t write the book.»
