Kurt Angle’s name has been in the headlines recently after his iconic stare became a widely shared social media meme.

Who is Kurt Angle?
The Pennsylvania-based athlete is arguably most well-known for his time in WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. After his stint in professional wrestling and winning gold at the 1996 Olympics, Kurt, now 55, moved onto the televised wrestling circuit.
Throughout his tenure at WWE, we fought and beat the likes of Edge and The Rock before moving on to Nonstop Action where he stayed until 2016. He later made a return to WWE and still pops up every now and again.
He also has a string of acting credentials including Pain & Gain, Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies, Sharknado 2: The Second One and 2015’s The Last Witch Hunter.
Where did the meme come from?
The image in question comes from a video Kurt posted back in August to introduce himself to the ever-growing world of TikTok.
In the clip, he said: “I want you guys to follow and enjoy the ride. We done? Good, I can take a nap now.”
The post garnered a massive amount of online attention, with fans noticing his wide-eyed stare and blank expression. This image has since been given a life, and meaning, of its own.
