A poster of ‘Frankie’ an Elf on the Shelf movie went viral on Facebook and had Disney Pixar fans convinced that there was an upcoming film release before the news was debunked as AI-generated.
While many Disney fans agree that an ‘Elf on the Shelf’ movie idea is genius, it turns out the popular poster with an animated French bulldog is simply the fan-made work of AI.

A poster suggesting that Disney and Pixar are releasing a film titled ‘Frankie The Elf on the Shelf’ has gone viral on Facebook.
The main character of the movie poster is an adorable animated French bulldog surrounded by classic Elf on the Shelf characters.
Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition centered around Scout Elves who fly to the North Pole each night.
While the promotional poster appears to be quite realistic, Disney Fanatic fact-checked the news and confirmed that it is simply the fan-made work of artificial intelligence (AI).
It appears as if the Frankie movie poster was created by someone online using a Disney AI palette.
The recent rise of AI has therefore made AI-generated Disney movie posters very popular. Some posters have given audiences the false impression that official Disney films are to be released however they were simply made up all along.
‘Frankie’ AI poster had Disney fans convinced on Facebook
Recently, a Facebook user with a French bulldog named Frankie, created multiple AI images of movie posters for two movies titled ‘Frankie’, many of which included The Elf on the Shelf characters.
Some of the posters soon went viral on the social media platform and some even convinced fans that these movies were soon to be produced and released by Disney/Pixar.
The Facebook post has currently reached over two thousand likes and a comment section full of praise for the AI film poster.
Disney fans wanted to watch the ‘Frankie’ an Elf on the Shelf movie
The posters seemed to trick some people on social media as a Facebook user named Anne Rowles commented: “I tried to find this movie on Disney and it wasn’t there.”
To many Disney fans’ disappointment, the posters appear to be fake and Disney and Pixar have not officially announced any movies of these titles or subjects.
Disney Fanatic also noted that fans should also not confuse these movies with being related to the book series for young readers by football professional Frank Lampard titled The Elf Express: Frankie’s Magic Football (Book 17).
Despite the names of these products having a lot in common, the book series surrounds a group of young boys who are playing a game of football on Christmas Eve in Australia.
