A heartbroken fiancé‘s post titled ‘AITA for escaping through a bathroom window’ has sparked a lot of reactions from irked Reddit users.

The Reddit story we are taking on today is indeed heartbreaking. The Reddit user was looking forward to relaxing at his family home after clocking on long hours at work one Christmas when his mother decided to play the cupid between him and his ex-fiancée.
His mother’s surprise wouldn’t have caught him off guard had she known why he and his fiancée called it quits on their relationship in the first place.
As the man explains, his fiance Sarah, cheated on him with her yoga instructor or someone. His partner’s infidelity shattered him and he was too ashamed of what she had done to tell his family the truth.
Apparently, his family thinks Sarah is too good to have done anything wrong and a heart-to-heart conversation would mend the parched relationship.
However, the thought of his cheating fiancée sitting in his family home was unbearable for the man and he wouldn’t tell the truth because it would tarnish his ex’s reputation.
He flew halfway across the world after evading the situation
When he realized he was going through the roof and that he couldn’t stand the sight of his ex-partner, the Reddit user excused himself to the bathroom. But instead of relieving himself, he managed to escape through the window.
He tied bedsheets together to support himself while climbing down two floors and went to a motel to spend a couple of nights away from home.
However, his family and friends completely shut him out for running away from the situation instead of facing it, when they were unaware of the truth.
When he was still overwhelmed by the unexpected encounter with his ex-fiance, reminding him of what went down between them, he decided to travel halfway across the world.
He was sitting by the beach and sipping on a drink while sharing the above post and fellow Reddit users couldn’t be happier for him.
Users think the man deserves all the happiness
Social media users are showering the heartbroken man with support and encouraging him to go about living his life. He’s advised to stay away from his family and friends or anybody who isn’t willing to understand his perspective.
“You should tell everyone what happened. To hell with the outcome!,” said one.
Another added: “Tell them! Even if you decide to go no contact. You did not do anything wrong.”
“Tell them what she did and remember you did nothing wrong and have nothing to be ashamed of,” wrote another.
