A sad Reddit story titled ‘AITA for not forgiving my fiancefor missing the birth of our daughter’ was shared via TikTok and has users hoping the dating dilemma ended in a breakup.
Many social media users were sent into a rage after reading the heartbreaking Reddit relationship story which resulted in a mother giving birth without her fiance present after they had an argument. A Reddit post titled ‘AITA for not forgiving my fiancefor missing the birth of our daughter’ was uploaded to the discussion website on 22 July 2020.
AITA is based on the concept of posting situations from users’ personal lives for judgment, whereby any user can make a post beginning with “AITA”, asking if they are in the wrong for what they did in a situation they were involved in.
The post was recently shared on TikTok, accompanied by a gameplay video of a virtual video game, and has since gained a lot of online attention.
The writer explains that she was around 9 months pregnant when she and her fiance, named Michael in the story, attended a gathering event with other friends.
Her partner’s female best friend, named Madison in the story, has never liked the mother for reasons unknown and drama is suddenly sparked between the three at the party.
Michael began naming his fiancee hurtful names after Madison had shown him controversial messages between her and his partner. However, Michael did not hear out his pregnant partner and instead proceeded to upset the writer.
The mother began crying at the insults and as she was leaving the situation, she felt a cramp in her lower abdomen. Despite not being due for another three weeks she was unknowingly experiencing the beginning of labor, to which Michael had told her to stop faking the pain.
On the way to her mother’s house alone, the writer soon fell into labor and drove to the hospital, without being able to contact Michael.
After two hours of pushing the mum gave birth to a baby girl named Grace Noel in the story and sadly quoted:
“Giving birth without my fiance by my side was the final straw for me.”
Michael then got in contact with his partner and later showed up at the hospital apologetically, but the writer states:
“I don’t think I can forgive him.”
Dating dilemma sends TikTok into rage
The story ends with the writer summarising the heartbreaking situation with his fiance:
“I went through the pain of pushing out an 8-pound baby by myself all because he chose to believe his best friend without listening to his fiancee.”
Asking for Reddit responses, the user poses the question:

When asked ifthe fiancé ended up in a relationship with Madison, the user states that the writer didn’t clarify this but suggests that it “seems likely.”
