It’s not surprising that Sam Raimi is the one responsible for the grossest MCU death. Before he directed the original «Spider-Man» trilogy, he was known for his trailblazing horror flicks, especially the gory «Evil Dead» franchise. Raimi previously compared «Multiverse of Madness» to «Evil Dead II,» with both projects featuring tons of horrific sequences. «Multiverse of Madness» is filled with scenes that are classically Raimi, like the idea of Doctor Strange commanding a reanimated corpse of himself.
When the director first signed onto the project, replacing Scott Derrickson, many were worried that the filmmaker wouldn’t be given full creative control to tell the insane stories he’s known for. But seeing as he gleefully murdered Black Bolt (Mount), it seems like Marvel boss Kevin Feige let Raimi loose … with certain restrictions. «[‘Multiverse of Madness’] had to follow so many things in Marvel lore, [so] even though I had complete freedom, the previous movies and where Marvel wants to go in the future really directed the path in an incredibly specific way,» Raimi told Rolling Stone, explaining how he could do whatever he wanted within certain parameters.

Actress Vanessa Hudgens felt the full fury of social media when a seemingly offhand comment made on her Instagram page generated widespread negative responses from viewers. The former «High School Musical» star went live in 2020 with comments that apparently addressed the coronavirus and news that it would remain active into the summer of that year. In her post (via YouTube/Entertainment Tonight), Hudgens said, «Even if everybody gets it — like, yeah, people are going to die. If audiences do meet the Fantastic Four in the ’60s as expected, then the blue and white costumes would be fitting to see on the big screen during their beginnings as heroes. They are instantly recognizable and have a simplicity that feels right for Marvel’s First Family. While it would be surprising to see Marvel use just body suits like in the artwork with no additional accessories for the Fantastic Four to show off, the color scheme and white and blue design choices are pitch-perfect. Hopefully, when fans finally see the Fantastic Four make their return to the silver screen, the team’s outfits live up to their considerable potential and hype.

Darth Nihilus is responsible for setting off the First Jedi Purge. In «Star Wars Tales» #24 by (Chris Avellone, Dustin Weaver, and Michael Heisler), the comic shows the Sith villain’s attack on the Mid-Rim Miraluka colony of Katarr, 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire. Sensing the Force energy of the last known members of the Jedi secretly meeting on the planet, he feasts on the world, eliminating every single living creature except for one Miralukan survivor: Visas Marr. Like her fellow Miraluka, Marr was capable of seeing Force energy despite having no eyes. Nihilus ultimately carved out where her eyes would be if she had them and let the darkness flow through her, taking her on as his apprentice.
Marr worked for Darth Nihilus, tracking down Meetra Surik, the Jedi Exile (and player character from «Knights of the Old Republic II») who tried to find the surviving Jedi Order. Unbeknownst to Nihilus, Surik teamed up alongside the former Darth Traya (now Kreia), no longer a Sith, and saw his apprentice leave the dark side of the Force. Nihilus is eventually tricked into attacking Telos IV, believing he is about to wipe out more Force users. However, a group led by Surik and Kreia snuck onto his ship and planted explosives on board, killing Nihilus and ending his hunger once and for all.

Diseño: ligereza por bandera y mucha comodidad
El diseño de los Oppo Enco Buds2 Pro destaca principalmente en 2 aspectos: unos auriculares francamente cómodos y ligeros que encajan a la perfección en el oído y que resisten cualquier movimiento fuerte de la cabeza, por lo que son perfectos compañeros para hacer deporte y un estuche de carga liviano y compacto que encaja en cualquier parte.
Además, son francamente bonitos por esa estética tan bien definida que combina el blanco y gris y, como no podía ser de otra manera, en la caja vienen diferentes almohadillas para adaptarse a cualquier oreja y hacer una sensación de vacío que logra aislar algo del ruido exterior cuando tienes la música puesta.
No es algo que elimine por completo el sonido de fuera, ya que no cuentan con cancelación de ruido, pero sí que es cierto que con la música en torno al 60% hacen un buen trabajo en este sentido.
Por lo demás, esos círculos grises en la parte superior de los auriculares que aportan sello propio son los que te permiten activar las diferentes funciones del dispositivo como pasar de canción, pausar la música o coger una llamada.
En este sentido, un par de pegas: son francamente sensibles, por lo que me he visto parando la música o cambiando de canción en muchas ocasiones y no cuentan con opción de subir o bajar el volumen, por lo que tendrás que sacar el móvil por si no te convence la potencia de sonido actual.
Por último, destacar que también puedes apostar por una unidad en negro, pero creo que le resta identidad, ya que no tiene esa combinación de colores que creo que le sientan genial.
Conectividad: problemas con iOS, buena conexión con Android, pero una app parca en opciones
Los auriculares destacan por una conexión bluetooth 5.3 que te van a permitir disfrutar de una conexión francamente estable en todo tipo de situaciones y que, además, tienen un muy buen comportamiento gaming gracias a su baja latencia de 94 ms.
En cuanto a la conexión, se supone que todo se hace a través de Hey Melody (iOS, Android) que ejerce como centro de control. Digo, se supone, porque en iOS he sido completamente incapaz de conectarlo a la aplicación y he tenido que tirar únicamente de la conexión bluetooth. Eso sí, tampoco te pierdes gran cosa.
¿El motivo? Con Android sí que he logrado conectarlos sin problemas a Hey Melody, pero la app es parca en opciones. Solo tienes un ecualizador que te permite ajustar algo el sonido y poder editar algunos comandos rápidos de los controles y poco más.
Salvo este pequeño inconveniente en iOS, el comportamiento de los auriculares es muy bueno, tanto en Apple como en Android, con controles precisos, aunque escasos.
Destacar, por último, compatibilidad con códecs AAC y SBC, alcance de 10 metros de bluetooth y resistencia al agua y al sudor IP55.
Sonido: potencia, nitidez y buena calidad, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta su precio
La calidad de sonido es uno de los puntos fuertes de estos Oppo Enco Buds2 Pro gracias a su unidad dinámica de 12,4 mm y su rango de respuesta de 20 hz a 20.000 hz.
¿Qué te vas a encontrar? Un sonido muy bien equilibrado que tiene buena potencia, gran presencia de graves y algún que otro matiz. Tampoco es que sea tengan una calidad excelente, pero viendo su precio, me parece que es uno de los puntos fuertes del dispositivo.
En cuanto a las llamadas me ha sorprendido bastante gracias a un sistema de doble micrófono que cuenta con algoritmos de IA para ofrecer conversaciones nítidas, claras y sin interrupciones.
¿A destacar? Esa IA es capaz de eliminar el ruido exterior para que el receptor de la llamada te escuche de manera clara.
Batería: para todo el día sin problemas
La batería también es uno de los grandes puntos fuertes.
Gracias a su capacidad de 36 mAh es capaz de ofrecerte hasta 8 horas sin problemas, más que suficiente para una jornada de trabajo completa. A todo esto suma los 480 mAh del estuche de carga que pueda darte unas 38 horas extra.
Al final, puede ofrecerte más de un par de días sin tener que pasar por el enchufe cargando los auriculares en el estuche en los tiempos muertos. Unas cifras excepcionales.
Conclusión: ¿merecen la pena los Oppo Enco Buds2 Pro?
Los Oppo Enco Buds2 Pro me han parecido unos auriculares muy capaces y más viendo que tan solo cuestan 49 euros.
Tienen un diseño muy cómodo, pensado para poder disfrutar de ellos durante horas sin cansancio, y un agarre perfecto al oído, por lo que los hace compañeros ideales para hacer deporte, así como una calidad de sonido francamente buena.
Lo único que me ha disgustado es esa aplicación parca en opciones y la imposibilidad de conectar los auriculares a la app en iOS, pero viendo lo que esconde en su interior, tampoco es que sea importante.

In addition to venting excess energy from an unstable kyber crystal, the crossguard lightsaber is meant to keep the user protected from sneaky blows. It’s the same purpose that a real crossguard serves on a real broadsword, preventing an opponent from sliding down the blade and slicing at your hands, as well as stopping you from accidentally cutting yourself during battle.
For as much grief as the design got when it debuted, it arguably makes more sense than the regular, unadorned lightsaber hilt. In «Revenge of the Sith,» Anakin Skywalker defeats Count Dooku by doing the exact thing the crossguard is designed to prevent: sliding down his opponent’s blade while their sabers are locked, slicing off his hands, and leaving him defenseless. This is the only time in mainline Star Wars that we see someone successfully pull off a move like this, but it doesn’t seem hard to do. Like the question of why people don’t rapidly turn their lightsabers off and then back on to break locks, this is a detail that’s best not to look at too closely.
It still seems odd that the crossguard saber didn’t remain in vogue during the Republic’s final days. The reason, obviously, is that no one at Lucasfilm had come up with it yet. If we really wanted to find an in-universe explanation, you could argue that the design’s more cumbersome nature — evident in both Kylo Ren’s fighting style and Cal Kestis’ crossguard saber in «Star Wars Jedi: Survivor» — made it unpopular for the fast-paced fighting styles of the prequel era.

The news: Seattle-based Soundry AI, a platform that uses generative artificial intelligence to help musicians create samples for songs, is part of the latest cohort at the startup accelerator Y Combinator.
The tech: Soundry AI has created a text-to-sound generator, allowing users to experiment and fine-tune drum beats, bass lines and more through various text prompts.
“There’s hundreds of thousands of samples online you could purchase. What we’re able to do is allow someone to communicate the emotion or the feeling that they have and turn that into samples,” said Soundry co-founder Diandre Ruiz, the startup’s chief product officer and a musician with the EDM band Bandlez.

The founders: Along with Ruiz, Soundry AI is led by CEO Mark Buckler and CTO Justin Parus. Buckler has previous experience at Amazon where he spent 3 1/2 years as an applied scientist working on the Scout autonomous delivery robot, among other things. Parus spent 5 1/2 years at Microsoft as a software engineer.
Competitors: Ruiz said Soundry competes in the space with such companies as Suno AI, which is used for song generation. Companies offering music sample libraries have also proliferated, such as Splice and Output, but Soundry argues such libraries can come with copyright concerns or a lack of authenticity.
Partnerships: Soundry partners with artists and licenses their songs and samples to help train its AI. Its new “infinite sample packs” are collections of samples that make up genres such as “Hip-Hop Crate” or “Tokyo Dubstep Drums.”
In the demo video below, Buckler said the goal is to have making music be “as simple as playing with LEGOs … we’re going to take some blocks, we’re going to smoosh ’em together.” Alongside Soundry, he uses a music production software tool called Ableton.
Funding: In addition to Y Combinator, Soundry is close to completing a seed round of financing.
How they make money: Soundry’s subscription model is $10 a month and offers access to all sample packs. Every week they release different packs, different styles and different partnerships to give members access to the continuing evolution of the technology.
Customers: Soundry is focused on audio prosumers, high-level hobbyists and professional musicians who can use the tool to fill out tracks. “We’ve even had some foley guys tell us that they put footstep [prompts] in there for their indie games or things like that,” Ruiz said.
AI vs human artists: “You don’t have anything unless you have a human experience,” Ruiz said. “I think the more tools that we give people to really communicate their experiences, the more content we can get out there and the more people that can tell their story. And that’s where the power of AI really is, not necessarily in the music itself.”

But the beauty of fan shipping is that you can have your cake and eat it too. Canon isn’t the limit of how people engage with and enjoy a story, especially in a universe as enormous and diverse as Star Wars. The franchise has been pitifully puritanical in the realm of queer representation, even in the Disney era. The most fully developed gay relationship we’ve seen in mainline Star Wars is probably the messy rebel foxhole romance between Vel Sartha (Faye Marsay) and Cinta Kaz (Varada Sethu) in «Andor.» At times, Disney’s apparent hesitance to feature primary queer characters has arguably hindered Star Wars projects, especially the sequel trilogy.

So, how does Mulan’s kind of terrifying kill count measure up to other Disney princesses? Overall, it’s no comparison. One can make the case that certain people die due to the actions of other princesses. For instance, Elsa (Idina Menzel) could have frozen people to death in her accidental winter wonderland in «Frozen.» However, for the most part, very few Disney princesses kill, directly or indirectly, and when they do, it’s hard to come up with an official kill count.
When one considers Disney characters, in general, things get sticky. Does «Disney character» mean a character owned or created by Disney? The former would mean you can include characters from the «Star Wars» and «Marvel» universes. FX’s content would also be fair game. In that case, Luke’s (Mark Hamill) kill count trumps Mulan’s to the tune of over one and a half million Death Star deaths, while Armitage Hux’s (Domhnall Gleeson) death rate is all the way up at 155 billion. If you open the Pandora’s Box of other IPs, things get out of hand quickly. What about pure Disney originals, though? If you consider all Disney creations (not just princesses), one killer quickly comes to mind: King Kashekim (Leonard Nimoy) from «Atlantis.» Quora user Roberto Etcheverry nominates the elderly Atlantian king due to his recounting of the wars he attempts to wage using the power of his kingdom’s crystal. There are no specifics, but the tidal waves shown are doubtless deadly catastrophes, and many don’t get into Atlantis before it sinks into the sea. It’s a good counterpoint, but again, an unconfirmed number.
