Hank May Unveils New Single «Life Is Sweet»

    [ad_1]

On October 6, Los Angeles musician Hank May will release his sophomore album Tails via Dangerbird Records. Today, May has unveiled the project’s latest single, “Life Is Sweet”—a groovy pop track coated in a candy folk gloss. He approaches the song with an eye for intricate arrangements, layering rich guitars with a propulsive, drum machine backbeat that glimmers as much as it awes. It’s evident that May is branching away from the singer/songwriter world he built on his debut album—2021’s One More Taste of the Good Stuff—and is, instead, more interested in making undefinable yet accessible work that is catchy, electronic and bountiful. “Life Is Sweet” lives up to its own title, with an earworm melody and a sharp modernity.

May says of the accompanying video: “This video was inspired in part by Bob Dylan’s classic ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ video and The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. I spend a lot of time by myself in the woods. When ‘Hell is other people,’ as the saying goes, heaven can be a walk in the forest surrounded by plants and animals. The lyrics in this song deal with depression and self-imposed isolation, so I thought it would make sense to make the music video by myself in the woods.

“Even though I planned not to leave anything behind, I did feel guilty bringing a whole bunch of junk into the forest. (Usually I only have a water bottle and maybe a snack.) I tried to find a secret spot to do my shady business of spray painting sheets of construction paper and stapling them to a tree but alas, other nature-loving humans managed to find me. I will say that most people were intrigued, someone even said something along the lines of ‘Oh, doin a bob Dylan thing?’ and I was like “Yup!’ But eventually, someone came along who was like ‘Oh hell no, I don’t what this is but it’s completely unacceptable, I’m calling the authorities on you!’ So I had to pack up quickly and hide from the park rangers in order to keep my music video budget at zero dollars. I finished the video in the tub and came back the next day to remove the staples from the tree. I think it came out pretty good!”

  • Where Are Raja Kolander’s Children Today? Update

Where Are Raja Kolander’s Children Today? Update

    [ad_1]

With Netflix’s ‘Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer’ exploring the atrocious saga of Ram Niranjan (better known by his moniker Raja Kolander), we get a deep insight into who he really is. After all, this three-part original details not only his alleged offenses as a car looter turned murderer and a suspected cannibal but also his indigenous background as well as familial experiences. So now, if you are curious to learn more about his three children in particular — with a specific focus on their opinions, interpersonal connections, and current standing — we’ve got you covered.

    Who Are Raja Kolander’s Children?

Raja is reportedly a proud father of three, two sons followed by a daughter, all of whom he consciously named after different elements of the democratic judicial system to make them stand out. They are Adalat, which translates to court; Zamant, which means bail; and Andolan, which denotes protest — although he did claim in the production that Zamant’s actual name is Naveen Kumar. “My father was a really good person,” his daughter assuredly recalled in the docuseries. “He was really nice… He could not bear to see us in pain… He’d treat us well and take good care of us.”

That’s why it came as a complete shock to the then-kids when Raja was apprehended for the mid-December 2000 murder of thriving Allahabadi journalist Dhirendra Singh mere four days later. The truth is officials even took his wife, Phoolan Devi, and his sons into custody around the time on suspicion, just for the latter to be released for good within 20 days, as per the Netflix original. Adalat was only “14 or 15,” yet he still stood up for his father by asking detectives “why they were troubling him” and to actually “find the real culprits,” making it clear he believed in Raja’s innocence.

Where Are Raja Kolander’s Children Now?

From what we can tell, it appears as if Adalat as well as Andolan continue to back their father to the best of their abilities to this day — Zamant likely does so too, but not much is known about him. This is the reason the former two siblings actually featured in ‘Indian Predator’ to share their side of the story, yet their similar narratives contradicted Raja’s when it came to the intricacies of it. They couldn’t really comment on any aspect of the offense since they weren’t involved, so their portrayal of Raja’s lifestyle before 2000 was the piece that proved different from his assertions.

Nevertheless, the siblings are still vehement supporters of their father, with Andolan even going as far as to state, “I saw on YouTube, someone claimed ‘Raja used to eat brains, he was ferocious, he was a scary vampire…’ Is he insane? Would his wife and kids be there if he was like this?”

Coming to their whereabouts, even though it seems like all three Kolander children continue to reside in Uttar Pradesh, India, they do prefer to stay well away from the limelight these days. Therefore, apart from the fact Adalat Singh presently works as a private school educator, we unfortunately do not know any recent details of their personal or professional endeavors.

  • Is Colette a True Story? Is the 2018 Movie Based on Real People?

Is Colette a True Story? Is the 2018 Movie Based on Real People?

    [ad_1]

‘Colette’ is a 2018 drama film directed by Wash Westmoreland, starring Keira Knightley as Gabrielle Colette, a young housewife with a flair for writing. After her husband discovers her talent, he forces her to write books and publishes them under his name. However, Colette soon becomes dissatisfied with the situation and decides to fight for the credit and fame she deserves.

The French writer’s captivating and emotionally engaging tale is set in the 20th century and makes numerous cultural and historical references. Moreover, it deals with the themes of female empowerment, making the narrative rooted in reality. Now, if you are wondering whether ‘Colette’ is based on an actual person, here is everything we have gathered about the inspiration behind the movie. Let’s dive in!

    Is Colette a True Story?

Yes, ‘Colette’ is based on a true story. The movie is a biopic about the life of Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, a French author, actress, and journalist. She was born on January 28, 1873, in Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, a small commune in Yonne, France, to Jules-Joseph Colette and his wife, Adèle Eugénie Sidonie. In 1893, Colette married Henry Gauthier-Villars, a well-known author who used the pen name “Willy” to publish his books.

Image Credit: Robert Viglasky/Bleecker Street Films

Initially, Colette penned four novels in the ‘Claudine’ series, published under her husband’s name. The couple were reportedly in an open marriage and found themselves in an affair with the same woman. Eventually, Colette decided to claim authorship of her work and started publishing books under her name. Furthermore, she and Willy separated in 1906, and their divorce was finalized in 1910. In her later years, Colette published novels such as ‘Gigi’ and ‘La Vagabonde’ which garnered her worldwide success.

In 1912, Colette married Henry de Jouvenel, the editor of the French newspaper ‘Le Matin,’ and the couple had one daughter. After they separated in 1924, she married Maurice Goudeket, and they remained together until the author’s death on August 3, 1954, at age 81. Albeit the movie focuses on Colette’s early life and youth- the main story revolves around her marriage to Willy and their separation. This leads to her journey of discovering herself as an author and a woman who challenges the norms and customs women must follow in the 19th century.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Wash Westmoreland revealed what attracted him to creating a biopic about the famous French author. He and Richard Glatzer started work on a screenplay in 2001, attempting to adapt her life for the screen. Although, it took nearly seventeen years for the project to come to fruition. Westmoreland stated that Colette was trapped in a marriage, did not receive credit for her work, but still lived a grand life. The director found the author’s ability to live life fearlessly enticing and decided to make a biographical film about her.

    Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette

In the same 2018 interview, Westmoreland explained the creative decision to focus only on Colette’s early youth and first marriage in the film. “This is about her formation as an artist and her transgressive sort of explorations of sexuality in the public eye. The story of this woman whose voice is not being heard because this giant male ego (is) squashing her down, and she has to struggle to get out. That is a great kernel for the story,” Westmoreland stated. He added that while the film takes some artistic license in portraying Colette’s life on the screen, his team stuck to facts as much as possible.

The director explained that the movie dramatizes actual events in the same fashion as Colette used her life experiences and fictionalized them in her novels. Therefore, it is evident that ‘Colette’ is a faithful depiction of the French author’s life and remains true to her spirit. It captures the real-life figure’s struggles and progressive ideas in a conservative society. In addition, the movie depicts the incidents that shape the person whose works continue to inspire women across the globe, making it safe to say that it is a true story.

Where is Renovation Impossible Filmed? HGTV Filming Locations

    [ad_1]

HGTV’s ‘Renovation Impossible’ is a home improvement show that follows contractor Russell J. Holmes as he helps his clients finally go through their stalled home renovations. Using his experience and dollar-stretching solutions, he ensures the project stays within its tight budget. With designer Paige Poupart’s valuable assistance, Russell somehow manages to turn homeowners’ unrealistic expectations into a reality. Thanks to two decades in the construction industry, he knows how to strategize certain things to keep the costs to the minimum, where to cut them and still get maximum results, and find clever ways to thrift items with Paige’s help.

Many homeowners are likely to find the home improvement show quite insightful as they learn innovative ways to do things themselves. In addition, the different locations and residences where Russell works his magic are bound to make you wonder about the filming sites that appear in the HGTV show. Well, we are here to fill you in on all the details regarding the same and put your mind at ease!

    Renovation Impossible Filming Locations

‘Renovation Impossible’ is filmed entirely in Texas, specifically in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the series seemingly commenced in late 2020 and wrapped up in early 2022. Since Russell is a Dallas-based contractor, it makes sense for the production team to choose Lone Star State as the shooting site for the HGTV show.

Located in the South Central region of the United States, Texas is the nation’s second-largest state in terms of area and population. Now, without much ado, let’s follow Russell as he transforms different properties and learn more about the specific locations!

    Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas

All the pivotal sequences for ‘Renovation Impossible’ are lensed across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, a conurbated metropolitan statistical area in Texas that includes 11 counties. In the early stages of filming, the cast and crew were spotted taping important scenes in Denton, a city in and the county seat of Denton County in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

Dallas, the most populous city in the metropolitan statistical area, also serves as a prominent production location for the home improvement series. Furthermore, in October 2021, the team set up camp in the Southwest Log Homes at 10279 Hicks Field Road in Fort Worth to record pivotal scenes for the debut season.

The region’s economy comes from different fields, including healthcare, energy, banking, insurance, transportation, commerce, technology, and more. In addition, the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex is frequented by many filmmakers; over the years, the region has served as a prominent taping location for different movies and TV shows. Some notable ones are ‘Tenet,’ ‘A Ghost Story,’ ‘Independence Day,’ ‘Prison Break,’ and ‘Dallas.’

  • Miyazaki’s First Film in a Decade

Miyazaki’s First Film in a Decade

    [ad_1]

Ahead of its first screening outside of Japan, Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli‘s long-anticipated The Boy and the Heron has released its first trailer. The film marks Miyazaki’s first movie in a decade, since the game-changing The Wind Rises marked the last time the anime master threatened to retire from filmmaking. The Boy and the Heron has been even more enticing as a swan song because of the mystery surrounding the film. With no conventional press materials released in the years of development, we’ve been left to speculate what kind of narrative would befit Miyazaki’s (alleged) farewell. Now, after releasing in Japanese theaters in July, Studio Ghibli and GKIDS have released the first footage to the world.

    Take a look:

Fittingly, the official description of The Boy and the Heron was released in poem form:

    A young boy named Mahito

    yearning for his mother

ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead.

There, death comes to an end,

and life finds a new beginning.

    A semi-autobiographical fantasy

    about life, death, and creation,

    in tribute to friendship,

from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.

Featuring the familiar, glorious hand-drawn house style of Ghibli alongside some innovate, nightmarish animation, The Boy and the Heron naturally deals with mortality, war, magic, history, lines between reality and fantasy, and human connection. Also, a heron.

Though the movie’s Japanese title (How Do You Live?) references a 1937 Genzaburō Yoshino novel, Miyazaki is known for his liberal adaptation style, sometimes discarding everything but a single element of a source, so don’t look too hard for clues. Rather, it seems more illuminating to look to the themes and subject matter that has preoccupied Miyazaki’s later career, especially as the 82-year-old gets more and more comfortable explicitly addressing his age in his work.

The Boy and the Heron premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend, followed by a few other festival appearances before it starts select appearances on November 22 and fully hits theaters on December 8, 2023.

  • Who Was Bruce Edwards Ivins? How Did the Anthrax Attacks Suspect Die?

Who Was Bruce Edwards Ivins? How Did the Anthrax Attacks Suspect Die?

    [ad_1]

As a documentary that lives up to its title from every angle, Netflix’s ‘The Anthrax Attacks: In the Shadow of 9/11’ explores the way extreme dread had gripped the nation back in the fall of 2001. After all, within weeks of the horrific national assault in September, several letters containing spores of Anthrax were domestically mailed to inflict further harm on civilians and politicians alike. The worst part of the latter is thus undeniably the fact it is believed to be the work of an “insider” — so now let’s find out more about its suspected perpetrator, Dr. Bruce Edwards Ivins, shall we?

    Who Was Bruce Edwards Ivins?

Born to Mary Johnson (née Knight) Ivins and Thomas Randall Ivins on April 22, 1946, as the youngest of three boys, Bruce unfortunately did not have the most stable or comfortable childhood. His pharmacist father was reportedly quite kind as well as generous, but his homemaker mother was abusive in every sense of the term, something he’d been a target for since before his birth. According to the family, because he was unplanned, Mary repeatedly tried to hurt the process and lose the pregnancy at home by throwing herself/bouncing down the stairs through her buttocks.

Despite all this, Bruce grew up to be extremely sharp in both academics as well as extracurricular activities, only for his interest in the Sciences to propel him into the world of microbiology. The Lebanon, Ohio native actually graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s in 1968, a Master’s in 1971, and a Ph.D. in 1976 in the same field before kickstarting his full-time career. He then relocated to suburban Maryland (1978) alongside his wife, where his sheer tenacity helped him land a post at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases in late 1980.

Bruce hence evolved from a mere microbiologist to a renowned biodefense researcher and a vaccinologist, with one of his last projects being the development of better quality anthrax vaccines. Therefore, when the 2001 attacks initially came to light, he was asked to help the FBI analyze the spores mailed to victims, just to gradually be considered a suspect himself owing to his knowledge. As if that’s not enough, per the documentary, not only was a personal anthrax sample he’d submitted for testing a match to the terrorizing spores, but he also had a history of mental health issues.

How Did Bruce Edwards Ivins Die?

While investigations into Dr. Bruce’s possible connection to the horrifying September-October 2001 Amerithrax had reportedly begun in 2002, he actually became the primary focus around 2006. By this point, it’d been uncovered he’d previously sought help for depression, anxiety, as well as paranoia, for which he was on a myriad of prescribed heavy antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs. He’d even had his fair share of obsessions, including with the Kappa Kappa Gamma college sorority ever since a member had rejected him during their college days, which is seemingly crucial.

That’s because the FBI believes the poisoned anthrax-filled letters were deposited in a Princeton, New Jersey mailbox, which just so happens to be beneath a KKG sorority’s storage facility. Moreover, according to the Netflix original, another implicating aspect was the bolded A’s and T’s in the letters, indicating an encrypted code for “FNY” or “F**k New York,” and the doctor was known to have a hatred for the area. The fact he was working on the anthrax vaccine at the time, which purportedly got a quick FDA approval following the attacks, could’ve also played a role in the matter.

The FBI had thus placed Bruce under periodic surveillance by the time mid-April 2007 rolled around, and more than a year later, he learned criminal charges could be filed against him at any moment. Therefore, apparently, in fear of losing his world-renowned reputation by being accused of five murders, he died by suicide — of an overdose of acetaminophen (aka Tylenol) — on July 29, 2008. He was found unconscious inside his home on the morning of July 27 and immediately rushed to the Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he passed away two days later from liver as well as kidney failure.

We should mention that while the FBI formally closed the case on February 19, 2010, with the conclusion the doctor was responsible, there was no evidence that directly tied him to the anthrax attacks. The allegations against him remain purely circumstantial.

Wedding Season Season 1 Ending, Explained: Who Killed the Delaneys?

    [ad_1]

Hulu’s ‘Wedding Season’ is a British action series created by Oliver Lyttelton. The high-octane narrative follows Stefan, a hopeless romantic who is dragged into a dangerous conflict after his ex-lover, Katie, is accused of murdering her new husband and in-laws. As the story progresses, viewers learn more about Katie’s past.

Meanwhile, Stefan tries to prove Katie’s innocence. However, a shocking twist in the finale will leave viewers scratching their heads for answers. If you are looking for some explanation about the show’s events, here is everything you need to know about ‘Wedding Season’ and its explosive ending. SPOILERS AHEAD!

    Wedding Season Recap

‘Wedding Season’ opens with Katie’s wedding with Hugo Delaney being interrupted by Stefa, Katie’s ex-lover. After Katie leaves him a voice mail, Stefan believes she is in love with him and tries to stop the wedding. However, Katie insults Stefan and asks him to leave. Later, Stefan is arrested by the police after the Delaneys are found dead at the wedding, and Katie goes missing. Katie is the prime suspect, and Stefan is interrogated by inspectors Metts and Donahue about his relationship with Katie.

Flashbacks reveal that Katie and Stefan met at a wedding and were instantly attracted to each other. They continued bumping into each other at weddings and hooked up. However, Katie reveals that she is getting married to Hugo and has no romantic interest in Stean. Nonetheless, the two continue hooking up over the summer. In the present, Katie lures Stefan away, and the two are forced to go on the run after a criminal organization known as “The Block” attempts to capture them.

In the flashbacks, Katie takes Stefan to the Delaney Casino in Las Vegas, where she steals a data drive with mysterious video footage on it. Meanwhile, in the present, the duo is captured by Katie’s ex-husband, Conrad. He reveals that The Block wants them both dead. However, Katie manages to conjure an escape plan. Nonetheless, Stefan is captured by Metts and Donahue and learns of Katie’s past.

Flashbacks reveal that the Delaneys murdered Katie’s father, and they stole the deed to their bar. As a result, Katie plans to avenge her father’s death and reclaim the property. Hence, she decided to marry Hugo and plotted to poison the entire family on the wedding day. She holds evidence of Hugo cheating on her in the data drive and plans on using it as grounds for divorce. However, Katie has second thoughts at the last moment and refrains from killing the Delaneys. Nonetheless, they end up dead, and Katie comes under suspicion.

Wedding Season Ending: Who Killed the Delaneys? Does Katie Get Revenge?

In the season finale, Katie and Stefan suspect that Metts is connected to The Block after she tries to kill Stefan in police custody. Therefore, they track down Metts at a wedding in Texas. Katie corners Metts after Stefan triggers her allergy and steals her insulin shot. Katie holds Metts at gunpoint and forces her to reveal the truth about the Delaneys’ death. Metts confesses to killing the Delaneys on orders from The Block. The Delaney family was causing trouble for The Blocks, and the task of dealing with them was assigned to Metts.

Metts learned about Katie’s vendetta against the Delaneys. She orchestrated the plan to kill the Delnaeys and pinned the blame upon Katie. However, Metts reveals that Katie had already poisoned Mr. Delaney, leading to his death. Stefan is devastated at the revelation and ends things with Katie. However, when Metts and The Block corner Katie at a small church, Stefan decides to help her. He formulates a plan to help him and Katie safely flee from The Block.

As per Stefan’s plan, Katie makes a deal with The Block. She attempts to trade the deed papers she stole in exchange for The Block removing the evidence of her involvement in the Delaney family’s death. Since Metts’ confession proves that Katie is innocent, she actually owns the deed papers to her father’s property as her prenup with Hugo still stands. Hence, Katie succeeds in making a deal with The Block. However, unbeknownst to him, Stefan bluffed about uploading Metts’ confession on the internet. Therefore, Katie sacrifices her father’s property to live a normal and crime-free life. Ultimately, Katie comes to her senses and gives up her quest for revenge.

Do Katie and Stefan End Up Together? Is Katie Dead?

Throughout the season, viewers see Stefan being head over heels for Katie. However, she does not reciprocate his feelings and is solely focused on her quest for revenge. However, Stefan continues to go out of his way to help Katie. Soon, Katie finds Stefan becoming a source of comfort and is drawn toward him. As a result, the series delves into the thriller genre as both Katie and Stefan must first prove their innocence before they can reflect on their feelings for each other. Hence, their romantic future goes through several ups and downs as episodes progress.

Nonetheless, Stefan remains by Katie’s side until the end. However, after he learns that Katie is a murderer, he decides to let go of her. Stefan realizes that he has pushed himself too far for Katie’s sake. On the other hand, she lied to him about her involvement in the Delany family’s death. Hence, a disgruntled Stefan leaves Katie alone to deal with the aftermath of her actions.

Meanwhile, after Stefan leaves, Katie loses interest in her quest for revenge and craves a common life. Hence, she decides to make a deal with The Block. In the end, Stefan is moved by Katie’s decision to leave her criminal life and make a fresh start for his sake. Katie makes a grand romantic gesture by revealing that if anything happens to her, the deed to her the property deed will be referred to Stefan. As a result, Stefan realizes that Katie has feelings for him too. Hence, he forgives Katie, and the two decide to take their relationship to the next stage.

Ultimately, Stefan and Katie end up together. We see time enjoying their common life as they continue to fall in love with each other. Stefan mentions that he is in no rush to marry Katie as he does not want to tie her down. On the other hand, Katie is ready to make things official. Therefore, the duo’s journeys come full circle as they finally understand their needs and wants in life and from their relationship.

However, in the episode’s final moments, Katie and Stefan arrive near their car to head home from the bar. Just as Katie heads to the driver’s seat, the car explodes, leaving Stefan horrified. The explosion implies that Katie is dead, and her death will deeply impact Stefan However, it is also likely that the explosion was a part of Katie’s plans, and she is forced to go away from Stefan to keep him safe. Nonetheless, what new trouble Katie might find herself in remains to be seen.

  • Tears of the Kingdom Won’t be Getting DLC, Producer Says

Tears of the Kingdom Won’t be Getting DLC, Producer Says

    [ad_1]

There are no plans to develop DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, according to two major figures for The Legend of Zelda series.

In an interview with Famitsu, series producer Eiji Aonuma and Tears of the Kingdom director Hidemaru Fujibayashi confirmed that Nintendo is not currently looking into developing any new content for the latest Zelda game.

“There are no plans to release additional content this time, but that’s because I feel like I’ve done everything I can to create games in that world,” Aonuma said.

This news comes a bit unexpected given the game’s success, selling 18.51 million units by the end of June, and the fact that Nintendo has established a pattern of developing post-release content for nearly all of its major games on the Nintendo Switch, including the game’s predecessor The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which received two separate DLC releases within its release year.

The decision to forgo DLC may be due to a desire for the team to focus on their next project, as comments from Fujibayashi seem to suggest that the team is already thinking about the next Zelda game.

“I don’t know if it will be the next work, but I’m thinking about what the ‘next fun experience’ will be,” Fujibayashi said. “I can only say that I do not know at the moment what form it will take.”

The Famitsu interview also contained a number of fun tidbits from the game’s development, including Fujibayashi pitching the Ultrahand ability by comparing it to viral song “PPAP (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen)” and specifically designing the game’s koroks in such a way that players wouldn’t feel guilty no matter what they did to them.

  • Where Are They Today? Update on the Cast

Where Are They Today? Update on the Cast

    [ad_1]

TLC’s ‘Family By The Ton’ is an intriguing reality TV show that follows two families dealing with weight loss issues for quite a long time. Both are shown to have a combined weight of over 2000 pounds, and the show documents how they change their lifestyle and bring in good habits to shed some pounds. Moreover, while primarily focusing on each member’s journey towards good health, we witness their interpersonal relationships and everyday routine, making it all the more interesting. Thus, with two seasons of the show behind us and the cameras turned away, let’s find out where the cast members are now, shall we?

    Where Is Naomi Anderson Now?

Naomi Anderson was encouraged to lose weight after witnessing her mother undergo successful weight-loss surgery. Although she was initially scared by the complications and procedures that came with the procedure, she soon became determined to turn her life around. Around this time, Naomi’s long-time boyfriend also broke up with her, further strengthening her resolve. Ultimately, she took matters into her own hands and did whatever was needed to prepare herself for surgery. Fortunately, it was successful, and Naomi mentioned how she dreamt of starting a family.

At present, Naomi seems to reside in Tucker, Georgia, and has not given up on her efforts to lose weight. While it looks like she has surrounded herself with friends and family, there’s nothing to indicate the presence of a romantic someone in her life. Nevertheless, Naomi currently runs Beauty, a cosmetic & personal care business, and we wish her the best for the years to come.

    Where Is Chitoka Light Now?

Naomi’s cousin, Chitoka, was also determined to lose weight and return to a healthy lifestyle. Despite weighing about 700 pounds and being bedridden for four long years, she decided to change her life for the better and was helped in her journey by a weight loss expert. In the second episode of season 1, we witnessed Chitoka face the difficult challenge of taking a walk outside after staying indoors for years. Nevertheless, with a steely determination and resolve, she could beat her old habits and improve her lifestyle.

Chitoka is still based out of Tucker, Georgia, living a happy life surrounded by family and friends. She has managed to reduce her weight to 450 pounds but is determined to lose even more. Additionally, from the looks of it, Chitoka now works as a motivational speaker and tries to encourage people with her own life experiences.

    Where Is Drew Stewart Now?

Drew Stewart knew his life was in danger if he continued with his unnatural weight gain. Besides, witnessing his cousins, Chitoka and Naomi, take a step toward healthy living inspired him, and like everyone else, he took Dr. Charles Procter Jr.’s help to guide him on the challenging journey. Initially, Drew found it difficult even to stand properly, and walking outdoors was out of the question. Nevertheless, he got himself ready for surgery towards the end of the show through a controlled diet and regular exercise.

Post-surgery, Drew became incredibly serious about his fitness and refuses to tolerate even a tiny slip-up now; he exercises regularly and always keeps an eye on his weight. As far as we can tell, Drew currently resides in Georgia and is happy with his loved ones around him. The reality star’s social media pictures portray his incredible transformation, and we hope success never eludes him in the long run.

    Where Is Casey King Now?

Season 2 cast member Casey King found it difficult to stick to a weight loss routine as he regularly gave in to his old habits. Luckily, his mother soon controlled the situation and helped him on his journey. Although Casey weighed around 711 pounds when initially introduced on the show, he prepared himself for surgery by following a strict diet and daily exercise. Eventually, the procedure was successful, and he got a new lease on life.

Once filming for season 2 wrapped, the reality star embraced privacy and hasn’t talked much about his personal life in public. Albeit, from the looks of it, Casey currently resides in Georgia and has gone through an incredible transformation. On top of that, he remains committed to leading a healthy life, and we wish him the best.

    Where Is Amanda Johnson Now?

Amanda Johnson weighed about 650 pounds when she first appeared on the show, yet she had an even more severe threat to her life when she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. With the disease growing inside her body, the doctors mentioned that she would not be able to battle it effectively until she lost enough weight. Thus, with her life on the line, Amanda embarked on a challenging weight-loss journey and was determined to change her life for good.

Interestingly, Amanda was pretty active on social media even after season 2 finished filming, and in April 2018, she mentioned that she was greenlit for the weight loss surgery much earlier than she expected. Not just that, reports in January 2019 stated that she would finally be able to start her cancer treatment. Since then, Amanda has deleted all her social media accounts, and with no recent news on the reality star, her present whereabouts remain unclear.

    Where Is Amy Long Now?

Amy weighed close to 400 pounds at the beginning of season 2, and she mentioned that obesity gave her body image and self-esteem issues. Hence, she was determined to improve her life, and through relentless exercise and a strict diet, she achieved her goal. As of writing, Amy seems to reside in Atlanta, Georgia, and is in a loving relationship with Will Staton. She works as a makeup artist and teacher and is determined to stick to her weight loss routine. Amy’s transformation is impressive and inspiring, and we wish her the best for the years ahead.

    Where Is Ed Barnes Now?

Ed Barnes, a retired firefighter, was determined to shed weight and return to an active lifestyle. He knew the path would be arduous, yet the reality star was ready to face the challenge. On the show, Ed portrayed a steely determination and forced himself to adapt to a grueling exercise routine, restricting himself to a strict diet and refusing to give up.

From the looks of it, the former firefighter’s determination and resolve paid off as he underwent an incredible transformation. He presently resides in Georgia and keeps his fans updated about his status through regular updates. It is heartwarming to witness Ed’s success, and we wish him all the happiness for the future.

Where is Who Likes My Follower? Filmed? Netflix Filming Locations

    [ad_1]

Netflix’s ‘Who Likes My Follower?’ (originally titled ‘¿A quién le gusta mi follower?’) is a Spanish reality show featuring three popular and successful influencers — Jedet, Aroyitt, and Jonan Wiergo. The trio coaches their followers to find a perfect match for them by narrowing down dating prospects. In a world where dating digitally is becoming more common, these influencers try to trade digital likes for true love. The candidates must go through various filters to share experiences with the followers as the coaches closely watch them.

The reality show is made all the more entertaining by the fun host, Luján Argüelles. While the unique premise of the Spanish series keeps the viewers hooked on each episode, the use of different picturesque locations throughout the episodes makes one wonder about the actual filming sites of ‘Who Likes My Follower?.’ Well, if you are one such curious soul, you might be interested in what we have to share!

Who Likes My Follower? Filming Locations

‘Who Likes My Follower?’ is filmed entirely in Spain, particularly in the Valencian Community. The principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the dating show seemingly commenced in October 2021 and wrapped up a couple of months later. Spain’s art, music, cuisine, and literature have made their mark globally as they have been influential, especially in Western Europe and the Americas. Moreover, the country is home to 47 World Heritage Sites. Now, let’s navigate the specific locations where the followers attempt to find true love in real life!

    Valencian Community, Spain

All the pivotal sequences for ‘Who Likes My Follower?’ season 1 were seemingly taped across the Valencian Community, Spain’s fourth most populous autonomous community. To lens many sequences for the fifth episode of the debut season, the cast and crew set up camp in Benidorm, a town and municipality in the Alicante province. In that episode, the daters and their would-be lovers are spotted having a good time at one of the beaches in Benidorm.

Situated along the Mediterranean coast on the east side of the Iberian Peninsula, the Valencian Country consists of three provinces — Castellón, Valencia, and Alicante. Thanks to its vast and diverse geography, the autonomous community is frequented by many filmmakers for shooting purposes. Over the years, it has hosted the production of different movies and TV shows, such as ‘Geostorm,’ ‘The World Is Yours,’ ‘Alba,’ and ‘Paraíso.’

  • Annapurna Animation Breaks into Adaptations with Newly Announced Stray Movie

Annapurna Animation Breaks into Adaptations with Newly Announced Stray Movie

    [ad_1]

The recently formed Annapurna Animation studio has announced a slate of new projects in development, including a film adaptation of the Annapurna-published indie game Stray.

Few details have been shared about the Stray movie beyond it being animated, but Annapurna has stated that this will be part of a wider plans to expand into film adaptations of their published games, which have included such indie darlings as Neon White, Outer Wilds, and Kentucky Route Zero.

Annapurna Animation co-lead Robert Baird expounded on the appeal of the game and why they are interested in adapting it in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“This is a game that’s all about what makes us human, and there are no humans in it,” he told EW. “It’s a buddy comedy about a cat and a robot, and there’s such a hilarious dynamic. So, there’s comedy inherent in this, but there’s not one human being in this movie. I think it’s one of the reasons why the game was incredibly popular, that you are seeing the world through the point of view of an adorable cat. How did they pull that off, and how are we going to pull that off in the movie? We will, even though sometimes it feels impossible, but we know that’s the essence of the game and the key to telling the story.”

Alongside the Stray adaptation, Annapurna announced two other projects in development: FOO, from Ice Age director Chris Wedge, and an unnamed movie from Nimona co-director Nick Bruno.

Annapurna’s animation studio opened late last year and quickly gained attention after releasing this year’s critically-acclaimed Nimona.

  • The Disney Treasure Cruise Ship Will Have New Restaurants, Shows, Bars, and a Water Ride

The Disney Treasure Cruise Ship Will Have New Restaurants, Shows, Bars, and a Water Ride

    [ad_1]

A couple of weeks ago we told you about the Disney Treasure cruise ship, the latest member of Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, and how there was going to be a livestream revealing much about the ship on August 30. Well, that livestream got pushed back because of Hurricane Idalia, and finally premiered on YouTube earlier today. It confirms a lot of the rumors about the Treasure, as well as breaking a lot of news, and if you want to watch it for yourself you can do so right here. Or, if you just want to see everything listed out in bullet points, scroll down below.

So here’s what you can expect on the Disney Treasure, which shares the same layout as the Disney Wish:

We knew the Treasure would be themed to “adventure,” and so most of its original features will focus on some of Disney’s more adventurous properties from film, TV, and theme parks. For instance, there will be a Jungle Cruise-themed bar, Skipper Society, just off the main lobby. (It’s in the same spot as the Bayou bar on the Disney Wish.) If Skipper Society is half as beguiling as the Jungle Skipper Canteen Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom, it’ll be a prime drinking spot.

Another new bar has clearly fired its torpedoes directly at me. The Periscope Pub is based on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, still one of Disney’s best live action movies, which has also inspired a variety of rides and attractions at Disney parks around the world. (Heck, you can still hear audio from the Magic Kingdom ride at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto when you order the Nautilus.)

    Disney Treasure

Plaza de Coco takes the place of the Frozen-themed Arendelle dinner show, with two different nights of entertainment on a week-long cruise. Expect Miguel to sing with his modern day family and his great-great grandparents, and also expect to cry directly and profusely into your food. You can expect another dinner show featuring Marvel characters, although specific details haven’t been revealed about that yet. The candy shop themed to Inside Out on the Wish will have a Zootopia theme on the Treasure, and will be named Jumbeaux’s Sweets. Meanwhile, several of the dining options on the Wish will be available on the Treasure, as well, including Paleo Steakhouse, The Rose, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallament, and the Disney Studios memorabilia-themed 1923. There will also be cafes themed to Moana and Mulan.

The Treasure will have its own version of the AquaMouse, the water coaster ride that debuted with the Disney Wish. Subtitled Curse of the Golden Egg, this AquaMouse will have an adventurous new story starring Mickey and Minnie. Based on photos provided by Disney, it looks like this AquaMouse will follow the same general outline as the one on the Wish, meaning that story will be told entirely on screens on either side of the ride’s lift tunnel.

    Disney Treasure

When it comes to entertainment, the Treasure will have a mixture of new shows and favorites from other Disney cruises. Disney has revealed that an otherwise yet-to-be-announced new stage show will headline the Treasure, alongside a musical based on Beauty and the Beast and the Disney jukebox musical Disney Seas the Adventure. And the Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party will return on the deck, presumably with its classic rock cover band and fireworks show.

The Treasure’s 1256 staterooms will be themed to such adventure-focused films as UpEncantoAladdin, and Pocahontas. Royal suites, meanwhile, will focus on the big cats of Disney, with suites themed after characters from The Jungle BookAladdin, and The Lion King. And the Treasure’s poshest digs, the eight-person Tomorrow Tower Suite, has a light EPCOT theme that riffs on the park’s original devotion to progress and optimism.

There’ll be a lot more to the Treasure, and that info will no doubt trickle out gradually between now and the ship’s maiden voyage in December, 2024. Its initial season will consist of seven-night cruises to the Caribbean, with bookings opening next week, Sept. 12, 2023, for members of the Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club. Bookings for the general public start on Sept. 20, 2023, a solid 15 months before the maiden voyage.

Wondering what a Disney cruise is like? Well, they’re a lot of fun, if you’re a fan of Disney or any of its major brands. Here’s our report on the Disney Wish from last year’s media preview, if you’re looking for more context. And if you’d like to read Disney’s press release on the Disney Treasure, here’s a link to their media site.

  • Is Russell J. Holmes Married? Who is His Wife? Does He Have Kids?

Is Russell J. Holmes Married? Who is His Wife? Does He Have Kids?

    [ad_1]

Renovating one’s house is a dream come true for many. However, transforming a home is far from easy and often gets stalled midway. HGTV’s ‘Renovation Impossible’ is a solution for many such homeowners as the reality show‘s team helps even the most ambitious house renovation dreams come true. The renovation series earned praise from the viewers for its unique concept and for addressing an issue quite common among homeowners.

One half of the show’s dynamic duo is contractor Russell J. Holmes, who helps his clients restart their transformation and gives them the hope they may have lost over the years. His talent has earned him several fans, many of whom are excited to know more about his personal life. Well, here’s everything we know about the same.

Russell J. Holmes’ Early Life and Family

Born on December 15, 1972, Russell grew up in a loving family comprising his mother, stepfather, and siblings. The reality TV star has shared multiple anecdotes from his childhood that expand on his bond with his family. For instance, when Russell was 12, he and his friend were alone at home and saw his stepfather Brian’s 1972 Pontiac Catalina. The former decided to drive the car to his friend’s house, though he could barely see above the dashboard, given his age. When Russell reached his destination, he came across his family, but surprisingly, his parents even let him drive the car back home.

Russell’s love for his parents, especially his mother, is quite evident. In fact, it was she who taught him how to drive a standard transmission for a road test. Unfortunately, Russell lost his mother to suicide a few years ago; he opened up about the tragedy in 2020 to spread suicide awareness and share his love for his mother. Russell’s stepfather Brian also passed away in October 2021, and the HGTV star could not be more thankful for all the latter had done in his life. The unconditional love that Brian showed Russell since his younger years is something that the ‘Garage Rehab’ cast member truly cherishes.

Russell J. Holmes’ Wife and Kids

Russell J. Holmes married the beautiful Laura Holmes in December 2021. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony attended by those near and dear to them. Laura owns SALT Island Provisions, which trades fine goods handcrafted and sourced from the Florida Keys. Russell also has two sons, Dylan and Zachary, from his previous marriage to Regina T. Purcell. Given his private nature, he has not shared many details about his first marriage, which ended in a divorce.

Nevertheless, the reality TV star adores his children, who are his biggest fans. Moreover, he has two cute dogs named Max and Gus, whom he loves spending time with. We wish Russell and his close ones the best in their life and hope to see more of the talented contractor on-screen in the future.

Is Paige Poupart Married? Who is Her Husband? Does She Have Kids?

    [ad_1]

HGTV’s ‘Renovation Impossible’ is a reality show that addresses one of the most common issues plaguing homeowners. Renovating one’s house is undoubtedly an ambitious project, yet seeing the process through is far from easy. As such many beautiful properties find themselves stuck in the middle of a transformation project, and the renovation series is the perfect solution for many.

The show’s talented team helps the clients restart their abandoned work and turn their dream houses into a reality. One of the most crucial people in the series is designer Paige Poupart, whose vision and artistic skills have helped her gain many fans. Many viewers have praised her work and are curious about the designer’s personal life. If you are in the same boat, here’s everything you need to know about the same!

    Paige Poupart’s Family

Paige Christian Broadbent (now Paige Poupart) was born to Doug Broadbent and Christal Broadbent in 1989. The reality TV star also has a younger sister, Hailey Fidler, who is happily married. The latter turned 30 in February 2022 and has a son whom she cherishes with all her heart. Paige’s love for design mostly comes from her father, Doug, who taught the designer several things she now uses as a part of her work. The ‘Renovation Impossible’ star is quite close to him and thankful for his help and support over the years.

    Paige Poupart’s Ex-Husband

For a long time, Paige Poupart, née Broadbent, was married to Lauren Poupart, who turned 52 in March 2022. The French chef is based in Dallas, Texas, and in his career in the culinary industry, he has worked with well-known names like Mike Moreno, Gerald Ford, Kevin Costner, Cindy Crawford, Kenny G, and Joel Silver. While Paige and Lauren were together, their relationship seemed quite loving.

While the exact details of the relationship have not been revealed much by Paige, she has two daughters named Eloise and Margot from her marriage with Lauren. We believe that the reality TV star separated from her ex-husband sometime in or after 2019, though she has not revealed many details about the same.

    Paige Poupart’s Fiancé And Kids

Since July 4, 2022, Paige has been engaged to Russell Birk, and the two could not be happier. He first appeared on her social media in February 2021, and the two have been going strong ever since. The two soon met each other’s families and were delighted to spend time with them. Russell is the founder of Maya’s Modern Mediterranean, an organization that aims to provide fresh food from Israel and the Mediterranean region in a more modern and efficient manner.

Russell has two children, a son named Oren and a daughter named Maya, and they get along seemingly well with Paige and her daughters. Her younger daughter Margot turned five on January 26, 2022, and the mother could not be prouder. The family loves spending time together; in fact, the five kids were a part of the proposal planned by Birk and could not be happier about combining their families. We wish Paige and her loved ones the best for the future and hope they have a wonderful life ahead.

  • Where is Dr. Steven Hatfill Today? Anthrax Attacks Update

Where is Dr. Steven Hatfill Today? Anthrax Attacks Update

    [ad_1]

With ‘The Anthrax Attacks: In the Shadow of 9/11’ delving deep into the fear that gripped the nation back in 2001, we get a complete insight into the notions of terrorism as well as bioterrorism. That’s because this documentary features not just first-hand accounts but also dramatic recreations to chart the complex investigation into the havoc caused by letters containing anthrax spores. So, of course, there’s a significant focus on once-suspected perpetrator Steven Hatfill — now, if you wish to learn more about him, his experiences, and his current standing, we’ve got you covered.

    Who is Steven Hatfill?

Although born in Saint Louis, Missouri, on October 24, 1953, Steven Jay Hatfill was primarily raised alongside a younger sister in the wonderous city of Mattoon right in Coles County, Illinois. He thus graduated from Mattoon Senior High School in 1971 before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Southwestern College in 1975, only to then enlist in the Army as a private for two years. However, since he’d resolved to become a medical doctor by the time 1978 rolled around, he soon relocated to Africa to study at the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine in Salisbury, Rhodesia.

Steven actually spent 14 months at an Antarctic research base as the resident physician upon completing his initial training, but he realized he still wasn’t satisfied after he returned to Africa. He hence pursued two or three more Master’s degrees in the field of Sciences before trying to obtain a Ph.D. from Rhodes University, yet his final thesis was ultimately marked as failed (1995). He made his way back into the US around this same time and later claimed to have finished his doctorate in Molecular Cell Biology — some other aspects of his resume were beefed up as well.

Therefore, it was in 1997 that Steven was hired as a civilian researcher at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, just to be let go less than two years later. He’d honestly already established a name for himself in the field, so it wasn’t strange for him to be transferred to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) for a consulting job in 1999. However, according to the Netflix production, he’d once been “fired for violating lab procedures,” and then he couldn’t even pass security clearance when he tried to land a contracting job.

A mere month later, the anthrax attacks began, leading many to suspect Steven because he was more than qualified as a physician, pathologist, virologist, and biological weapons expert. The fact he was actually in Britain and Florida, respectively, around the time two letters with fake anthrax were mailed from these precise locations did not help his situation in any manner either. Nor did the fact he’d already gone through a major anthrax outbreak while he was in Africa in the 1970s — he was thus considered a lead suspect for years, that is until the focus shifted to Bruce Ivins.

Where is Dr. Steven Hatfill Now?

Since Dr. Steven’s properties were repeatedly raided, his cellphone was tapped, and he was surveilled for at least two years, he filed a privacy infringement lawsuit against the Justice Department in 2003. This case was settled quietly in 2008, with him receiving a total of $5.8 million as compensation (a lump sum plus an annuity of $150,000 a year for 20 years), enabling him to return to his ordinary life again. We should mention he was also officially exonerated, and so he has since seemingly been dividing his time between Washington as well as Florida to get back on his feet.

From what we can tell, Steven currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in two departments of George Washington University Medical Center, is a National Fellow of the Explorers Club, and is even a Fellow at the London Center for Policy Research. As if that’s not enough, the former Medical Director of EFP Tactical Medical Group is also a Board Member for several non-profit medical organizations and has co-authored the bestselling book on the influenza pandemic, ‘Three Seconds Until Midnight’ (2019).

It’s imperative to mention that Dr. Steve became a COVID advisor to the Trump Administration at the White House in early 2020, soon after which he even backed the former President’s attempt to overturn the election results.

Lilts Announce Debut EP Waiting Around

Lilts, the duo of Laura Wolf and Wild Pink’s John Ross, released “Dodge Street,” their first-ever single together earlier this summer—and we haven’t been able to get enough of it. In heavy anticipation of what’s next to come for the two singer/songwriters, our calls have been answered: A debut EP is on the near horizon. Waiting Around, a collection of four tracks, is set to arrive on October 13 via Better Company Records.

New single “Waiting Around” centers Wolf’s bright angelic falsetto and a shimmering, building guitar instrumental. It expounds on a shoegaze-style arrangement and, to put it plainly, it’s damn beautiful. “Hey, look at you now, you’ve got the world waiting around,” Wolf sings atop swelling, flashy, distorted chords. We can’t wait for Waiting Around next month.
