On Friday, September 8, Donald announced his retirement to the world via a tweet. “After an incredible adventure, I will be retiring from my role as Chief Creative Officer at Epic this month,” he noted.
He went on to look back at his 25 years of professional work in the game industry. However, after listing his numerous achievements he noted that he is especially proud of his work on Fortnite. “I am especially proud of the opportunity I’ve had to help create and shape Fortnite.”
He also talked about the various ground-breaking additions they made to Fortnite ever since the game’s initial release. He further assured the game’s fans saying, “The teams are in the best hands and they are working on huge, jaw-dropping, amazing things!!!
Donald further noted that he was excited to spend time with his wife and family now.

“Thank you for everything Donald, You made almost every kid’s childhood with the amazing game of Fortnite & changed many people’s lives including mine,” one fan wrote in a heartfelt message.
