Fans had been waiting for Drake‘s new album ever since the singer revealed its cover art. With the album finally here, it did not take long for fans to try to decipher the hidden meaning behind it as the song 7969 Santa caught the attention of everyone.
Fans decode Drake’s 7969 Santa lyrics
It is not uncommon for musicians to hide messages in their songs, and social media fans are convinced that Drake did something similar in his 7969 Santa song.
In a series of Reddit threads, users pointed out that 7969 Santa is the address to a restaurant called Delilah in Las Angeles. It also happens to be a place where the singer goes often. Meanwhile, there were others who thought Drake was subtly making a reference to Lilah P, real name Delilah, whom he was rumored to be dating.
Connecting these two dots together, fans seemed certain that Drake was trying to send some message through this song.
What we know about Lilah P
Lilah is a musician who is based in London. With 77.4k followers on Instagram, Lilah is often sharing moments from her personal and professional life on the platform. Drake and she sparked dating rumors when the One Dance singer decided to post a birthday tribute for her on his Instagram story.
However, this was not the first time that Drake did something for her. Previously, he mentioned her by name in his song Who Told You. The lyrics read: “So Lilah Pi, don’t make my eye cry. Let me hold your controller, I’m not one of the controllin’ guys. I want you to touch road with the girls dem, and socialize. Enjoy your life, your backside is so fit, it opens eyes. Lilah was also featured in his cover art for the song Search & Rescue. With these instances, the rumors about them dating were quick to spread online. However, they have not confirmed this.
