A guy has gone viral on TikTok after finding a 9 foot crocodile living in a pond where the whole family swim ‘all the time’.
He was completely unaware that the reptile was there – but social media users say he should expected it seeing as he lives in Florida.
Guy finds 9ft crocodile living in pond
In the viral video, the TikTok user films a large pond in his backyard and says: “We would swim in this pond all the time.”
“Eve uncle Bob would sunbathe out on the pond. Then one morning I spotted this dinosaur,” he continues.
The Florida resident zooms into a huge 9 foot 1 inch crocodile peering right at him eerily from just below the water’s surface.
They safely got him removed from the pond and relocated, and a clip of the croc on the grass shows its sheer size.
“You never know what’s lurkin’ in your backyard pond,” he wrote in the caption with the hashtag: “#closecall.”
‘I wouldn’t trust a puddle in Florida’
The clip has had more than 12.8 million views, but people aren’t very sympathetic in the comments.
One person wrote: “Bro I grew up in Florida and number one rule is there is always one in there.”
“I wouldn’t trust a puddle in Florida,” another agreed.
A third person added: “You live in Florida and you’re surprised you have one in your pond?”
“It blows my mind seeing anyone in water you can’t see the bottom of in Florida,” someone else wrote.
Another commented: “Number one rule of Florida… If there’s water, there’s gators.”
Florida has an estimated 2,000 crocodiles and over one million alligators. It is the only place where they coexist.
