An emotional story about a breakup that’s been nicknamed ‘Lemon Pie’ is making people on TikTok bawl.
The tragic conversation was shared on the platform earlier this week and has already racked up 4.3 million views.

‘Lemon Pie’ story takes over TikTok
The story begins with a girl breaking up with her significant other because she is “in no condition to love right now”.
“You’re perfect, it’s me,” she says. “I love you more than you could imagine, why is why I have to break up with you.”
You soon discover that her nickname is Lemon because she stole lemons from a tree and used them to make a pie.
They talk about how much they love each other and Lemon says not to contact her anymore, but the other texts again and asks why she wasn’t at school.
“Will you promise to never take me out of your heart? Will you promise when you get married, imagine me in the audience,” she replies cryptically.
“I love you. I’ll love you, forever,” Lemon adds. Then, she stops replying.

Emotional tale takes a tragic turn
A while later, the ex-partner receives a message from Lemon’s mom saying she died from coronary artery disease, leading to heart failure.
“You were the last person she texted. I thought you’d deserve to know,” she wrote. “I’ll forward you the details of the funeral.”
The following texts are heartbreaking as the lover continues texting Lemon at key milestones over the following years, saying they met someone and proposed.
Seven years later, the person is diagnosed with heart cancer and says: “Maybe our hearts are linked after all.”
Right at the end, they pick some lemons and say “very soon I will see you again” as they are given just two weeks to live.
TikTok users are ‘sobbing’
The heart-wrenching story has had TikTok users in tears and people are saying it’s worse than a similar story that went viral last week.
‘I peeled my orange today’ was an emotional tale about navigating life after a breakup and finally being able to move on.
One person commented: “I’m sobbing, this was so much sadder than ‘I peeled my orange today’.”
“I just broke up with my boyfriend and can’t stop crying,” said another.
A third person added: “This made ‘I peeled my orange today’ look like a fairytale.”
“This hits way harder than the ‘I peeled my orange’ video,” someone else said.
