Instagram is not sharing stories to Facebook in 2023
Instagram users took to Twitter to ask one another about the status of their Instagram stories, which aren’t getting posted to Facebook as they are supposed to.
The popular feature isn’t working for some despite tweaking the settings, which is supposed to push the temporary posts from Instagram to Facebook automatically.
One user shared: “Why is my Instagram now not sharing stories to Facebook? It’s all fully connected with the setting on but it just will not do it.”
When another seconded the above Tweet saying: “Happening to me too. I’ve tried sharing it manually and even tried changing the setting to share to Facebook again but automatically goes back to not sharing. Hopefully, it’s sorted soon.”
“So it’s not just me, I’ve been trying everything,” read one comment.
Instagram or Facebook haven’t addressed the issue at the time of writing this article.
Why your stories are not appearing on both apps simultaneously
Your stories on Instagram may not be getting shared to Facebook automatically if you’ve turned on the option under your Privacy settings. Follow the below steps to enable it.
- Tap the profile icon on the bottom right of your profile.
- Select the hamburger icon and tap on Settings and Privacy.
- Under Privacy, select Story.
- Scroll down to the Sharing option and toggle Share your story to Facebook.
Your stories from Instagram won’t appear on Facebook if the option isn’t enabled.
You can also share your stories manually by tapping below Your Story and then selecting the Sharing options. You can select from Share to Facebook Every Time or Share Once, according to your preference.
If your Instagram stories are still not showing, a potential bug could be responsible for the glitch. You can try the below potential fixes until Meta rectifies the issue.
- Log out of the app and log back into it.
- Close the app and open it again.
- Check if you have uninterrupted mobile data/wifi.
- Ensure you’re using the latest version of the app.
