Jane Boutique, which had the Jane.com website, surprised all the customers and sellers with its sudden shutdown as they looked for answers.
Online shopping has become quite a popular trend and people are often looking for websites that are giving a platform to women-owned businesses. One such website that took social media by storm was Jane.com, which has now unexpectedly shut down.
Money Saving Mom, a brand that had partnered with Jane.com recently revealed that they received a couple of emails from the website stating that it would be down for maintenance. While it seemed strange given that it was Black Friday week, the sellers did not question too much.
Fast forward to this week, the sellers and customers were informed that the company had shut down. However, when they approached the company to seek some answers, all their questions were dodged.
Now, customers and sellers have been coming forward and sharing their tales.
Police have opened an investigation
The Lehi Police Department has launched an investigation against the company after several sellers and customers came forward with their complaints.
After hearing what happened with the brand, people were quick to react on social media with one writing: “Down for maintenance”… Well that would explain why I abruptly stopped getting emails.” “They owe us $20,000!,” wrote a brand on TikTok.
“Well that explains why the app died and I was trying to use it last night,” said one more. “I don’t think closing will protect them the lawsuits… hoping the business owners who sold on the site can band together,” said another. “I’m surprised Jane lasted this long. Things were way overpriced and shipping took forever. Interested to see what happens!” said another one.
