Lil Tay’s estimated net worth

A number of outlets have estimated Lil Tay’s net worth to be around $500,000, which was accumulated through her success as a child rapper and internet star.

However, her net worth could have been staggeringly higher if she never quit fame as the kid was hugely popular in the peak of her career.

The 14-year-old began posting online in 2017 when she was just nine years old and gained success posing with luxury vehicles and wearing designer clothes on Instagram.

She then began posting rap videos on YouTube which accumulated millions of views, but her career was short-lived and she stopped posting in 2018.

Inside her career

Lil Tay, whose real name is Claire Hope, was born in 2008 or 2009 to mother Angela Tian, a former real estate agent, and father Christopher Hope, a lawyer.

She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Vancouver, Canada, at an early age. When she grew on social media, she then moved to Los Angeles with her mother.

Her popularity soared when famous YouTube RiceGum created a video criticizing, and she racked up more than 2.4 million Instagram followers in just a few months.

In 2018, she had her own three-episode TV documentary called Life with Lil Tay which delved into her rise to fame, and she filmed with other big internet stars like Jake Paul and Bhad Bhabie.

However, in June of the same year, her Instagram and YouTube were completely wiped to ‘rebrand’ her image. Then, she stopped posting altogether.

Lil Tay’s brother dies

Over the years, many reports claimed that Lil Tay’s brother Jason Tian ran her social media accounts. The Instagram statement reveals that he has died too.

“Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief,” it says. However, a cause of death was not given.

The statement claims that “circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation”.

“During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss,” it continues.

“Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”
