How to grow sprouts on the rapper’s terra cotta figurine

According to the Chia Pet website, the sprouts coming out of the rapper’s head will achieve a “chart-topping growth” within 2 weeks.

All you need to do is spread the seeds, water them, and watch the leafy green hair grow out of the terra cotta figure. Follow the below instructions.

  1. Submerge the Chia Pet in water completely and let it soak for half an hour.
  2. Mix two teaspoons of chia seeds with 2 tablespoons or 1/8 cup of water in a separate container. Wait five minutes before stirring the mixture to get a jam-like consistency.
  3. Strain the seeds and let them sit for two to three minutes before spreading an even layer on the figurine.
  4. Do not water the seeds for 2 days. On the third day, fill Chia Pet with water using the hole at the top of the planter and place it in the drip tray.
  5. Cover the Chia Pet with a plastic bag loosely placed over it at night and remove it in the morning to create a greenhouse effect. Ensure the bag doesn’t touch the seeds.
  6. Add fresh water to Chia Pet every day as you empty the drip tray and the seeds should sprout in about three to four days.
  7. When the sprouts appear overgrown, remove the old growth and replant the seeds. The planter can be reused indefinitely.
