Video of Randolph White’s interview discussing the F-35 plane crash goes viral, with people calling it “must-see” and the “soundbite of the year”.
Earlier this week, an F-35 belonging to Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort went missing. Bizarrely, the United States military asked members of the public to help locate the jet after they somehow managed to lose track of it.
Debris of missing F-35 found in South Carolina field
The story quickly grabbed the attention of the country. Eventually, the wreckage was found in a rural area of South Carolina in Williamsburg County. It emerged that the pilot, who has not been identified, had to eject from the aircraft, leaving it on autopilot, for an unknown reason.
The pilot was located in a residential area in North Charleston on Sunday afternoon and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Randolph White gives legendary interview recreating sound of F-35 plane crash
WBTW subsequently headed to the area to report on the news and accidentally landed a legendary interview with Randolph White, a 71-year-old retired paper mill worker who’s lived with his wife in Georgetown, SC for the last decade.
White told the local news station that he heard a presumed F-35 jet crash outside his home while he was “taking a shave”. However, he didn’t call anyone because he didn’t know what it was.
“I was in the bathroom, taking a shave, and I heard a screeching. Between a screech and a whistle [imitates the noise of the F-35]. I said, ‘What in the world is this?’ I heard a boom! Then my whole house shook,” White said.
“The first thought that came to me… I said, ‘Well, did a meteorite come from outer space or something?’ And I said, ‘Well, if it was an airplane, it needs to be reported because that thing was flying just too low. I knew it was low because my house is pretty solid, and it shook.”
People are calling Randolph White’s interview “the soundbite of the year”
When White saw helicopters he thought “someone must have robbed a bank, kill some people”. But he eventually realized authorities were searching for the plane.
“Just through the grace of God, nobody didn’t get hurt,” White said. “Because there’s a church right up there, about a half mile.”
During the interview White made a screeching noise not too dissimilar to R2-D2. Now, social media can’t get enough of him.
People were calling it “must-see TV”, “the soundbite of the year” and the “best video they’ve seen this week”.
Barstool Sports shared the footage with the caption: ‘Randolph White with an ALL TIME recreation of the F-35 crash.’
What a legend.
