How the rumors started
The rumor about Rachel being fired from Snow White started on TikTok when people came across a video claiming the same. Slowly, similar videos alleging her firing popped up on other platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.
Some claimed that Rachel’s ethnicity had been the reason for her firing as people were not pleased with a Latina actor taking on the role of Snow White. Meanwhile, there were other clips that claimed Rachel’s ‘unlikable’ behavior led to the firing.
In reality, these are just rumors that started on social media.
Rachel Zelger had opened up about her role
Unlike what social media claims, there has been no confirmation about Rachel’s firing from Disney’s Snow White. In reality, the actress had opened up about her upcoming role in an interview with Variety.
Rachel confirmed that her Snow White was not going to be saved by a prince and reflected on how the story would be different.
She said: “I just mean that it’s no longer 1937, and we absolutely wrote a Snow White that is…She is not going to be saved by the prince and she is not going to be dreaming about true love.” Rachel further noted that the story would be a “new modern edge to Snow White.”
