The rising AI generation tool has wowed users with the latest update that creates moving image so realistic it makes you double-take.

Runway AI has been making AI video-making easier than ever

Tastemakers in the AI industry, Runway AI launched its latest XX in March 2023 and allows users to create four-second-long videos from a prompt, either completely from scratch or by altering an added image. Mainly, the AI videos appeared like a camera panning around.

In August, the videos were extended to 18 seconds. An update in September, titled ‘Director Mode’ allowed users to select the direction and speed of the camera movement in the videos.

Runway AI is available for anyone to use online and offers a free trail to new users. 

Filmmakers have been impressed by the latest Motion Brush feature

A new update on November 20 has allowed users to take their AI film-making to an insane level, with the motion brush feature. The feature lets users highlight an object in an image and add motion to only that part, selecting a direction and intensity too.

“Today we’re releasing new features and updates to provide more control, greater fidelity and even more expressiveness when using Runway,” shared the company on X. 

The feature has been praised by AI video creators for its accurate results, adding movement to objects and people instead of the entire image. Creators say it’s an impressive step in using AI for storytelling purposes. 

“This marks the beginning of something really exciting for everyone with storytelling skills and needs,” shared tech journalist Barsee on X.

AI filmmakers have been trying out Reality AI’s new feature to make unbelievable work

The new Motion Brush feature has been letting avid AI creators make short films that undeniably make you question if it’s even AI.

Take George PU, for example, who used Runway AI to create a futuristic version of Dubai with flying cars.

This AI created video of a moving bird using the tool from Runway could even rival Mother Nature.

@FofrAi used the AI tool to create a clip of a woman looking up at a moving UFO in the sky. It looks like it could be a movie scene.

Jesus Plaza captured a romantic kiss between a couple in the city at nighttime, using AI to generate moving cars in the background.
