The co-founder of the Sam and Colby channel had quite the surprise when staff at a ‘conjuring house’ claimed a spirit had read out the name Libby Golbach.
The Sam and Colby channel is one of the most popular reality horror spots on the internet, with millions of viewers tuning in every week to see the pair explore abandoned sites and haunt ghosts and supernatural beings. But the YouTube channel’s co-founder, Sam Golbach, got more than what he bargained for on a trip to a haunted house. He struggled to contain his emotions when supposedly otherworldly communicators revealed his late grandmother’s name, ‘Libby’.

During their latest vlog, Golbach and his partner in crime Colby Brock took it upon themselves to spend a week in The Conjuring House. It’s the home of the iconic 2013 horror flick and supposed host to ‘many spirits’ and active ‘paranormal activity’.
In what has become rather standard practice on the Sam and Colby channel, the pair took it upon themselves to try and reach out to people or spirits from another realm. Armed with two members of staff from the Conjuring House who claimed to have had success with such activities in the past, Sam and Colby watched on in horror as the ouija style experiment played out in front of their eyes.
The staff, who admit they are not ‘mediums’ (meaning people who claim they can speak to dead people), were reluctant to put a label on the activity. They referred to the process simply as ‘a weird thing we do’, as they proceeded to hold one another by the wrists, repeatedly reciting the alphabet until they heard a noise from inside the house. They took it as an indication to stop and add to the word they were spelling out.
The mood of the video took a sudden turn, as it became clear that the name the supposed spirit inside the house was spelling out was Libby Golbach, who fans of the channel will know is Sam’s late grandmother. Taken aback and overwhelmed by what he was hearing and witnessing, Sam proceeded to break down in tears. The Conjuring House staff paused the experiment while the depleted YouTuber explained the emotional significance of his grandmother.

Not only was Libby Sam’s grandmother, the YouTuber explained, but she is consistently credited with being one of the main reasons why the social media star has gotten where he is today.
“My grandma affected me a lot,” explained an emotional Sam, still reeling from the shock of the Conjuring House incident. “She taught me everything to do with appreciation and loving life.”
“Literally, her last words before she died were ‘onward and upward’, and that is a slogan that Colby and I used for the first five years of our career, because of how much that impacted us.
The 26-year-old took solace in the fact that his grandmother’s name revealed itself, in what he claimed was a sign that she is “still watching over” him.
TikTok reacts to Sam and Colby’s spooky ‘Libby’ run in
The emotional moment has quickly gone viral, racking up over 3.7 million views as it sits at the top of the Trending page on YouTube, just a day after being uploaded.
And the Sam and Colby stans over on TikTok were equal parts devastated and delighted for Sam, as they reacted to clips of his latest video.
“I cried first (because) of Sam being sad” Admitted one viewer. “But even after that I was still crying not only because Sam was sad but also because it made me think of my grandparents”.
“I started sobbing” wrote another devasted fan. “As soon as I saw Libby go I know it would say Golbach. They are so real and I cant even fathom how Sam, Colby and Zach must’ve felt”.
Promoting the video on Twitter, the YouTube duo claimed their “entire career has led to this moment”, promising that they “truly believe this video changes everything.”
