Taylor Swift thanks Sam Lansky

“Sam Lansky has such a wondrous way with words, and I’ve loved reading his pieces for over a decade,” the Karma singer wrote.

“If you’ve ever been around him, you know he’s just the best type of person: Curious. Interested. Hilarious. Intriguing and intrigued.”

She said she has “trust issues” when it comes to interviews but “couldn’t be happier” with the one she did with him.

The star was “blown away” to see quotes from people she adores including Stevie Nicks, Greta Gerwig, Shonda Rhimes and Phoebe Bridgers.

“I was so happy he spoke to fans Madison and McCall who were so eloquent, loyal, and kind,” she continued.

In an Instagram post, the journalist said he had the “time of his life” writing the article and thanked everyone who “helped along the way”.

Who is Sam Lansky?

Lansky is an American journalist, author and editor who has worked for Time magazine, New York magazine, The Atlantic and Esquire.

The 35-year-old grew up with his father in Manhattan and struggled with drug addiction in his early teens.

After getting sober, he attended The New School and graduated with a degree in creative writing before becoming a freelance music critic.

He then began working with Time, where he has interviewed some huge names including Madonna, Nicki Minaj and Adele.

The journalist released a memoir about his teenage years called The Gilded Razor in 2016 which delves into his addiction.

He also released a novel called Broken People in 2020 and was the ghostwriter for Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me in 2023.

Time’s ‘Person of the Year’ interview

Taylor Swift’s Time interview delves into her whole life, beginning when she was 17 and asked to open for country superstar Kenny Chesney on tour.

She thought this was going to launch her career, but then found out she was too young to take part as the tour was sponsored by a beer company.

Months later, Chesney sent her a cheque as an apology which fuelled her dreams – and the rest is history!

Taylor goes on to discuss some of the biggest highs and lows of her career, including the sale of her masters.

Other key takeaways are her feud with Kim and Kanye, re-recording her albums, The Eras Tour and Travis Kelce romance.
