A TikTok video posted by @triggerprotuberances shows a young boy running in the streets of South America, while a gigantic snake slithers behind.
The viral clip has currently reached over 27 million views, more than two million likes along with a comment section full of both horror and hilarious reactions.
Shown in the terrifying TikTok post is the text reading: “Tf going on in South America?”
Gigantic snake scares TikTok viewers but some suspect AI
Comments beneath the popular TikTok video have viewers debating whether or not the snake footage is real or fake.
A user named @John suggested that the reptile shown in the clip is known as “the Kodiak snake.”
Like many AI videos with today’s modern technology, some are very believable. A TikTok user stated that it is hard to tell the difference between what is real and fake: “I can’t tell if these videos are real or not anymore lol they’re so crazy.”
Another user named @greg questioned: “Is that a real snake? I’m sorry I’m really tired.”
@kellylcbrl14 wrote: “I think it’s real as you can see the snake’s tongue. Scary!”
Many viewers quickly came to the conclusion that the video must not be real, commenting on how it is moving so slowly towards the young boy: “This can’t be real? Like the way it’s moving”
A comment by @jessienix588 hinted that the clip was created using AI, sarcastically asking: “The snake didn’t notice the cameraman?”
