Beloved pet doctor Aaron Bivens’ sudden death in drowning accident has clients heartbroken


A beloved veterinarian from Las Vegas Dr Aaron Bivens tragically died after an accident and many of his clients as well as friends are mourning his sudden death.

The popular veterinarian had a massive following of over 12K on Instagram. The doctor who hailed from Riverside, California worked at the South Buffalo Springs Hospital in Nevada. The news of his tragic death surfaced after his friends, clients and others in the medical community posted the news on Facebook.

Meet Aaron Bivens

Dr. Bivens was a popular pet doctor in Las Vegas. His bio on the South Buffalo Springs Hospital notes that he wanted to become a veterinarian since the age of six. He decided on his pursuit in life after he lost his pet cat. He became a veterinarian with the goal of helping every pet in need and beginning them back to good health.

Dr Bivens studied veterinary medicine at Tuskegee University. During his time at the university, he also played baseball. He graduated with flying colors and the ACVIM Clinical Excellence Award as well as the AAHA Small Animal Medicine Achievement Award.

His passion for pets and animals seeps through his Instagram posts. He has featured his adorable little patients in several posts. He also spread his knowledge about pets and how to deal with them via his videos. The doctor also had two English Bulldogs, Chubbs and Slim.

Dr Aaron Bivens’ death was caused due to a drowning accident

Facebook user and Las Vegas community member, Randy Sutton took to Facebook on Tuesday, August 1 to reveal that Dr Bivens had died in a tragic drowning accident.

Randy revealed that Dr Bivens had ‘drowned’ while swimming in Lake Mead. He further noted that the veterinarian’s body was discovered today. He was truly an individual who touched “thousands and thousands of lives through his empathy and caring” Randy said.

Another one of Dr Bivens’s clients said “We have lived in Vegas for the past 6 years, we have seen Dr Bivens for our boys and our cats… He is an amazing doctor.” The client further went on revealing “Today I received an email from the clinic informing me that he passed away from a tragic accident.” The client expressed they were “shocked and so saddened.”

I’m so very sad to report the death of a friend and a comrade. Dr. Aaron Bivens, who was not only an incredible veterinarian but also I reserve police officer who cared so much about the law enforcement community. Dr. Bivens was a huge supporter of The Wounded Blue  and gave himself in so very many ways. Dr. Bivens drowned in a terrible accident in Lake Mead over the weekend. He truly left a legacy of kindness and caring both to his human friends and animals. Rest in peace brother.

Tributes pour in for the veterinarian

“Grace and peace to all those family, friends and clients alike. It would seem Dr Aaron Biven’s is a tragic loss to the community at large,” a Facebook user said.

“So very sad. Not only sad to lose a kind human but Vegas can’t afford to lose the rare vets that actually care. May his memory be eternal,” second person expressed.

“His brilliance was matched only by his kindness and compassion. As a dedicated professional, he was a true advocate for his patients,” Durango Animal Hospital and Pet Hotel from Nevada wrote.

“To our amazing vet. Dr. Aaron Bivens from South Buffalo Springs Animal Hospital. Our hearts are heavy with the news of your passing,” another client wrote.

“Not just a Great Veterinary Dr, but truly a wonderful human being with great bedside manner and a true love for all animals,” a fourth client said.
