Seeing Wolverine sleeveless is just one of many things people want to see in «Deadpool 3.» But even being granted that gift wasn’t enough for some. Over on X (formerly known as Twitter), @MattTheater wrote, «They didn’t show Wolverine with his iconic cowl, but the suit is really very very beautiful.» More than likely, Logan will don his mask at some point, as a cup unveiled at CinemaCon showed Wolverine in his full suit, complete with mask. People just need to learn to be patient, as the movie should keep at least a few things hidden until it’s actually in theaters.

What’s somewhat odd to see is how much stock people put into a character’s sleeves, regardless of how accurate it is to the comics. Take this post from @ZeoRanger7Brown: «I’m so pumped because Wolverine HAS NO SLEEVES!!!! This movie is gonna be epic.» Intentionally or not, the post does seem to imply the movie will be good in part because Wolverine takes off the sleeves at some point. But sleeves have nothing to do with a movie’s quality. Greater emphasis should always be allotted to character development and a strong story. No sleeves are a fun treat for comic book readers, but even if he wore sleeves the entire time, it would have zero impact on the film’s quality. 

The «Deadpool 3» trailer showcases the titular character’s classic profane sense of humor and genuine emotional stakes, with the Merc with a Mouth wanting to save those he loves. We’ll just have to see how everything comes together when «Deadpool & Wolverine» comes out on July 26.

«Old Man Logan» is essential reading to understanding 2017’s «Logan,» but it may also come into play with «Deadpool & Wolverine.» Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) mentions how this Wolverine let down his universe. «Old Man Logan» sees the character slaughter his fellow X-Men after Mysterio manipulates him. It’s possible «Deadpool & Wolverine» will change this up a bit, and the backstory will be that Wolverine killed the Avengers in his universe after falling under Cassandra Nova’s influence. The movie’s trailer illustrates how she can control him pretty easily.

The giant Ant-Man skull in the «Deadpool 3» trailer isn’t the only cool thing from that shot. People on social media have also pointed out how there’s a bevy of supervillains outside the base. The right side has Azazel with his unmistakable red skin, and the left side seems to have Lady Deathstrike with her claws protruding. It’s unclear if they’re played by the same actors who portrayed them in earlier X-Men films.

Plus, there’s one other spot in the trailer where Ant-Man’s skeleton plays a role. As Deadpool and Wolverine leap into a portal made by sorcerers, they jump from one of Ant-Man’s eye holes. You can see the deceased superhero’s hands in the background when the angle changes. Given how much the trailers have shown already, it’s intriguing to consider what outrageous «Deadpool 3» cameos Marvel Studios is hiding from us.

«Watchmen» could have been a different beast altogether if Tom Cruise had starred in the film. One of the most bankable actors of all time, Cruise’s inclusion in the film, especially as the non-masked Ozymandias, could have elevated the film’s financial viability. «Watchmen» grossed shy of $190 million worldwide, emerging as one of Zack Snyder’s biggest box office flops. Despite poor financial receipts, «Watchmen» stands out as a cult favorite for Snyder fans and is one of the most interesting and bold films in the superhero canon.

In a chat with Newsday in 2009, Snyder admitted that he had difficulty casting Ozymandias because of how unique the character’s traits were. «We were having a hard time casting [the role], because we needed someone handsome, beautiful and sophisticated, and that’s a tough combo,» Snyder said. While he was probably intrigued with tackling a complex character like Rorschach, it’s unclear why Cruise didn’t jump for the Ozymandias role. On paper, Cruise is the perfect choice for Ozymandias, a character who is known for his charm and striking looks. There’s no better fit for that description than Cruise, but alas, the «Mission: Impossible» actor wasn’t interested. «Watchmen» would have also served as the actor’s superhero debut, something fans have been wanting to see for years. 

It’s unclear how the actor started chatting with the director about «Watchmen,» but it probably stemmed from the surprising phone call Snyder received from Cruise thanks to «300» and its wild success. 

We’ve seen it in plenty of blurry snaps, which led even Ryan Reynolds to leak his own set photos to outscoop the spoilers, but this new trailer finally gives us a glimpse of Logan in his classic X-Men outfit, and it was well worth the wait. Among the carnage, Hugh Jackman is looking right at home in the costume fans have wanted to see him in since he wandered onto our screens in 2000’s «X-Men.» Admit it, bub. It’s a perfect fit.

Of course, the brilliant back-and-forth he seems to be having with Wade, which is mainly a testament to Jackman and Reynolds’ brilliant chemistry, makes things all the more enjoyable. Given that the two spend very little time together in «X-Men Origins: Wolverine,» the Shawn Levy-directed threequel is making up for lost time with laughs and plenty of meta gags related to the franchise they’re leaving behind and the new one they’re about to tear up.

There will also be plenty of all-but-confirmed cameos, with recent CinemaCon footage showing that Chris Hemsworth’s Thor will return (but not how you think). You’ll be able to see if the mutants are greeted into the MCU with open arms when «Deadpool & Wolverine» hits theaters on July 26.

When the world got its first look at the MCU’s Fantastic Four, the biggest takeaway was that the film isn’t set in the present. Shortly after, a «Fantastic Four» rumor explained the Marvel reboot’s 1960 setting; it’s not the ’60s from the main timeline but from a different dimension. As a result, this could mean that while Garner’s character might be the Silver Surfer in their reality, whoever ends up being Norrin Radd could be the one on Earth-616, where Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and other heroes call home.

With this in mind, there’s every chance that by the end of the superteam’s debut, they may find themselves flung into Earth-616 permanently and, therefore, leave behind one Silver Surfer (Shalla-Bal) in place of a new one (Norinn Radd). It’s all very bonkers but fitting for the Fantastic Four, who regularly wander in and out of alternate dimensions. Having the same happen on-screen wouldn’t be a push. We are in the Multiverse Saga, after all. We’ll have to see which surfer we meet when «Fantastic Four» arrives in theaters on July 25, 2025.

Nude scene aside, «True Detective» Season 1 was a huge propelling force for Alexandra Daddario’s career in the coming years. She was featured in «American Horror Story: Hotel,» as well as film comedies like «Baywatch» and «The Layover,» although the latter two were both critical and commercial failures. Before she knew it, the forward momentum that seemed to emerge from «True Detective» fizzled out, and Daddario ended up feeling a little directionless in her career.

As she described to Women’s Health, «In the couple years prior to the pandemic, I knew the work I needed to be doing, but it just wasn’t happening.» She often found herself typecast in roles that required her to show off her body like in «True Detective,» resulting in prominent bathing suit scenes in both «Baywatch» and «The Layover.» Clearly, becoming a celebrity with sex appeal was something Daddario had to get used to if her career was going to continue down that path. 

Fortunately, she was saved thanks to a phone call from Mike White, who invited her to join the cast of his new HBO series, «The White Lotus,» which was filming in Hawaii. Though it was a difficult shoot due to COVID-19 restrictions, it was well worth the opportunity to be a part of what soon would become one of the hottest new shows on TV. 

As it turns out, the «Blair Witch Project» reboot isn’t solely responsible for Joshua Leonard’s frustration. As he claims in his Instagram post, there have been issues with the business side of the film since the very beginning. «BWP’s OG distributor claimed to have released the most profitable independent film ever (bought for 1M, grossed 250M+), while internally they told us that they were actually losing money from marketing expenses,» he said, noting that he and the «Blair Witch Project» team were even told that they might end up owing the original distributor, Artisan Entertainment.

Leonard detailed even more frustrating situations brought on by those tasked with handling directors Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez’s horror flick. He and his castmates had to regain the rights to their names, as the studio filed trademarks on them since they were used in the film. Also, Hollywood insiders told the press that the actors were paid $4 million as a buyout of their ownership points when, in reality, they only made $300,000. «It’s 25 years of disrespect from the folks who’ve pocketed the lion’s share (pun intended) of the profits from OUR work, and that feels both icky and classless,» Leonard concluded.

Hopefully, Joshua Leonard and those at Lionsgate can find common ground in due time. Additionally, should the «Blair Witch Project» remake follow in its predecessor’s footsteps and turn out to be a movie that becomes an unexpected blockbuster, those involved should receive fair compensation and the utmost respect.

Many of the central stars in the AI trailer were major names in the 1990s. However, there are also some truly surprising choices, especially when it comes to the supporting cast. Consider Vin Diesel playing Black Adam. This is likely a cheeky reference to Diesel’s feud with Dwayne Johnson (who plays the character in «Black Adam») since the Fast and the Furious franchise star wasn’t exactly a household name in the 1990s. Diesel’s «Saving Private Ryan» co-star Matt Damon is also an inspired choice to play Robin, as he spent the 1990s making movies like «Good Will Hunting» and «The Talented Mr. Ripley» instead of the more action-oriented roles he started taking in the 2000s. Your mileage may also vary about «Friends»-era Jennifer Aniston as Harley Quinn, bona fide star Uma Thurman as the relatively minor character Huntress, or Richard Gere as John Constantine.  

On the other hand, there are roles that the trailer absolutely nails. Christopher Lee would have made a truly imposing Alfred Pennyworth. Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze, Winona Ryder, and «Buffy the Vampire Slayer» star Sarah Michelle Gellar are pretty neat choices as Nightwing, Green Arrow, Batgirl, and Black Canary, respectively. Russell Crowe’s Hawkman would essentially be his «Gladiator» character with wings, while Sean Connery as Superman’s dad Jor-El would be a fun take on Connery and Cage’s dynamic in «The Rock.»  

Perhaps the most interesting choices the trailer makes are the main villains. Based on his turn as Green Goblin alone, it’s probably safe to say that Willem Dafoe as the Joker would be terrifying … as would John Malkovich as Lex Luthor.

One face that keeps coming up to scare us senseless in Marvel Studios’ brilliant animated series, «X-Men ’97,» is Nathaniel Essex, better known as Mr. Sinister. Making his first full-fledged appearance in «The Uncanny X-Men» #221 in 1987, the bad guy so evil he’s even torn his cape to ribbons has been a recurring presence in the new show and could just as well be a prominent threat when the X-Men make it back to live-action. Of the many major villains who have caused issues for Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, Sinister has yet to make a film appearance, and if Cavill was called with the offer, it seems like there’s a good chance he’d relish the opportunity to break bad again.

Having already dabbled with being a duplicitous villain as August Walker in «Mission: Impossible — Fallout,» Cavill has shown he can (quite literally) twirl his mustache maniacally if he wants to. As for the possibility of Sinister coming to the big screen, the ending of «X-Men: Apocalypse» limply hinted at the character’s arrival in a tease that amounted to nothing. Since then, reports have suggested that Marvel Studios’ «X-Men» reboot may feature the iconic villain, after a plan to introduce him at the end of «The New Mutants» was also scrapped. Plus, if Cavill’s time as Geralt has shown us anything, it’s that he can look good when he’s angry, pale, and with deathly black eyes. Now that’s Sinister.

Following up on the recent revelation of the team-up that never came to be, Entertainment Tonight asked Kevin Costner directly about taking over the gig that Chris Hemsworth missed out on.

Assessing the role, Costner explained, «It’s a love story, but as long as I’m still young enough to play it, I’ll play it. Chris will have to wait his turn.» Even so, the enthusiasm for the part expressed by the star who missed out on the role was appreciated, and Costner had nothing but good things to say about Hemsworth and his reputation in Hollywood.

«He’s so handsome, and he’s so good,» the «Horizon» director said of Hemsworth. «He’s going to have to go find his [own] love story. [But] I’m glad he likes this one. If I reach a moment where I [don’t] think I could do that, I would [reach out]. He’s certainly one of our great leading men right now.» Whenever this unnamed project enters production, it’ll most likely be after Costner has fully released «Horizon: An American Saga,» which is currently scheduled to ride into theaters on June 28, with the second part wandering in behind it on August 16.

Robert Redford is a movie star in every sense of the word. His career has lasted for more than 60 years, and he was already in his early 30s when he starred as the Sundance Kid alongside Paul Newman’s Butch Cassidy. Though Newman sadly passed away in 2008, Redford is still alive and well at 87.

Running down Redford’s storied career would take all day. After capturing audiences’ hearts in «Butch Cassidy,» he went on to star in other classics like «The Sting,» «Three Days of the Condor,» «The Natural,» «All the President’s Men,» «Spy Game,» and «Sneakers.» You could watch every Robert Redford movie and rarely find a true dud, which is a testament to his onscreen charisma regardless of the material at hand. Eventually, Redford also took up directing and producing, winning an Oscar in 1981 for his feature directorial debut, «Ordinary People.»

Now in his later years, Redford has continued to take on prominent roles, even appearing as the villainous Alexander Pierce in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He announced his retirement in 2018 following the release of «The Old Man and the Gun,» which was set to be his final film, but he later said that he regretted doing so. With luck, that means that we still haven’t seen Robert Redford’s final performance.

AI optical illusions have blown up the Internet no doubt thanks to a plethora of apps that make such images easier to create than ever. That being said, the technology still has a ways to go to produce genuinely impressive results, the gimmick with most of these being that viewers must squint their eyes to where they’re practically closed to see the intended effect. Additionally, the content of the images tends to be utterly horrifying. But while two Cronenbergian women holding pizza is one thing, a far more obscure trend is taking over social media.

As detailed by author Jason Pargin on TikTok, numerous Facebook accounts have begun posting AI-generated images of Jesus Christ, many of which feature sea creatures. Despite how off-putting they can be, they often receive thousands of likes, which begs the question of if those likes come from bots. And if bots are also creating these images, then Facebook is filled with posts of bots liking other bots’ content, meaning the Dead Internet theory is alive and well. And yet plenty of real Facebook users are interacting with posts of shrimp Jesus as well.

If the idea that AI is creating more content than human beings terrifies you, you’re not alone. Nicolas Cage himself detests AI, telling Yahoo! Entertainment, «AI is a nightmare to me. It’s inhumane.» So let it be a comfort to all that even though his Superman cameo was among the most embarrassing CGI moments in «The Flash,» it wasn’t generated by artificial intelligence.

In the decades since «Beetlejuice» brought laughs and frights to the silver screen, Geena Davis has expanded her filmography tremendously — narrowly avoiding having her career ruined by a pirate adventure movie along the way. She has appeared prominently in such cinematic classics as «Thelma & Louise,» the true story-based «A League of Their Own,» and «The Long Kiss Goodnight,» and also left her mark on the television scene via «Commander in Chief,» «The Exorcist,» and «Grey’s Anatomy.» Unsurprisingly, Davis will continue to add plenty more credits to her impressive résumé.

First and foremost is a feature written and directed by none other than «The Batman» star Zoë Kravitz. «Blink Twice» follows a waitress who falls for a tech businessman, leading her to travel with him to his private island and quickly realize that the situation is not as it seems. Davis joins the likes of Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie in a currently undisclosed role. She’s also slated to appear in some capacity in director Leena Yadav’s «Cowgirl’s Last Ride.» Davis’ latest credit as of publication is the 2023 drama «Fairyland» from director Andrew Durham, where she plays Munca.

Evidently, when it comes to finding acting work, Geena Davis is doing just fine. Still, it stands to reason that when «Beetlejuice Beetlejuice» arrives on September 5, her absence will be felt.
