Found or Missing? Is She Dead or Alive? Update

    [ad_1]

Celina Mays was only 12-years-old when she seemingly vanished from her bedroom in Willingboro, New Jersey, in December 1996. In the years that followed, loved ones and authorities continued to look for her. Celina’s story is one of the two cases featured on Investigation Discovery’s ‘In Pursuit With John Walsh: Unforgotten.’ The viewers learn the circumstances leading up to her disappearance and the various avenues the police followed. So, let’s find out more about this case then, shall we?

    What Happened to Celina Mays?

Celina Janette Mays was born in May 1984 to CJ Mays and Lynn Vitale. At the time of the incident, Celina was living with her father’s family in Willingboro, New Jersey, and grew up in a sheltered and religious environment; she was homeschooled. By all accounts, the 12-year-old seemed like a happy kid living in the suburbs who sang in the church choir. However, at the time of her disappearance, Celina was nine months pregnant and was due to give birth in two weeks.

On December 15, 1996, Celina and the rest of the family attended church. Once they returned, they proceeded to have ice cream, and the young girl went to her bedroom sometime around 11 pm. Until then, everything seemed normal. But when Celina’s stepsister went to wake her up the following day, she was nowhere to be seen. Pillows were placed under the blanket to make it seem like someone was sleeping, and all of her belongings were left behind. Celina seemingly disappeared into the night with only the clothes on her back.

Is Celina Mays Dead or Alive?

Initially, the authorities looked into finding the identity of Celina’s unborn child’s father. According to the family, she never mentioned who it was, only saying it was a 16-year-old and not a member of the church they were a part of. CJ stated that Celina didn’t want the identity to be known and was angry upon learning the baby’s blood tests could reveal it. At one point, he believed that Celina planned on leaving home. Even though Celina was only 12, abortion was not an option, given the family’s religious beliefs.

The Mays were part of the Gospel of Christ Ministry, with CJ’s sister, Serita Smith, being the pastor. Church dominated the family’s lives, and there were reports that Serita was controlling and oversaw every detail of the church and family. Furthermore, the Mays and Serita weren’t cooperative with the authorities. They also learned of the issues between CJ and Lynn’s families. When Lynn died in 1994, her family tried to gain custody of Celina; they said that CJ had a criminal history, used drugs, and was involved in domestic violence. However, CJ claimed that he was a changed man after finding religion.

Ultimately, the court ruled that CJ would get Celina’s custody. After Celina disappeared, her maternal aunt, Cindy Cram, accused the Mays of hiding the young girl and said there was foul play. In turn, the Mays claimed that Lynn’s family hid Celina and possibly took her to Florida or Michigan because they wanted to gain custody. In 2021, Cindy said, “My feeling about it right away was she’s (Celina) not alive. Sometimes, you go with your gut feeling. And I still don’t feel that she was alive. I think they shut her up.”

While the authorities have continued to investigate Celina’s disappearance as a missing person case and not a homicide, several theories and rumors have been floated over the years. One of Celina’s relatives felt that the baby’s father killed her or that she possibly died because of an amateur abortion. Another rumor was that the baby’s father was one of Celina’s cousins. However, there has been no concrete proof, and all of these have remained mere speculation.

The authorities were puzzled because there was little evidence to indicate where Celina went. In January 1997, there was a possible sighting of Celina at a restaurant, but that was ultimately confirmed not to be her. Furthermore, reports of her sightings in Lacey Township and Hopewell Township surfaced, but they were unconfirmed. The police have chased more than 200 leads over the years and hope advancements in age-progression photo technology and the prevalence of social media will help bring new information regarding the case. If alive, Celina would be in her late 30s with a child about 25-years-old.

  • Watch This Exclusive Clip from Chris Fleming’s New Special Hell

Watch This Exclusive Clip from Chris Fleming’s New Special Hell

    [ad_1]

Comedian and YouTuber Chris Fleming has made a name for himself pointing out the absurdities we encounter in everyday life. Peter Gabriel cycling in a circle to “Solsbury Hill,” the word “umpteenth,” and the Brigadoon-like enigma that is Burlington, Vermont—all of it is fodder for his wonderfully silly and smart comedy. His popular YouTube comedy series Gayle likewise delighted in mining the oddities of our seemingly quotidian world. Now, on his new Peacock stand-up(ish) special Hell, Fleming asks the brave question of what to do with $4.99—purchase a punnet of raspberries or an equally priced gerbil?

The comic turns his dilemma (“Should I get a Driscolls or a gerbil?”) into a catchy little ditty that’ll stay in your head all day (as this writer can attest). We’ll get to watch the entirety of Hell when it’s released this Friday, August 18, but in the meantime this clip is a satisfying stopgap. Between Fleming’s enthusiastic eyebrow wiggling, lithe leaps across the stage, and willowy arm waving that would make “Wuthering Heights”-era Kate Bush jealous, the number’s a real treat.

As teased in a previous trailer, Hell combines surrealist sketches, stand-up, and Fleming’s signature musical comedy to create a heady and humorous hour. Hell boasts appearances from some freaky puppets as well as actor Victoria Pedretti, known for playing a widowed twin in both The Haunting of Hill House and You (how did she corner this very niche market?). The special was directed by Cat Solen and filmed at Los Angeles’ Dynasty Typewriter, a theater that’s hosted the likes of Sarah Silverman, Joel Kim Booster, Maria Bamford, Aparna Nancherla, and many other comedy greats.

Mark your calendars for August 18, and next time you have a spare five bucks, don’t forget to ask yourself if you’d rather have a Driscolls or a gerbil.

  • Where is Colette Filmed? 2018 Movie Filming Locations

Where is Colette Filmed? 2018 Movie Filming Locations

    [ad_1]

Directed by Wash Westmoreland, ‘Colette’ is a 2018 biographical drama movie based on the life of famous French author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette. It follows her as she marries Henry “Willy” Gauthier-Villars and is pushed into writing at the end of the 19th Century. However, he publishes Colette’s work under his name. Soon, she decides to forge her own path, grapples with her sexuality, and lives fearlessly, challenging the era’s societal norms.

Colette’s journey of self-exploration and her works are set against the Belle Époque France and feature scenic backdrops that lend gravitas to the story. Therefore, viewers must be wondering whether the movie was shot on location in France or somewhere else entirely. In that case, here is everything you need to know about the taping sites of ‘Colette.’

    Colette Filming Locations

‘Colette’ was filmed in Hungary, England, and France, specifically in Budapest, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Paris. Principal photography on the project commenced in May 2017 and was likely wrapped up by July of the same year. Now, let’s take a closer look at the movie’s exact production spots.

    Budapest, Hungary

Most of ‘Colette’ was taped in and around Budapest, Hungary’s capital and most populous city. The interior scenes were predominantly lensed on sound stages in Origo Studios, a motion picture production facility located at Felsőkert u. 9. It houses eight large soundstages and two VFX/multimedia stages spread over an area of 18,000 square meters. Several big-budget Hollywood movies and TV shows, such as ‘Dune,’ ‘The Witcher,’ ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ and ‘Terminator: Dark Fate‘ were filmed at the studio.

The cast and crew shot exterior scenes in the streets of Budapest, including Andrássy Avenue, a tree-lined boulevard linking Erzsébet Square with the Városliget City Park. The Hungarian State Opera House located at Andrássy út 22, Duna Palota, a Neo-Baroque concert hall at Zrínyi u. 5, and the Kálmán Imre Theater situated at Nagymező u. 17 feature in some scenes. Furthermore, scenes depicting a courtyard and restaurant were recorded at Adria Palace, at 16 Szabadság tér.

    Oxfordshire, England

Additional scenes were recorded in Oxfordshire county, mainly on the premises of Cogges Manor Farm, in Cogges near Witney. The location doubles as Colette’s childhood home in the period drama and depicts scenes featuring a study and library. Cogges Manor Farm is presently a heritage site and popular tourist attraction in Oxfordshire.

    Northamptonshire, England

The cast and crew lensed some scenes in Northamptonshire, mainly in Hartwell, a village in West Northamptonshire. Moreover, Salcy Park, a house in the county, appears in numerous scenes as Colette’s country house. Located in the South Midlands of England, the county of Northamptonshire is known for its countryside aesthetics and is characterized by several rivers.

    Paris, France

While ‘Colette’ is mainly set in Paris, only some portions were shot in the French capital. Pivotal portions were lensed at Quai de Bourbon and Rue le Regrattier, lanes overlooking the Seine River, which flows through the city. Furthermore, Brittany-on-the-Seine, situated at 2 Quai de la Tournelle, features in one sequence.

Paris is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world, and local attractions include Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame de Paris, Champs-Élysées, and the Louvre. Popular movies such as ‘No Limit,’ ‘Inception,’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ were recorded in the city.

  • The Cowboys Release «She’s Not Your Baby Anymore»

The Cowboys Release «She’s Not Your Baby Anymore»

    [ad_1]

Fresh on the heels of announcing their sixth album Sultan of Squat and releasing its title track last week, The Cowboys are back again with second single “She’s Not Your Baby Anymore.” Continuing the momentum of “The Sultan of Squat,” the band are, once again, doing their damnedest to bring the glitters of retro pop-rock to the forefront of our appetites. Featuring a delectable slide guitar from Peter Doyle and emergent keys from vocalist Keith Harman, the Cowboys are firing on all cylinders here, quaking with a whimsicality that is as much a relentless earworm as it is a singular, polished delight.

Harman says of “She’s Not Your Baby Anymore”: “This song has been written since 2018, probably one of the first to be written following previous studio album, “The Bottom of a Rotten Flower”. Zack [Worcel] always thought it could be a crowd pleaser so we were always keen to get into a studio and give it a proper arrangement. It’s an interesting song for us because there is no kernel of humor to it. It’s a pretty straightforward summation of something people experience in simple rhymes. It has a great bounce to it and the steel guitar was a natural touch. We joked that it sounds like a Folgers commercial and some fans may be thrown off by that.”

Sultan of Squat is out August 25. Listen to “She’s Not Your Baby Anymore” below.

  • Sex Bob-om Is Ready to Explode in Scott Pilgrim Anime Teaser

Sex Bob-om Is Ready to Explode in Scott Pilgrim Anime Teaser

    [ad_1]

Is Toronto ready to withstand the thunderous strains of Sex Bob-om’s music once again? Let’s hope so, because Netflix’s upcoming anime adaptation of Scott Pilgrim is fast approaching, with a first teaser dropping today–you can view that below. The series, which seems to be inconsistently titled Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, is notable for the fact that they’ve managed to reassemble the entire iconic ensemble cast of the cult classic 2010 film by Edgar Wright. It’s due to arrive on Netflix on Nov. 17, 2023, with eight episodes.

With that said, there’s still a lot about Scott Pilgrim Takes Off that we don’t quite know. It’s not clear whether there are any key omissions from the film cast, though they all certainly seem to be in place, starting with Michael Cera as the title character and including the likes of Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Anna Kendrick, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Kieran Culkin, though few of them have lines in the teaser below. But it remains to be seen how closely the story will actually hew to Wright’s film as it adapts the same original comics by Canadian author and artist Bryan Lee O’Malley. His original Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series ran between 2004-2010, and it seems reasonable to assume that with eight episodes the anime series should be able to include plenty of material that never made it to the film. At the same time, it likely also has the opportunity to venture off into some new side-stories and musical interludes, which could of course include new music from Sex Bob-om and the other scuzzy indie bands that populate this fictional version of Toronto.

One thing that does look spot on is the art style, provided by Japanese animation studio Science Saru. Perfectly capturing the cartoonish, anime-influenced style of O’Malley’s original comics, it genuinely looks like the graphic novels have been brought to life. Hopefully, the cast had as much fun making this as they clearly had for Wright’s film back in 2010. We’ll see for ourselves come November; in the meantime check out the teaser here.

  • Warrior Nun to Return for Three Feature Films After Cancellation

Warrior Nun to Return for Three Feature Films After Cancellation

    [ad_1]

After a vague announcement at the end of June, we finally have more information regarding the continuation of canceled Netflix series Warrior Nun—it’s coming back, but as three films.

In early July, creator Simon Barry tweeted a link to a website that featured a countdown clock set to mid-August. The countdown has finally come to an end, and the site now features a statement from Executive Producer Dean English, where he states that the series will return, but as a trilogy of feature films, with the option for an expanded universe.

Of course, seeing as we are in the middle of both a writers’ and actors’ strike, there is not a lot of information that can be readily shared, especially in terms of actual deals made, who might be involved, and what the timeline could look like. However, the statement from English does imply that these films could feature “characters we already know,” giving the barest hint at the possibility of the series’ cast reprising their roles.

While the statement from English does spark immense hope that this beloved series will return in the form and fashion we are familiar with, is it too good to be true? Producer Amy Berg posted after the announcement that she has “not been approached about participating in the movies or any #WarriorNun universe project and as far as [she’s] aware there are currently no deals in place with anyone who was involved in making the show.”

With so much still unknown about this mysterious trilogy, it’s difficult to parse whether this is truly what fans have been campaigning for over the past eight months. The central fight surrounded the loss of this strikingly diverse show, which highlighted the stories of women, queer people, and people of color, and it’s paramount that these films continue to deliver on those fronts. After all, is it truly Warrior Nun without Ava (Alba Baptista), or Beatrice (Kristina Tonteri-Young), or Lilith (Lorena Andrea)? Will we ever find out what happened to Ava after she was returned to Earth in the Season 2 finale, or will these projects simply expand the universe, without ever venturing back to where we began?

Despite the uncertainty, this news is absolutely worth celebrating. After a difficult year for LGBTQ—but particularly sapphic—representation on screen, this will be an undeniable win when these films do come to fruition. Until then, fans can rest assured that their fight was not in vain, and that their favorite universe will return in this life.

The principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the Mexican series reportedly commenced in September 2020 and wrapped up in March 2021. The principal photography for the Polish movie seemingly commenced around September 2018 and wrapped up in January 2020. Since all the mountain scenes were taped on location in high altitudes and temperatures as less as -30 degrees, there were several complications during the production process.

In addition, she also confesses to killing Fred to Toronto PD, expecting imprisonment, possibly to divert Serena from her family. But the police officers let her know that the murder didn’t happen in Canadian territory for them to arrest her. Luke asks June to stop obsessing over Serena.

‘Ballet’ begins with Serena traveling to Gilead with the dead body of Fred as she wants her husband to rest in the country he co-founded. Commanders Joseph Lawrence and Nick Blaine hesitantly welcome her. The wake of Fred happens at Commander Warren Putnam’s house. Serena demands a grand funeral for her husband when Lawrence shows her a little church to conduct the service. However, the higher officials of the nation let her know that Fred, an apparent traitor, doesn’t deserve anything better. Still, she convinces Putnam and other commanders to prepare for a distinguished funeral for her husband with the help of Lawrence and Nick.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Episode 2 Ending: Are Esther and Janine Dead or Alive? Why Does Esther Poison Janine?

Ever since Esther Keyes has become a Handmaid, Janine Lindo has taken a special interest in her. Janine comes in between Esther and Aunt Lydia and makes the former calmer about the whole affair. She also protects the recruit from Aunt Lydia’s atrocities. Naturally, they end up sharing a bond and Esther makes progress in her adaptation to become a Handmaid, with the help of Janine, impressing Lydia. The latter takes Esther to Commander Warren Putnam’s house for her to become his new Handmaid. Lydia also indicates the possibility of Janine visiting Esther at Putnam’s house to guide the new Handmaid.

After Putnam accepts Esther as his new Handmaid, she shares chocolates with Janine, only for both of them to start vomiting blood. Esther has poisoned Janine and herself as she doesn’t want to lead a life as a Handmaid. She believes that Janine helped her to become a capable Handmaid expecting her to get assigned to Putnam’s house so that she can visit her daughter Angela while visiting Esther. The belief leads her to think that Janine has used her for her personal gain without considering the hardships she has to endure once she becomes Putnam’s Handmaid.

Esther poisons Janine since she believes that the latter manipulated her and hastened her suffering. After the first meeting with Putnam, Esther must have realized how difficult it will be to serve him and how much she will suffer as his sex slave. Rather than becoming the same, Esther chooses to die. But she wants to see the death of Janine, who has paved the way for her selection to serve Putnam, as well. Janine is paying the price for aspiring to see her daughter once in a while through Esther.

Even though Esther and Janine vomit blood, they may get saved as Lydia and the other Handmaids see them. Lydia may arrange necessary medical interventions for two of her Handmaids before they die. Since Putnam has taken a liking toward Esther, he may try his best to save at least her as well.

Why Does Serena Broadcast Fred’s Funeral?

After arriving at Gilead for Fred’s funeral, she demands a grand funeral for her dead husband. Her aspiration results in such a funeral and the global broadcast of the same. When Serena initially demands such an occasion, Putnam realizes that it can send a message that Gilead is even merciful towards the traitor who betrayed the nation to add to the appeal of the country among other nations. However, Serena has a personal reason to broadcast her husband’s funeral. Serena wants June to see the broadcast and realize that she knows what the latter has done to her and her husband.

Serena arranges for Hannah, June’s daughter, to hand over a flower bouquet to her during the funeral procession so that June will realize that her daughter’s life depends upon Serena’s decisions. The widow broadcasts the same as a statement and testament of her potency. Serena wants June to know that she hasn’t lost the battle between them and she is powerful enough to step into Gilead and overtake the control of Hannah’s life despite being the widow of a traitor. As Serena broadcasts the same on several screens all over the city of Toronto, Hannah also realizes how much helpless she is as a mother.

    PREMIERE: Mali Velasquez Releases «Bobby»

    [ad_1]

Nashville singer/songwriter Mali Velasquez’s debut album, I’m Green, is on the way, set to arrive later this year. Last month, she unveiled her debut single “Tore,” a stunning, woozy singer/songwriter track that showcased the cracking cosmos of her vocal range, and her latest single is no different. “Bobby” is an intimate ode to Velasquez’s memory of her late mother. With sparse instrumentation that swells into a gorgeous folk-pop climax, it’s a dense, rewarding piece of construction. “In late October, when daughter Maria comes and she’s sitting on the edge of the hospital bed that you’ll leave us on,” Velasquez sings. “And when it’s all over, will you forget what I’ve said? Whatever memorial is carved over Amy’s head.” “Bobby” is one of the most moving, visceral and generous tracks you’ll hear this month, maybe all year.

Velasquez says about the track: “I wrote ‘Bobby’ originally about losing my mom when I was in high school, I had a lot of these visuals of her being sick. The only connections I can find from sickness and death are in animals and nature, which felt like my way out of grieving in a tunnel vision. The chorus of the song is largely about my coping with her loss, mostly being unable to move or stop staring at the wall. Grief and moving from unhealthy coping mechanisms to safer ones is a thick and embarrassing struggle that seeps into a lot of these songs.”

  • How Did She Die? Who Killed Rosie Tapia?

How Did She Die? Who Killed Rosie Tapia?

    [ad_1]

Investigation Discovery’s ‘On the Case With Paula Zahn: She’s Gone’ follows the heartbreaking abduction and murder of 6-year-old Rosie Tapia in Salt Lake City, Utah, in August 1995. More than 25 years after she was found murdered, the police are still searching for the perpetrator. A considerable amount of reward has been announced in 2022 to help bring forth information regarding the case. If you are interested to know more about the case, then we’ve your back. Let’s find out more, shall we?

    How Did Rosie Tapia Die?

Rosa Maria “Rosie” Tapia was born in Salt Lake City in Salt Lake County, Utah, on January 17, 1989, to Lewine Lopez and Roberto C. Tapia. She was one of five children, alongside three sisters and one brother. She had a beautiful smile that warmed the hearts of everyone and pretty, expressive eyes. Rosie was a free-spirited young girl who loved listening to music, dancing, playing Super Nintendo, playing outside, and riding her bike.

On the warm Sunday morning of August 13, 1995, Lewine woke up feeling uneasy at around 5 am. She decided to trust her motherly instinct and went down to the ground-floor bedroom of their Hartland Apartments at 1616 Snow Queen Place, where Rosie slept with her twin sisters. She was shocked to find the window wide open, and while the twins were sleeping in their beds, 6-year-old Rosie was missing from the room. She searched for her everywhere in the house but could not find the child.

Lewine’s screams woke her husband and her 18-year-old daughter, Emilia Elizondo. While they went outside to search for Rosie, Lewine informed the police and called for other family members and relatives to mount a search party for the missing child. The family had started searching for their child and printed flyers before the police arrived at the crime scene. When the police arrived, the officers joined the search while the detectives investigated Rosie’s bedroom.

The detectives came across several signs of foul play, such as the window screen being pried open and pulled from outside, the curtains partially pulled down, and a shoe print on a towel on the dresser by the window. Her mother last saw Rosie at around 2:30 am, when she and Roberto got back home from dancing the night before. She was sleeping, tucked in her bed. To the shock of everyone, a body was found a few hours after Rosie’s disappearance, floating face down in the nearby Jordan River surplus canal.

The fire department retrieved her body, and she was immediately identified as Rosie. She was still in her pajamas and had been sexually assaulted and drowned. There was evidence of blunt force trauma to the 6-year-old’s body, and she had been held underwater. Due to the body being in the canal for several hours, much of the forensic evidence had gotten compromised. However, they were still able to gather some tissue, hair, and fingernails.

    Who Killed Rosie Tapia?

Emilia had been babysitting Rosie and the twins on the evening of August 12, 1995, just hours before her disappearance. Just before dinnertime, Rosie had gone to play in the playground directly outside their apartment. A few minutes later, Emilia heard a knock and opened the door to find a white man, wearing a baseball cap and dark glasses, carrying Rosie in his arms. He claimed that Rosie had gotten hurt while playing. He went away, saying, “Bye, Rosie!”

It was baffling that the man knew her name and where she stayed, prompting the police to have a composite sketch drawn and ask around the neighborhood. The investigators theorized that the perpetrator lived nearby and had stalked Rosie to know exactly where she slept inside her home. Their suspicion was further confirmed by a neighbor who claimed to see a young man in wet pants driving away from the canal in a truck on the night of the crime. They even claimed that he might know Rosie, given the little girl had not woken up her twin sisters sleeping in the same room.

The apartment the Tapias stayed in generated a tremendous amount of lead with numerous suspects, but the prime one was a friend of Rosie’s father. As per the show, this individual had a son the same age as Rosie, frequently visited the Tapia residence, and knew where the little girl slept. He also was reportedly acting odd while searching for Rosie, trying to lead the search party away from the canal. The police questioned him extensively over the years, but his alibi of staying at home was confirmed by his erstwhile wife.

He also had no criminal or sexual deviant history and had never been in trouble with law enforcement since Rosie’s disappearance. The case went cold over the years, and the police are still searching for the perpetrator even after 27 years of Rosie’s disappearance. Over the years, the Utah Cold Case Coalition was formed by the police and a private investigator named Jason Jensen. In 2019, he interviewed a neighbor, who had been overlooked by the police, as per the show, and got a new composite drawn of a possible suspect. The suspect was a friend of Danny Woodland, an acquaintance of Emilia.

Image Credit: Utah Cold Case Coalition

Danny claimed that back in 1995, he used to climb through the window to meet Emilia, and his friend knew of the window. The neighbor had even picked the concerned friend from a line-up. However, Rosie’s case is still unsolved to date. The Salt Lake City police had announced a reward of $35,000 for any information regarding the case. On Rosie’s 27th death anniversary, the Utah Cold Case Coalition announced that the reward had been raised to $100,000 in the hope that the large amount will finally lure someone to come up with information to help crack the case.

The Menzingers Announce New Album Some Of It Was True

Longtime Philadelphia punk heroes The Menzingers are returning with their seventh studio album. Some Of It Was True is set to arrive October 13 via Epitaph Records, and the momentum begins via lead single “Hope Is A Dangerous Little Thing.” The track is anthemic yet personal, as the band’s songwriting takes a powerful, melodic turn towards their brightest chapter yet.

Some Of It Was True was produced by prolific visionary Brad Cook (Bon Iver, The War on Drugs, Waxahatchee) and was recorded in El Paso at Sonic Ranch. The product that came from those sessions is a project that greatly mirrors the Menzingers’ incredible, enduring live energy and spirit.

“This record just feels different for us,” guitarist and vocalist Gregor Barnett explains. “It’s a really important one in our catalog, and a pivotal moment in our history. We have the liberty of our fans growing with us now, and after writing these lyrical songs about where we are in life, we decided to take other peoples’ stories and make something bigger out of it.”

Sun June Announce New Album Bad Dream Jaguar

    [ad_1]

Austin, Texas band Sun June has a new record on the way. Bad Dream Jaguar is set to arrive October 20 via Run For Cover Records, marking their first proper follow-up to 2022’s Somewhere. Lead single “Get Enough” is a dynamic, expansive folk-pop track that lends an unhurried, gorgeous instrumental to Laura Colwell’s dreamy vocal affectation.

“Drag me down with the weight, it’s a drug. I never get enough,” Colwell sings. “Even the sky looks menacing. I stayed awake for 48 hours, and it’s all I can do to be lonely. Me and you.” Affixed with Beatles references and psychedelic flair, “Get Enough” is a low-key gem that quickly morphs into a twangy, experimental stunner.

“‘Get Enough’ is about spring-time mania, justifying delusions, and losing it but still loving it (Macca forever). It was written when Laura and Stephen [Salisbury] were bouncing back and forth between Texas and North Carolina, each unsure of where life was headed,” the band says about the track. “For the ‘Get Enough” video we wanted to lean into Texas kitsch.

“Most of us are transplants, but we’ve become Texans whether we like it or not. We liked the images of fake cowboying and Texan expanses beneath a busy flight path, and we thought it fit a song that’s about being pulled in different directions and wanting competing things. Visually, we were inspired by Punch Drunk Love. We bought a big blue suit and used 1970s anamorphic lenses to distort the image and bend the light.”

  • Where is Chad Daybell Today? Is He in Jail? Update

Where is Chad Daybell Today? Is He in Jail? Update

    [ad_1]

The fall 2019 disappearance of 16-year-old Tylee Ashlyn Ryan and her 7-year-old brother Joshua Jaxon “JJ” Vallow is a case that honestly continues to bewilder the entire nation to this day. That’s because not only were their bodies found buried in their mother Lori Vallow’s new partner Chad Daybell’s backyard months later, but the duo still refuses to reveal precisely what transpired. However, as carefully explored in Netflix’s ‘Sins of Our Mother,’ the suspicion is their extreme apocalyptic beliefs as well as their desire for a “purer” world may have driven them to commit murder.

While many believe Chad to be the driving force behind this brutal alleged offense, some consider Lori the mastermind, but the one thing prosecutors are sure of is that they’re both responsible. The significant reason for this, apart from their silence, is their actions leading up to the kids’ disappearance and remains’ recovery following the execution of a search warrant on his property. After all, there’s the fact they’d been having an affair, they married within two weeks of his first wife Tammy Daybell’s mysterious demise, and many witnesses have come forward to unravel their lies.

From telling others Tylee had passed away years prior to asserting Lori had no minor children to leaving Idaho for good instead of cooperating with the authorities, the couple ostensibly did it all. Therefore, while Lori was arrested for desertion of her kids in February 2020, her husband was taken into custody following his attempt to flee the scene upon the discovery of their bodies on June 9, 2020. So now, if you just wish to learn more about self-proclaimed prophet Chad’s current personal as well as criminal legal standing, in particular, we’ve got every necessary detail for you.

    Where is Chad Daybell Now?

Chad was booked into Fremont County Jail on the day of his apprehension on two counts of alteration, concealment, or destruction of evidence, with his bail officially set at $1 million on June 10. The professional gravedigger turned near-death experiences and end-of-time events novelist actually pleaded not guilty to all charges in August, only for the matter to be pushed much further. The truth is his first wife Tammy’s demise had already come into question by this point despite his initial insistence it was natural, leading to further investigations into each aspect of his existence.

Chad was thus eventually charged with first-degree murder as well as conspiracy to commit murder in connection to Tylee, JJ, and Tammy’s deaths towards the end of May 2021, right alongside Lori. He again pleaded not guilty on June 9, yet the officials still dropped the prior indictments against him and even refused to charge him for Lori’s fourth husband’s passing owing to no clear evidence. Nonetheless, in early August, the prosecutors announced they would undoubtedly seek the death penalty since “the nature and magnitude of these crimes warrant the possibility of the highest possible punishment.”

We should mention that in early October 2021, a judge granted Chad’s motion for his trial to be moved from Fremont County to ensure he gets a fair chance due to the infamy of the matter. Therefore, with his and Lori’s 10-week long joint court proceedings scheduled to begin in Ada County on January 9, 2023, the 54-year-old is currently awaiting the same behind bars — his bail was withdrawn once he was accused of murder. It’s also imperative to note all of Chad’s children (from his marriage with Tammy) believe he was entirely framed by his new wife and her brother Alex Cox.

“This is his property,” one of his daughters said in an exclusive interview with CBS’ ’48 Hous.’ “If there’s bodies buried here, it would be attributed to him… I think he was fooled in the worst, most deadly way possible.”

  • How Did He Die? Who Killed Him?

How Did He Die? Who Killed Him?

    [ad_1]

With Netflix’s ‘Sins of Our Mother’ delving deep into the case of Lori Vallow Daybell from every conceivable angle, we get a true insight into the several deaths surrounding her religious existence. Amongst them is, of course, the 2019 demise of her estranged fourth husband, Leland “Charles” Anthony Vallow, under undeniably suspicious circumstances considering their tumultuous past. So now, if you wish to learn more about the same — with a specific focus on the events that transpired, its ensuing investigations, as well as its aftermath — we’ve got the crucial details for you.

    How Did Charles Vallow Die?

Although around 17 years older than his wife, Charles was considered an ideal partner for Lori owing to the way he not only took care of her and her young children but also matched her faith. The lifelong Catholic actually became a member of the LDS Church upon tying the knot with her in 2006, following which he even quit drinking to enable a deeper bond between them as a family. The couple then happily adopted his autistic grandnephew Joshua Jaxon “JJ” Vallow as their own in 2013 to expand their brood, yet everything changed by the time February 2019 rolled around.

Charles had begun feeling like his wife had grown impassive towards him and her children, he was disturbed by her new extreme beliefs, and he was scared since she’d threatened to kill him. The businessman as well as biological father of two (from a previous union) thus filed for divorce before getting an order of protection, but they were still in (un-amicable) touch because of JJ. Unfortunately, it all came to a head on July 11 when the Texan resident traveled to Lori’s home in Arizona to pick up his young son — an argument with a family member led to him being shot.

The claim was that the trigger was pulled on Charles in pure self-defense, which was reportedly initially believed as the different witnesses’ accounts of the morning were largely similar. However, as the months passed and then Lori’s minor children vanished into thin air, only to later be found dead, rising suspicions led to an official autopsy being conducted in Maricopa County. The 62-year’s manner of death was ruled a homicide — he’d sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and stomach, with bruises on his right chest, left arm, right hand, as well as knees.

    Who Killed Charles Vallow?

Lori Vallow’s elder brother Alexander “Alex” Lamar Cox is responsible for shooting Charles, yet it is believed the siblings conspired to slay him for his $1 million life insurance policy. According to original reports, when the victim arrived at his former partner’s home to pick up JJ, the duo got into such a heated fight that it seemed like it could turn physical at any moment. Alex hence intervened, just to be hit on the head with the baseball bat Charles had managed to grab from Lori’s 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan, who’d also come out to help, as per the Netflix original.

Alex then grabbed his gun and opened fire once he noticed Charles making his way to him again, according to his police statement, but Tylee purportedly didn’t see these shots at all. Lori, her brother, and her teen daughter were questioned separately within hours of the incident, yet no charges were filed back then despite discrepancies in the shooting window they’d given.

It ultimately came to light that Alex dialed 911 43 minutes after he’d shot his brother-in-law, meaning Charles bled on the floor until it was too late. It’s even imperative to note he took the second bullet while already on the ground — leading to Lori being charged with conspiracy to murder in June 2021. Since Alex died of natural causes in December 2019, he was only explicitly named in this grand jury indictment. We should mention Lori, who is currently awaiting trial, could not cash in on Charles’ policy as he’d changed the beneficiary to JJ’s grandmother/his sister upon the divorce filing.

How Did She Die? Who Killed Her?

    [ad_1]

When 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and her brother 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow vanished within days of one another in the fall of 2019, no one could’ve imagined the bizarreness that would ensue. That’s because not only did their mother, Lori Vallow, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, come under suspicion for their lack of aid, but the several enigmatic deaths around them also came to light. Amongst them, as carefully examined on Netflix’s ‘Sins of Our Mother,’ is that of Chad’s first wife, Tammy Daybell — so now, if you wish to learn more about it, we’ve got the details for you.

    How Did Tammy Daybell Die?

Tamara “Tammy” Douglas Daybell was a proud school librarian, a loving wife, a kind mother of five, as well as a doting grandmother with no known enemies when everything turned upside down. The undeniably devout Mormon had actually even helped her college beau husband Chad establish the Spring Creek Book Company in 2004, just to wear many hats within the firm as it grew. In other words, the independent Salem, Idaho, resident genuinely supported her family through each endeavor, which is why her sudden demise on October 19, 2019, baffled them to the core.

According to original reports, Tammy peacefully passed away in her sleep after months of struggling with “failing health,” driving officials and her kids to believe her cause of death to be natural. An autopsy was thus deliberately not performed, only for suspicions to rise by the time December rolled around owing to Chad marrying Lori within two weeks, plus the missing minor children.

Tammy’s body was exhumed from her grave in Springville, Utah, on December 11, 2019, for an official medical autopsy, yet its results have not been made public despite completion in February 2021. However, the authorities have formally told the 49-year-old’s kids that she had “been asphyxiated… but we never saw an autopsy,” as per their exclusive interview with ’48 Hours’ in 2021.

    Who Killed Tammy Daybell?

Tammy’s death is believed to be a homicide considering the fact both Chad and Lori have been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and grand theft in connection to the matter. They were indicted in May 2021 but are still awaiting trial, with her husband also facing a single count of insurance fraud — he had cashed in on her life insurance policy totaling nearly $430,000.

It’s imperative to mention that Chad had actually signed an application on September 8, 2019, to increase Tammy’s policy to the maximum amount possible, suggesting a clear motive. After all, there was seemingly a genuine attempt on her life a mere month later, on October 9, when a masked man tried to shoot at her with what she believed to be a paintball gun.

The librarian did call 911 before posting about this incident on Facebook as a warning for neighbors to be careful, but officials have admitted they summed it up as a prank rather quickly. A significant reason for this was the fact the weapon was actually empty as well as the lack of leads because the male did not speak despite Tammy constantly asking who he was and what he wanted. The assailant even ran away without a look behind the moment she shouted her husband’s name for help, which didn’t aid either.

However, official records have since indicated the masked man was none other than Lori Vallow’s elder brother Alex Cox, whom she deemed her personal hitman, as per the Netflix original. Yet Alex has not and can not ever be charged with any wrongdoing related to Tammy’s tragic demise as he himself passed away (reportedly of natural causes) on December 12, 2019.

We should mention that all of Chad and Tammy’s children completely believe in their father’s innocence: “He was framed,” their daughter Emma Murray told CBS News. “…I think he was fooled in the worst, most deadly way possible.”

Shop Talk Unveil Video for «Black Friar»

    [ad_1]

Earlier this year, Brooklyn punk band Shop Talk released The Offering EP, which included the raucous title track and four other agents of chaos. Fast-forward a few months, and the trio has unveiled a new music video for “Black Friar.” The track is an absolute riot, as the band take inspiration from Francine Prose’s book The Lives Of The Muses, zeroing in on a gothic chapter about 1800s supermodel Elizabeth Siddal.

Vocalist and guitarist Jon Garcia notes about the track: “Elizabeth Siddal served as a muse to a number of Pre-Raphaelite artists, marrying one of them. Her husband, Dante Rossetti, saw her as a kind of reincarnation of Dante Alighieri’s muse, Beatrice, and projected this fantasy onto the flesh-and-blood woman he’d married. Siddal’s corpse was exhumed some 7 years after her death, and it’s said that her remains were beautiful and untouched by rot… In a nutshell, this song is about the desire to connect with the dead through works of art (if not through literal exhumation!), and the curious relationship between an artist and their muse.”

Watch the William Hart-directed music video for “Black Friar” below. You can buy tickets to Shop Talk’s upcoming headlining show at TV EYE in New York City on August 18 here.
