Mums share hack to get kids ready for school quickly but some people think it’s ‘gross’

In a bid to save time in the morning, mums have hacked the system and admitted to dressing their kids for bed in the next day’s school clothes.

Anyone with kids will undoubtedly know that getting them ready for the day is a monumental task. You have to convince them that socks are essential and that they can’t wear dress-up costumes to school. But one mum may have cracked the code.

A quick hack to save time before school

Mum of two Lisa Lamond, who is best known for her work in TV in Australia, is one hell of a busy lady. Whilst juggling parenthood and a bustling career, she naturally wanted to streamline the efficiency of her mornings.

Whilst speaking to Whimm back in 2019, the House Rules winner opened up about her ingenious ideas. You see, rather than panic in the morning, as she attempts to get her daughters ready, she checks one job off her list the night before.

“I don’t have a spare hour while they pull up their sock,” she explained, revealing that she actually puts Ruby and Arabella to bed in their clothes for the next day. Not only does this save time, but it also means that they look good and have matching socks!

She continued: “My daughters like to dress themselves from head to toe.

“On days I’m working in particular, I don’t have a spare hour while they pull up one sock. So the best piece of advice I’ve been given is to dress your kids the night before in the clothes you want them to go out in.”

And she’s not the only mum

Beloved children’s TV star Ms. Rachel, who shot to fame following the worldwide 2020 lockdowns, also made a similar admission back in September.

On her bustling TikTok account, the learning coach admitted: “We put on a nice new shirt, sweatpants – super comfy, great for jammies,” she said.

“And then when he wakes up, we just throw on sneakers.”

People are divided by the idea

While some have agreed with Ms. Rachel and Lisa, saying that whatever works for them is fine, others are passionately against it and dubbed it “sweaty”, “gross”, and “uncomfortable.”

On TikTok, one person wrote: “Wouldn’t their uniform get creased? The trousers would be so uncomfortable to sleep in. ARE THEY SLEEPING IN THEIR SCHOOL TIE AND BADGES?!”

“Name something that’s not illegal but feels like it is,” another person joked, as a third concluded, “The thought of wearing day clothes to bed makes my skin crawl. I need soft & comfy.”

In contrast, someone countered: “I do this with my 1 year old and it has been a lifesaver on busy mornings!”

“It’s a game changer! as soon as we started changing at night, at least 50% of the arguments stopped,” another fan agreed.
