The hilarious video mocking the younger generation’s slang has sparked funny reactions amongst TikTok viewers who debate whether Gen Z youths make the workplace more fun, and others who believe they are simply an annoyance to the office.
Viral TikTok mocks Gen Z workers for funny slang
A TikTok video posted by @corporatenatalie, who describes herself as the ‘CEO of Work-From-Home Jokes’, shows her insulting Gen Z workplace behaviors.
Generation Z is usually used to describe Americans born during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In the meme video, the creator pretends to give feedback to a Gen Z worker, asking them to stop calling co-workers ‘girly’, describing themselves as having ‘rizz’ and more funny youngster traits.
Another pointer given by the TikToker was for Gen Z to stop taking ‘BeReals’ during work calls. BeReal is a social media app with a daily notification that encourages users to share a photo of themselves and their immediate surroundings given a randomly selected two-minute window every day.
@corporatenatalie captioned her video: “BeReal is definitely an urgent business matter.”
The viral clip has currently reached over one million views, more than 134,000 likes, and a comment section full of funny reactions.
In the comment section of the popular video mocking young people in the workplace, many users argue that Gen Z make places a “fun environment to work in.”
A user named @Logan Rex wrote: “Gen Z actually has personality in the workplace and people hate it.”
Also siding with the youngsters, @Mary Elisa suggested that the word ‘slay’ should be used more often: “As a Gen Z in corporate I love using the word slay.”
Addressing the Be Real issue, a user named @daisy commented: “But you only have two minutes to do the BeReal.”
In the viral video, the creator also advises the Gen Z worker to stop addressing a male co-worker using the term ‘daddy.’ A fellow Gen Z user named @Becky B wrote: “I’m Gen Z and saying “hey daddy” at work is insane.”
Another Gen Z worker shared their corporate experience: “My manager told me to stop calling my coworkers the ‘ancient wise ones.’”
