Full text of Osama Bin Laden’s ‘Letter to America’ is nowhere to be found on Reddit

    [ad_1]

The full text and summary of the ‘Letter to America’ by Osama Bin Laden has been taken down on Reddit after it went viral on TikTok.

The Guardian also deleted the transcript of the letter on its website after social media users started circulating it online “without the full context”. The 21-year-old missive has sent shockwaves across TikTok as users are analyzing some of the details penned by the founder of Al-Qaeda.

Full text of Osama Bin Laden’s ‘Letter to America’ goes viral on TikTok

TikTok users started circulating the full text of Osama Bin Laden’s ‘Letter to America‘ after content creator Lynette Adkins urged everyone to read it.

While she doesn’t touch upon the details included in the letter, the TikToker says she and many others are going through an “existential crisis” after reading it.

The complete letter, which was available on The Guardian until recently, was taken down by the outlet owing to the increasing discussions – ‘without the full context’ – around the subjects mentioned in the text, including the 9/11 attack.

Readers visiting the website are now met with the message: “This page previously displayed a document containing, in translation, the full text of Osama’s “letter to the American people”, as reported in the Observer on Sunday 24 November 2002. The document, which was published here on the same day, was removed on 15 November 2023.”

A spokesperson for the news outlet told The Wrap: “The transcript published on our website 20 years ago has been widely shared on social media without the full context. Therefore we have decided to take it down and direct readers to the news article that originally contextualized it instead.”

21-year-old letter taken down on Reddit

Bin Laden’s letter to the American people is nowhere to be found on Reddit, but several TikTok users have taken it upon themselves to educate others about its contents.

Many of them have shared videos of themselves reading the complete two-page letter, while others are simply reacting to the details.

Reports suggest the letter could have resurfaced in the wake of the United States‘ support to Israel amid the ongoing war as the missive mentions the Americans’ alliance with Israelis in the past to fight the terrorist groups.

TikTok’s Amigo Chino claims he’s evading house arrest after saying he caused Orange Theory Crash

    [ad_1]

In a series of videos posted on his TikTok account, Amigo Chino has claimed that he’s responsible for the car crash that occurred at Orange Theory Fitness. He says he was placed on house arrest after the incident.

The content creator’s videos have gone viral for his antics, which seem too exaggerated to be real. There are no reports of him getting arrested or causing the car crash at the gym in Boston last month. Yet, he’s seen wearing an ankle bracelet, and that has left TikTok users really confused.

Amigo Chino claims he caused Orange Theory car crash on TikTok

A driverless car indeed crashed into the Orange Theory Fitness building in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, in October, but there are no reports that suggest Amigo was the one to cause it.

In a viral video, the man claims he placed a brick on his boss’ gas pedal to make the car move on its own and crash into the building after he allegedly got “fired on the first day” of the job.

The following video on his account displays an unverified news story with an NBC Boston banner, reporting his narration of the incident in an AI-generated voice.

The headline shown in his TikTok reads: “Mass TikTokkker ‘amigo chino’ arrested Wednesday morning on the count of destruction of a Orange Theory Fitness building.” However, there is no such report on NBC Boston’s website.

The story only gets interesting as Chino claims he got out on bail thanks to the help of a “homie”. But, he says he was placed on house arrest.

TikToker says he’s on the run

In his TikTok, Chino shows off his ankle bracelet after claiming that he was on house arrest. But, in the following video, he cuts it open and tells his followers he wasn’t abiding by the law.

In the series of videos posted in less than 24 hours, the content creator claims to be ‘on the run’ after getting rid of his ankle bracelet but advises his followers to not repeat the mistakes he has made.

Chino says he’s trying to get to California from Boston with very little money on him while his phone is running out of battery as well.

While he is ‘on the run’, Chino has urged his followers to buy the “Free Amigo” merch. His website has items displaying his picture that resembles a mug shot with #freechino printed below it.

It appears to be an elaborate prank

Amigo’s claims about being responsible for the Orange Theory gym crash seem like an elaborate prank pulled on TikTok to promote himself and his range of merch.

The supposed screenshot of NBC Boston’s article about him does not exist on the news outlet’s website, and there is no record of him being arrested either.

To add to the above, the owner of Orange Theory has confirmed that the accident occurred when he activated the remote start while walking to the car.

There is no evidence to prove that Chino’s claims are true, but since viewers are hooked on his story about being on the run from Boston to California, many are curious to know how it’s going to end.

What is Red Cup Day at Starbucks and when is it?

The Red Cup Day is a Christmas holiday tradition that was launched by Starbucks to highlight its winter menu. In the past, the new cup was launched at the same time as the winter drinks. However, in 2022, the company decided to introduce reusable cups to reduce waste by 50% by 2030. This year, the Red Cup Day will be taking place on Thursday, November 16th.

The phenomenon of new cups has been a social media favorite and has even led to many launching a countdown for the same.

Luckily, customers do not have to go the extra mile to get their hands on the cup. You can get the free cup however you order, via the store, the app, or other delivery partners like Uber Eats or DoorDash. However, it is important to remember that the cups are available until the supplies last.

Customers will be able to get the 16-ounce red cup by ordering any fall or winter beverage – hot, iced, or blended and the new cup has a ‘whimsical mod design.’

Following are the menu items that will get you the cup:

    Starbucks Red Cup Day strike

Starbucks workers have launched the Red Cup Rebellion strike in the means to improve staffing, schedule issues, and bargain with the union. Many workers expressed their hardship during promotional offers, such as the Red Cup Day, as large orders would pile up online and offline.

Speaking to The Guardian, Bruce Halstead, a barista at a Starbucks roastery in Seattle, Washington said: “I feel like customers don’t know to the full extent how hard the promotional days can be. It’s super exciting and fun for our customers to have these new cups, new drinks, and all these exclusive things, but our management does not staff us correctly.”

In a statement, Starbucks acknowledged that they were aware of the strike and are “committed to working with all partners, side-by-side, to elevate the every day, and we hope that Workers United’s priorities will shift to include the shared success of our partners and working to negotiate contracts for those they represent,”

The purple-colored plain socks have Grimace’s face printed on them and the matching jibbitz are shaped like the favorite drink and the character that inspires it.

Chuck E. Cheese removes iconic animatronics from all but one location

    [ad_1]

Chuck E. Cheese is saying goodbye to its famous and nostalgic animatronics in all but one location across the U.S.

The chain announced that the animatronic band Munch’s Make Believe Band, which have been playing in a band at all locations since 1989, will now only be performing at a location in California. Chuck E. Cheese began phasing out the band from various locations in 2017.

It’s a part of a brand renovation that sees modern changes to the entertainment at the restaurants, including trampolines and video walls.

Chuck E. Cheese animatronics will be at only one location

Northridge Chuck E. Cheese will be the only restaurant to home the animatronics band, the chain announced in a press release last week.

The animatronic band will perform daily at the California location. They made the announcement in a hilarious press conference from the band themselves, dubbing the change a “residency” in California.

Despite the band being a large memory in the childhoods of many, it comes as a step in a more modern direction for Chuck E. Cheese. David McKillips, President and CEO of Chuck E. Cheese’s parent company CEC Entertainment said: “As an important part of the legacy of the brand, we know that the animatronic band holds a special place for many fans in their childhood memories. We want our fans to know that the decision to keep the band here is meant as a gesture of love and gratitude as our legacy continues to evolve in new ways.”

A modern change for the pizza chain

Chuck E. Cheese has been renovating the fun centers of locations up and down the country, adding modern enhancements. Updated features include a state-of-the-art interactive dance floor, a giant video wall and screens, kid-focused arcade games, and even new trampoline zones (though only in select locations.)

The new updates are hoped to have something for all ages. “Chuck E. Cheese is and was an essential part of growing up,” said Nolan Bushnell of CEC. “it has had an enormous impact on how families have fun providing a place where kids and adults alike could be entertained – from animatronic shows tailored more for the adults, to games and prizes for the kids. It’s great that the original animatronic band will remain in residency at the Northridge location while the other locations offer experiences and create memories with the new vision.”

    Five Nights at Freddie’s

The Chuck E. Cheese animatronics have been in the spotlight recently, after the release of the horror movie Five Nights At Freddy’s.

Inspired by the popular video game series of the same name, Five Nights at Freddy’s releases on October 29. It features the storyline of a security guard who has to survive violent animal animatronics at a pizza restaurant.

The movie is reported to have made over $78 million on its release weekend. Over Halloween, Chuck E, Cheese hosted a “Five Nights of Fun” event, but lightheartedly denied it being a parody of the movie, despite having an eerily similar advertisement poster.

Fans ask «Did Billie Eilish come out as gay?» after singer posts «i love girls» on Instagram

    [ad_1]

Billie Eilish has admitted her attraction to women in a new interview, finally putting to bed rumors that have followed her for much of her career to date.

The Bad Guy singer has been the subject of discussions online for years and previously dismissed claims that she was queer. However, as she gets older – and more confident to discuss her reality in an unwavering and often unfairly judgmental spotlight – Eilish has spoken her truth.

In a recent interview with Variety, the singer said, “I’ve never really felt that I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.

“I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimated by them and their beauty and their presence.”

Now 21, Eilish clearly feels a lot more confident in some ways – able to talk about things that she previously kept private. But her honesty – that she feels intimated by the very people she is attracted to – will also resonate with many of her fans.

    Billie Eilish’s Instagram post

On June 10th, 2021, Eilish shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from the music video of ‘Lost Cause’.

The pictures show the singer and her group of friends having fun during the filming of the slumber party-themed video to the single.

But what caught most people’s attention weren’t the actual pictures but the caption that Billie included in her Instagram post.

Alongside the images, Billie wrote: “I love girls”.

At the time, many of her fans felt this was the superstar coming out, while others accused her of queerbaiting. Following her latest interview and candid comments, Eilish’s sexuality is now a lot clearer.

Instagram has upped its game by allowing users to keep their posts a secret from certain followers with its new Close Friends feature, and it couldn’t get more interesting! Although the photo-sharing platform has several other features limited to an audience of your choice, the latest rollout targets the main posts that appear on your profile, which can now only be viewed by you and your close pals should you enable it.

How to share Instagram posts with Close Friends

Instagram users with Android or iPhone can share posts with their Close Friends by following six simple steps:

    1. Tap on the Plus/Add button at the bottom to swipe right anywhere in your Feed.
    2. You can select up to 10 photos or videos from your phone gallery or capture a new picture or video by tapping on the camera icon on the right.
    3. Select Next on the top right to edit your post.
    4. Tap Next again once you’ve finished editing.
    5. When you think your post is ready to share, tap on Audience and select the Close Friends option.
    6. Select Done at the bottom and then Share in the top right.

You will know you’ve been added to someone’s Close Friends if you find a round green icon with a white star inside.

Any activities related to the post shared with Close Friends, including likes, comments, and shares, will be visible to everyone on the list and there isn’t any option to request to be a part of the limited audience.

How to create Close Friends list on Instagram

You can create your Close Friends list on Instagram by following a few simple steps.

    1. Tap on the profile picture or the corresponding icon on the bottom right of your profile.
    2. Select the hamburger icon in the top right and tap Close Friends.
    3. Tap on the circle next to the names of the followers you want to add. Select the blue circle with a white tick to remove any name.
    4. Tap Done at the bottom to save your changes.

The list can be updated at any time and your followers won’t be notified about being added/removed.

Users go gaga over the 2023 feature

Instagram users couldn’t be more thrilled as the app now allows them to share their posts with their favorite people, just like the Stories feature. More importantly, this allows them to hide their posts from people they don’t want.

Users are relieved that they can limit their audience on every post, thus retaining more privacy around what they share.

One user said: “Instagram creating close friends posts rather than just close friends stories is the best thing they could have done.”

“They took away circles so Instagram gave us close friends only post, god bless,” said another.

A third user wrote: “Close friends Instagram post are kinda fire.”

Mint App has started to crash on iPhone users ahead of closure

The free budgeting app Mint launched in 2006 and allows users to aggregate their financial accounts, giving them a unified view of their income, assets, and expenses.

After 17 years of providing financial management and budgeting features for millions of users, Mint is expected to be gone by the start of 2024.

Financial software company Intuit has announced that the Mint service will be absorbed into Intuit’s Credit Karma, another free financial service primarily focused on building credit:

“We are reimagining Mint as part of Intuit Credit Karma, expanding our collective capabilities to deliver upon our mission of championing financial progress for all.”

Over on Reddit, users are complaining about the app’s technology issues – suggesting that the Mint App is crashing when launched on an iPhone.

Many people have commented that they tried restarting their iPhones as well as reinstalled the app but nothing seems to be working.

Suggestions to fix the Mint App technology crash

Some Mint App users have taken to Twitter/X with their complaints about the application’s crash, reporting that their app isn’t opening.

@Mint responded in a Tweet stating that they apologize for any inconvenience and the team has now resolved the issue, advising:

“Please update your Mint app in the app store, and you should be able to proceed normally.”

However, many have reported that there is no update available for the Mint App.

Other users have also suggested using your browser to log in to Mint instead of the application.

Budgeting app Mint is folding into Credit Karma

As the Mint App service is set to be absorbed into Intuit’s Credit Karma, the 3.6 million current Mint customers will have the option to transfer their financial data to Credit Karma.

While Credit Karma’s financial service won’t include the same budgeting features as Mint, users will still be able to monitor monthly spending, and Credit Karma can use the Mint data to create a new Net Worth report.

If users currently have a Mint account and don’t want to transfer info to Credit Karma, they will have the option of downloading and deleting financial data from the service before it expires.

  • Gospel singer Bobbi Storm’s ‘mile-high’ performance is shut down by Delta flight attendant

Gospel singer Bobbi Storm’s ‘mile-high’ performance is shut down by Delta flight attendant

    [ad_1]

A gospel vocalist named Bobbi Storm’s ‘mile-high’ performance aboard a Delta Air Lines airplane is shut down by a flight attendant.

The Grammy-nominated singer was told that she would be ‘escorted’ from a flight after she refused to stop singing to passengers, and the viral video has sparked mixed reactions on social media.

Gospel singer Bobbi Storm’s airplane performance shut down

Bobbi Storm made several attempts to put on a show for travelers on board a Delta Air Lines flight until her performance was shut down by a member of the cabin crew.

The Detroit-born vocalist is currently aged 36 and features on the Grammy’s 2024 Best Gospel Album nominee The Maverick Way, by Christian group Maverick City Music.

An Instagram video, posted on @bobbi_storm’s official account, shows the singer attempting to serenade fellow passengers with her new single.

The footage begins with Storm standing out of her seat and speaking to the attendant, explaining her musical success, before being asked to return to her seat.

Eventually, the Grammy-nominated vocalist came close to being kicked off the flight after continuously ignoring the employee who asked her to stop performing.

Delta Air Lines flight attendant threatens to ‘escort’ singer off

Later in the video, the Delta flight attendant asks Bobbi Storm to be quiet, to which the singer asks if she is “going to go to jail” if she doesn’t, adding that she is “doing what the Lord is telling me to do”.

The flight attendant responds by saying: “I’m your flight leader, I need you to follow my instructions. My instructions are for you to answer my question. Are you able to be quiet right now?”

Storm then turns to the other passengers and asks them what they think of the situation, but she receives no response.

Finally, the attendant resorts to threatening Bobbi Storm, telling her: “If you’re not able to follow my instruction, you will not be taking this flight.”

The singer then agrees to stay quiet and once the attendant leaves, she turns around to say that she will sing quietly for the passengers at the back, before breaking into song.

Bobbi Storm also shared the viral clip on TikTok, writing in the caption:

“I’m glad I got to share this moment with people on this flight who embraced me and celebrated with me.”

    @bobbi_storm

Oooooooooi watching this back | have came a loooooooong way! | been into it with a flight attendant before in which resulted in a major airline calling to bribe me with miles and apologize and I wasn’t even singing on it…l was just black and she had a bad day. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I’m glad I got to share this moment with people on this flight that embraced me and celebrated with me. I want to post this for people who have momentary power… It gets us no where being nasty and I’ll leave that there! Blessings to you all from your #FearlessFlightSinger #TheMaverickWay #WeCantForgetHim #grammys

The viral video has gained more than 49,000 TikTok views along with over 2,000 likes and a comment section filled with mixed reactions.

In the comments of the Instagram video, a user named @bravostalking wrote:

“This is one of the most egotistical things I’ve ever seen. You think because you’re Grammy nominated that rules don’t apply to you and the plane is your stage?”

Another Instagram comment by @tthinkx suggested that the flight attendant was not in the wrong: “That man was doing his job and people on the flight paid to fly in peace.”

Over on TikTok, a comment by @Doug D shared their opinion: “Honestly, I would hate it if you did this lol. I need peace and quiet on the plane. Congrats though.”

@Sony B suggested that “there’s time and place for everything.”

Similarly, a user named @Sonja wrote: “Beautiful voice and congrats to her. But she has to follow rules and was out of line.”

    [ad_1]

Well-known theatre enthusiast Elphaba Doherty has been forced to confirm to her followers that she is still alive after rumors of her death began circulating on TikTok.

One can only imagine the shock that Elphaba Doherty felt as she checked her phone this past weekend, only to learn the news of her death from a now-viral TikTok posted on October 11. Taking to social media to rubbish the news, the aspiring actress blasted the perpetrators who helped accentuate the misleading rumors about her demise.

Elphaba Doherty debunks false death claims

The experience of having to watch the people of the internet react to the false news of your untimely death is undoubtedly a stressful one and Doherty, known affectionately to her fans as Elphaba, was quick to shut down anyone spreading such rumors about her.

Taking to her Instagram story on the handle @elphabaoriondoherty on October 12, Doherty wrote: “I AM NOT DEAD. The effing news are posting now. I’m trying to heal and people making this up makes me feel sick that people are fantasising over this like it’s a trend…”

Doherty proceeded to post a screenshot of a news story reporting on the rumors with the words “I’m not dead”, before assuring her 129,000 followers that she is “doing better” thanks to the support of her family.

The viral English star is known for her rather honest presence on social media and had recently taken a short break from Instagram due to illness.

Elphaba death claims first spread on TikTok

The false news of Doherty’s passing appeared to originate on TikTok, where it was claimed the young performer, whose persona is inspired by the Wicked character Elphaba Thropp, had passed away in hospital.

The video, which is still up on the platform at the time of writing on October 13, showed footage of Doherty talking to camera which the uploader claimed was filmed an hour before Doherty went into a coma and subsequently passed away.

Doherty has restricted comments on her TikTok and Instagram accounts since October, although a large number of videos are still made about her on TikTok, discussing her life and her latest activity online.

Doherty has not posted to her main account in over a year

Doherty has a combined following of over half a million across her two TikTok accounts, although she has not uploaded to her main profile in over a year after she was reportedly banned from accessing the account.

Doherty is known for her signature green witch look, and regularly makes public appearances in full witch regalia.

  • 7 best UK Christmas adverts of 2023 ranked and John Lewis doesn’t even come close

7 best UK Christmas adverts of 2023 ranked and John Lewis doesn’t even come close

    [ad_1]

It’s that time of year again. The battle of the UK Christmas adverts is back and here’s who I think has nabbed the top spot for 2023.

Let’s start by saying that M&S and John Lewis didn’t even make it into my top seven. They really fell short this year, but others made up for it.

    7. Morrisons

Just about making it onto the list is Morrisons who have brought us a funny advert where loads of oven gloves come to life and start singing Starships’ Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now. They get families in the festive spirit as they cook their Christmas dinners.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t78eboxmkM

    6. Waitrose

Waitrose opted for cheerful vibes with this year’s ad and it certainly paid off. It’s set at a Christmas house party and is full of amusing scenarios we can all relate to. Graham Norton makes an appearance and the fun doesn’t end when the power goes out.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyHauuJ6WeA

    5. Boots

Boots comes in at fifth with a lovely tale of a little girl who wants to buy presents for Santa. She crosses the world giving out gifts to everyone and eventually finds Father Christmas at the North Pole and throws a funny surprise down his chimney.

    4. Asda

Asda enlisted the help of none other than Michael Bublé with their Christmas advert and it’s a comical one. Two employees hear a bizarre gurgle and are stunned to find the singer when they go and investigate. Plus, there’s a funny pun at the end!

    3. Amazon

Third on the list is Amazon with a hilarious tale of three grannies going sledging. It’s not very Christmassy at all, but the elderly women ordering seat pads and having loads of fun in the snow definitely puts a smile on your face.

    2. Aldi

Just missing out on the top spot is Aldi. Kevin the Carrot and his friends are back again with a skit of Roald Dahl‘s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which is a real crowd-pleaser. Plus, the rude joke at the end is a funny touch that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCoPv4aedfU

    1. Lidl

Top of the list for me this year is Lidl. A heartwarming story of a racoon on a mission to make sure a young boy gets his cuddly toy is quite the tear-jerker. It’s a feel-good advert that really brings the spirit of Christmas and shows the impact of small acts of kindness.
