New ‘Inquire’ button on Instagram DMs confuses users

A new button with the word ‘Inquire’ has appeared on Instagram DMs and users are really confused about what it does.

    ‘Inquire’ button appears on Instagram

The word ‘Inquire’ started appearing in a blue box at the bottom of some people’s Instagram DM threads sometime in October.

People have taken to Reddit to try and get some answers, with one person writing: “When I opened the DMs it’s showing me two buttons on top. ‘Inquire’ and ‘View Profile’. What’s the inquire button for?”

“A few hours ago, I was having a conversation with a friend on IG, and suddenly these two buttons appeared on the top of our DM window,” another similarly said.

“I checked my other convos, even with business profiles, but they appear nowhere else. Any ideas on what is this and why it appears only on this specific DM?”

What does the ‘Inquire’ button do?

It looks like the feature is new and there’s limited information about it right now, but screenshots show it’s something to do with making appointments.

When ‘Inquire’ is clicked, you are asked to choose a date and time. An appointment request is then sent to that person in a direct message.

The message says “Your inquiry is pending” and the recipient is presumably asked to accept or decline the request.

It looks like the button only appears for business profiles.

HITC and GRV Media have reached out to Instagram for more information.

    Instagram’s ‘Appointments’ feature

It looks like it could be part of Instagram’s ‘Appointments’ feature which isn’t available for everyone right now.

“With Appointments on Instagram, businesses can book and manage customer appointments directly on Instagram,” the Meta site says.

“The tool provides a way to convert a conversation with a customer into an appointment,” Instagram continues.

It’s completely free and allows businesses to organise appointments with customers in a more convenient and engaging way.

If the feature is available, you can set it up by going to your inbox on a business profile and selecting a message thread.

Then, you tap the plus icon and select ‘Appointments’. Choose an appointment date and press ‘Schedule Appointment’.

Omegle has been shut down for good and people are sharing funny memes online as they mourn the video chat platform. The site let you socialise face-to-face with strangers and was popular with teens.

It has closed after 14 years following attacks on the social media site. Omegle gained a negative reputation with nudity, child safety and abuse and its owner, Leif K-Brooks, said that too many people “misused” it.

Omegle shuts down after 14 years

Omegle’s founder Leif K-Brooks shared a picture of its logo on a tombstone and said in a statement: “Omegle is no longer sustainable, financially nor psychologically. Frankly, I don’t want to have a heart attack in my 30s.”

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who used Omegle for positive purposes, and to everyone who contributed to the site’s success in any way. I’m so sorry I couldn’t keep fighting for you,” he added.

K-Brooks delved into the “barrage of attacks” Omegle has received “based on the behavior of a malicious subset of users.” People started “misusing” the platform and began to commit unspeakably heinous crimes.

Omegle was supposed to be a place for “meeting new people” with anonymity which made it less likely that a malicious person would track someone down after their chat ended, but was sadly used negatively.

Alex Cooper admits fallout with Sofia Franklyn has lasted 3 years as Call Her Daddy drama continues

    [ad_1]

Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper recently spoke about her 2020 drama with co-host Sofia Franklyn. Their fallout caused the latter to part ways with the podcast.

Host Alexandra Cooper sat down with Barstool Radio to discuss if she’s spoken to former co-host Sofia Franklyn. “I never spoke to her again after that,” the 29-year-old podcaster said.

The interviewer then asked if Alex would ever pick up the call if Sofia reached out.

“I don’t think she would ever reach out,” Alex replied. “There’s nothing to say.”

At this stage, she has been hosting the show on her own longer than she hosted it with former bestie Sofia.

She says that all she can think about is her podcast and that she’s in a new era. “It feels like so long ago that happened that I don’t think about it.” She also said that “sh*t was so bad behind-the-scenes” when the ex-roommates were hosting the podcast together.

What happened between Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn?

Call Her Daddy podcast was created in 2018 by Alex and Sofia who were best friends and roommates at the time. The podcast quickly moved under the Barstool Sports company. However, two years later, fans began noticing something was amiss with the podcast co-hosts.

Then, in a Call Her Daddy episode in May 2020, Barstool owner Dave Portnoy said that he had offered the co-hosts a $500,000 annual salary, bonuses, and six months off of their initial three-year contract. In Dave’s version of the story, Alex was in favor of the offer but Sofia was not. Behind the scenes, the co-hosts had disagreements about what role they each played in the podcast and what vision they had for its future.

Both Alex and Dave said that Sofia was more in favor of her then-boyfriend 38-year-old HBO Sport exec Peter Nelson getting them a better deal with another media firm. Commenting on this in 2023, Sofia said, “I was just trying to figure out, how are we going to make a decision that feels right for both of us?

In one of her videos at the time, Sofia also alleged her former bestie Alex was seeking more than 50/50 control of the podcast. She said that she did not want to be Alex’s “employee.” Finally, Alex left Barstool and moved her podcast over to Spotify in a $60 million three-year deal.

Alex dished on the issue in a 2020 video

Alex says at the start of the video that she got a raise over Sofia when they were still under Barstool because she did not do all the editing and marketing for the podcast. She also said that she spent more time editing the show than she and Sofia did while recording or editing it.

The Call Her Daddy host said “It got exhausting trying to appease” Sofia during the contract negotiations. It started to get really bad because it got all about money.”

She says that she wanted Call Her Daddy to remain and the duo was fine having 50-50 ownership.

“At the end of the day, I wanted Sofia to be happy. I wanted her to take the Barstool deal, but I also didn’t want to, like, force her into something she didn’t want. But at the end of the day, I really wanted her to take it with me.”

“You won’t believe what I found in the shops today. That’s right, it’s clear ketchup,” the TikTok user called UKSnackAttack says.

He then picks up a bottle of Heinz Ketchup but instead of containing the usual red sauce, it’s full of a clear liquid instead.

“All of the tasty tomato flavor and none of that ugly red color,” he says convincingly as he squeezes it out of the bottle.

The bottle even has a grey tomato on it instead of a red one to make the video seem realistic, but it’s all fake.

“Who else can’t stop eating the clear ketchup?!” he wrote in the caption before confirming: “Shame it’s a snackfish (catfish) and not real!”

The viral video has fooled lots of social media users, with one person asking: “What is ACTUALLY in it?”

“I ain’t eating that,” said another.

A third person added: “Looks like hand sanitizer!”

“We want to try this,” someone else wrote.

However, others knew it was a prank, with someone sarcastically saying: “Yeah only one bottle on the shelf. Looks very real.”

Man aboard ‘UFO’ hovering over Berkshires claimed telepathic contact with aliens

    [ad_1]

Several incidents allegedly involving aliens in UFOs hovering over Berkshires trace back to Labor Day from decades ago, and each of their encounters is rather spine-chilling.

The UFO sightings from September 1, 1969, are among the most-talked-about aerial phenomena and hundreds of witnesses shared a similar experience of being aboard the alien spacecraft that eventually returned them safely to earth.

Man claims to have been aboard UFO hovering in Berkshires

A man named Tom Warner is believed to have had the most startling experience with the extraterrestrials when the alleged incident occurred.

While speaking to a local news channel, Tom claimed he remembers everything distinctly from the night that became a significant part of American history.

He says he was lying on the ground when a beam of strange-colored lights was projected on him from an unidentified flying object.

“Twenty feet or more in height, probably about 30 to 40 feet around, and it had — as I’m looking now, I can see it — it had lights. The lights were colors I’d never seen in my life,” he recollected.

The alleged encounter was also featured on Netflix‘s Unsolved Mystery and it revealed that Tom was aboard a spaceship when he made telepathic contact with an alien. His narration was seconded by Debbie Shaw, who was Tom’s babysitter at the time.

Another family alleged encounter with aliens

Another man named Thomas Reed and his family also claimed to have had the strangest encounter with aliens during the UFO incident in 1969.

He and his family were crossing the Old Covered Bridge in Sheffield when they saw a saucer-shaped object “bigger than a football field” hovering in the air.

Even though Thomas tried to evade the object, it managed to engulf the car in light, after which they were allegedly pulled into a UFO.

The Netflix series further claims Thomas’s younger brother, Matthew, was the first to be taken aboard an alien ship in 1966. The members of the family were allegedly taken by the extraterrestrials and released again in 1969.

Despite its popularity, the supposed UFO incident lacks evidence and the only proof supporting the occurrence is oral accounts of people.

Unexplainable aerial phenomena that’ll blow your mind

For ages, UFO enthusiasts and ufologists have tried to understand strange occurrences that are beyond the comprehension of the average mind. There are many sightings like the one above that are mind-boggling.

Laidy Gutierrez and Daniel Alexander Bula Velasquez ordered $45 worth of Taco Bell via Uber Eats to satisfy their Friday night cravings. It seems the bear might have wanted it that little bit more, taking the food just minutes later.

Footage shared to TikTok showed the delivery driver placing the food at the doorstep before taking a photo as evidence of the successful delivery.

Moments later, a large black bear approached the home before grabbing the delivery bag with its mouth and walking off. It’s reported by Fox 35 Orlando that it later returned for the drink.

The second part of the footage shows the family opening the door, only to find no food present and an empty drink cup sprawled across the porch.

“The bear took the food,” an unsurprised Gutierrez could be heard saying.

According to Fox 35, the bear is a regular in the neighborhood and they even caught him on camera just days before. “Before they leave the house, and they open the door, they check the cameras,” explained niece Nicole Castro.

Tha family told Fox 35 that Uber Eats had already issued a refund for the food.

    Bears in Florida

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida black bears once occupied the entirety of Florida’s mainland, including some coastal islands and larger keys.

Today, bears occupy around 49% of their historic range.

This summer, bears were spotted through Central Florida including crowded metropolitan areas in Orlando, as per WUSF.

Experts have previously warned of the importance of not feeding bears to prevent them from becoming food-conditioned.

    Other videos of bears

Last month, a video of an Alaskan bear dubbed the “monster bear” racked up views online after a wildlife photographer captured a 1,500 lbs bear in its natural habitat.

The video left TikTok users scared by the sheer size of the bear, as covered by HITC.

Similarly, another video last month showed the heart-racing moment a cyclist in Alberta, Canada missed a charging bear by mere seconds.

    Teacher cuts student’s hair

In the viral video, a blonde-haired teacher in a yellow jacket tells a male student to “take a seat” on a chair at the front of the classroom.

She then starts cutting off bits of his hair using a pair of scissors and chucking them behind her extravagantly as she sings the national anthem.

The teacher cuts off a few more chunks and the pupil gets up. She then shouts “Next,” wanting another person to come and have their hair cut.

Nobody gets up and she firmly repeats “Next” before picking someone out herself and walking over to her with the scissors.

“Don’t touch me,” the girl says as the teacher grabs her long locks. She quickly breaks free and runs out of the classroom.

Everyone else screams and runs for the door too as the educator continues singing The Star-Spangled Banner loudly.

    Educator arrested after erratic behavior

The 52-year-old was arrested by the College of Sequoias District Police Department on suspicion of felony child endangerment in December 2018.

She was held at Tulare County’s pre-trial facility on $100,000 bail and charged with one count of false imprisonment, two counts of cruelty to a child, two counts of battery and one count of assault.

Gieszinger was then released from jail after two days, scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The results of the trial are not known.

Students told ABC television station KFSN that she entered the classroom with scissors in her hand and said it was “haircut day”.

Everyone was really confused by the bizarre behavior, including her husband who said: “Trying to figure it out myself, so I don’t know what happened.

“It’s not her. It’s not who she is. So I don’t know what was going on with her. I don’t have any clue as to why she did that.”

Another teen was being a ‘ding dong’

Gieszinger told police she intended to give a foreign exchange who was living at her home a haircut because he was being silly.

“She said that she had to do it for (the foreign exchange student) who had been acting like ‘a ding dong’,” the report said.

The teacher added that she got tired of his “ridiculous behavior” and denied that what she did was over the top.

“She said that she was sorry that (the other student’s) hair got cut, but that it was already done,” the police report added.

Crazy ‘anti-sleep’ lasers on Chinese highway light up night sky with bright colors

A video of some ‘anti-sleep’ lasers that was supposedly captured on a Chinese highway in 2022 has gone viral on Twitter this week.

The clip is being branded “terrifying” as people fear the lights will cause more accidents, while others say it reminds them of a famous video game.

In the viral video, a car is driving along an empty highway at night and you can see some bright lights flash on in the distance.

The multicolored beams cover the entire road before flashing off again. Then, they reappear in different colors and patterns.

As the car gets closer, you can see that the hues of blue, green, pink and red are being shone from eight bulbs on a bridge.

“A video captured on the Qingdao–Yinchuan Expressway displays vibrant laser lights hovering above the vehicles,” the caption says.

“Mr. Li, the person behind the camera, reported that these laser lights designed to combat fatigue quickly revitalized him and reduced his exhaustion during a prolonged nighttime.”

It was supposedly captured on December 31, 2022, and uploaded to Newsflare, who say the lights prevent drivers from falling asleep at the wheel.

It’s had more than 48 million views, but it’s not clear if the clip is actually real as there are no other videos of the lasers online.

It reminds people of a video game

In the comments, people are all in agreement that it looks like Rainbow Road from the popular video game Mario Kart.

Rainbow Road is the final course of the Special Cup in the Nintendo racing game, a course that’s set in space.

Drivers have to navigate through a bright rainbow-colored road with no sides that’s floating in the dark sky.

One person wrote on Twitter: “That’s wild, it’s the real world version of Rainbow Road.”

“Rainbow Road is real,” said another.

A third person added: “Rainbow Road? Say less.”

“What is this? It’s like Mario Kart!” a fourth tweeted.

    Lasers are ‘distracting’

Others are saying the lights wouldn’t actually keep you awake at all and would cause more harm than good.

“This would distract me,” someone said.

Another added: “Might cause epileptic seizures.”

“That is so disorientating,” a third person agreed.

Someone else wrote: “I think this will create more accidents.”

The video isn’t too clear to be certain about what you see, but the slowed version of the same within specific frames highlights the features of the unidentified creature – similar to a human with wings.

Fitting the conventional description of the fictional creature, the supposed fairy is glowing brightly and flying in the air.

The specifics of its source aren’t revealed and the video in question wasn’t cross-checked by anyone to believe it’s true.

Whether real or not, the mysterious creature on tape has surely divided TikTok users; some argue it’s real, while others say it’s just a wasp!

“I live in Ireland. That definitely looks real. I have seen many,” claimed one.

Android back buttons have stopped working on Facebook

Several users pointed out that the back button was simply not working while using the Facebook app. However, a few noted that the problem occurred after they updated the social networking app to its v439 version.

Many people across the world have run into this problem. Some pointed out how they had tried certain fixes like restarting the phone and uninstalling the app, but it still did not improve.

Some even pointed out how, after the back button on their Android was disabled, they were forced to use the back button on the top left corner of the app itself. One user went as far as to call it “grotesquely unintuitive.” At the time of writing, Facebook has not responded to any of the complaints on Twitter.

  • What is No Nut November 2023 and what are the rules?

What is No Nut November 2023 and what are the rules?

    [ad_1]

The internet has done it again. Just when you’ve heard about every challenge there is on TikTok and Twitter, a new and even more bizarre trend comes along. This time, it’s No Nut November.

    What is No Nut November?

Despite the crude name, No Nut November is an important staple of the yearly calender and the challenge is used to help raise awareness and funding for health issues related to prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health.

The annual challenge where men are encouraged to spend 30 days without touching themselves or otherwise known as ‘busting a nut’, hence the name of the trend.

The internet craze asks men to abstain from self pleasure as well as sex for the whole month of November. The challenge is believed to have started on Reddit forums in 2011 but it wasn’t until 2017 that it gained popularity across other social media platforms.

As per previous reports, No Nut November is linked to the NoFap community on Reddit, which encourages users not to touch themselves.

What are No Nut November rules for 2023?

Unfortunately, the first staple rule of NNN is that it is not for girls. Yeah, it’s one of those ‘boys only’ type clubs. Likewise, the strict ruling states that you do not have ‘three strikes’, and once you break one of the three holy-grail commands then it is game over.

So other than this, the rules are pretty straight forward:

    What is the ‘NNN pass’?

As per Urban Dictionary, the No Nut Pass allows a man to nut once during the month of No Nut November and continue the challenge.

The pass must be given to you by a woman and you can use it only once during the month of abstinence. There must be proof that you have received it.

Moreover, if you are born in November you do not need to follow the rules of No Nut November and can continue with your personal life as you normally do.
