Who Are The Marvel Villains Teased In The Deadpool 3 Trailer?

At long last, the trailer for «Deadpool 3» – titled «Deadpool & Wolverine» — has arrived, providing fans with plenty to get excited about: Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is seen officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the Time Variance Authority, there’s a brief tease of his team-up with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), and naturally, there are some big clues regarding the film’s antagonists. Both Alioth and Cassandra Nova are hinted at in the trailer, but who are these enemies of the Merc with a Mouth?

MCU fans should be familiar with Alioth, the massive cloud-like creature that guards the Void seen at the tail end of «Loki» Season 1. Classic Loki (Richard E. Grant) uses his godly powers to distract him long enough to allow Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) to reach the Citadel at the End of Time but is sadly consumed by the entity during this confrontation.

As for Nova, she’s an MCU newcomer, although she has quite an intriguing comics history, dating back to 2001’s «New X-Men» #114. Charles Xavier’s Mummudrai (a spirit who’s a person’s exact opposite), Nova is an immensely powerful telepath who seeks to destroy not just her «twin brother» for nearly killing her before his birth but all mutants. Her arguable darkest deed to date takes place on the island of Genosha, where she commands an army of Sentinels to murder roughly 16 million mutants.

Suffice it to say, Deadpool and Wolverine have their work cut out for them with Alioth and Nova alone. Worse yet, they’re not the only villains they have to contend with.

Alioth and Cassandra Nova are only the tip of the villain iceberg

Between Cassandra Nova’s dangerous telepathic abilities and Alioth’s sheer power, Deadpool and Wolverine are already in for the fight of their lives. Unfortunately, it appears they’re not the only villains the duo encounters in «Deadpool & Wolverine.» In the first trailer alone, Wade battles with TVA agents and even runs into John Allerdyce, aka Pyro (Aaron Stanford), who was last seen getting knocked out by Bobby Drake, aka Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), in 2006’s «X-Men: The Last Stand.»

Though they don’t pop up in the inaugural «Deadpool & Wolverine» teaser, other baddies from 20th Century Fox’s «X-Men» franchise are said to appear as well. First up is Sabretooth (Tyler Mane), whose spine-chilling death was spoiled by set photos in December 2023. It’s also rumored that his fellow Brotherhood of Mutants member Toad (Ray Park) will return in «Deadpool 3» — even though he should be dead. Time will tell what other threats Deadpool and Wolverine will face as they go off on their big-screen adventure, arriving in theaters on July 26.

  • The One Superman Costume That’s Way Too Wild For The DC Movie Universe

The One Superman Costume That’s Way Too Wild For The DC Movie Universe

    [ad_1]

The biggest problem with «Superman Red/Superman Blue» getting a big-screen adaptation in the future is mainstream audiences aren’t ready for the depth required to see it happen. So much needs to occur before it can be done, like Superman’s growth as a hero, power problems, and the introduction of a few big villains. Viewers haven’t even seen «Superman Legacy» star David Corenswet in costume yet. First, let’s see his Superman tackle some of his most notable enemies, such as Lex Luthor and Brainiac while defending Metropolis. DCU’s Man of Steel still has a long way to go before «Superman Red/Superman Blue» should even be considered, as it’s a needlessly convoluted story with no pressing need to be adapted.

If anything, the comic book tale is better served for a television series, such as «Superman & Lois,» which has tackled some storylines much more methodically, such as the Intergang and Bizarro, which happened after Superman experienced growth over multiple seasons. It can be a story-of-the-week or an ongoing arc on the small screen.

As a movie, it would likely take at least 3-4 installments even to consider the bizarre plotline in James Gunn’s DCU framework. Even still, logically, it might not work. Plus, there are so many more well-suited arcs, such as «All-Star Superman,» to adapt instead. For now, «Superman Red/Superman Blue» is best being left on the comic page.

The Back To The Future Star You Probably Didn’t Know Is Related To Zoey Deutch

    [ad_1]

The last few years of pop culture-focused discourse have focused on the idea of «nepo babies,» aka Hollywood talents who have received opportunities because of their famous parents. While we don’t know the ins and outs and struggles that Zoey Deutch faced in her early days as an actor, it’s fair to acknowledge that her parents afforded her opportunities that many might not get. From Lea Thompson’s POV, her daughter has had to deal with a lot in trying to establish her career. She told E! News that Deutch has had to cruise through more trials than she had to during her come-up.

Thompson has never shied away from praising Deutch, who began performing in her teens. «She’s faced more adversity and I think she’s a strong and incredible person,» she told the outlet. The «Back to the Future» icon added that she instilled the importance of work ethic very early on, letting her daughters know that everyone on set is equal.

Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch have another daughter, Madelyn Deutch, who is both an actor and writer. Thompson says she gave Madelyn the same advice she gave Zoey, adding that she feels immense joy when she hears that both her children are excelling on set. «Whenever I hear that Zoey or Maddie is great to work with, great to the crew and really an awesome team player,» she said, adding that hearing their praise makes her the proudest.

Zoey and Madelyn Deutch teamed up with their mom for the 2017 flick «The Year of Spectacular Men.» Zoey stars in the Thompson-directed film alongside Madelyn, who also wrote the picture.

  • Avatar 3 Features A Villain From The First Two Movies

Avatar 3 Features A Villain From The First Two Movies

    [ad_1]

Colonel Quaritch — also dead at the end of «Avatar,» and effectively revived when he becomes a Na’vi Recombinant — suffers a handy defeat at the end of «Avatar: The Way of Water.» In fact, save for Lyle Wainfleet, every member of his squad of Na’vi Recombinants is confirmed dead by the end of the second Avatar film. Quaritch himself, however, survives.

In a 2017 interview with Empire, about two-thirds of the way between the first and second Avatar movies, James Cameron announced that Quartich will remain his franchise’s main antagonist through all five planned entries. «The Way of Water,» notably, establishes a complex relationship between the colonel and his benevolent son Spider (Jack Champion), which should color his character moving forward.

That said, the confirmation that Matt Gerald’s Wainfleet is returning in «Avatar 3» provides some further insight into Quartich’s expected character arc. Wainfleet — lacking any sort of familial connection to his Na’vi enemies — will likely serve as Spider’s opposite, pulling Quaritch away from the human compassion he feels for his son and toward violence.

Since «Narcos» presented a lot more promise, Pedro Pascal said had no choice but to leave the nondescript «Daredevil» role behind for his key turn as Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Javier Peña, which effectively catapulted the actor’s career to a whole new level. «I was going to test for that role, and so, to intercept the test, they ended up offering me ‘Narcos,’» the actor said. «It was like Netflix against Netflix.»

Apart from television, Pascal has had breakthrough success in films, too, with starring roles in «Kingsman: The Golden Circle» in 2017 and «The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent — opposite Nicolas Cage played a heightened version of himself — in 2022. On top of that, the makers of the «Star Wars» franchise have announced that a Mandalorian and Grogu live-action movie is coming soon.

As fate would have it, Marvel Studios eventually made Netflix’s «Daredevil» as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon. So, if his rumored «Fantastic Four» casting proves to be true, it’s conceivable that Pascal could finally cross paths with the Man Without Fear someday.

  • This Frozen 3 Theory Could Ruin The Franchise

This Frozen 3 Theory Could Ruin The Franchise

    [ad_1]

Let’s start with one easy detail: fire. As the original theory pointed out, Anna is often coupled with the elemental fire power attribute due to her warm-weather birthday. The obvious problem here? There already is a fired-up spirit in the «Frozen» universe. Remember that harmless-looking little salamander from the sequel? Yeah, that’s Bruni. The undersized character already fills the role of the elemental spirit of fire in his world. Having Anna also get fire powers would only be redundant now that Bruni’s in the picture.

The other obvious issue with Anna getting powers was pointed out in the original theory, as well, when u/LockAndKey989 elaborated, «Elsa and Anna are supposed to be the bridge between magical and human worlds. That’s why Elsa has powers and lives in the forest while Anna becomes queen of Arendelle.» This is pointed out by Elsa as well, and it’s the state of things when «Frozen II» ends. Anna is the new queen of her very human people. At this point, it’s clear that her humanity is an important part of her fitting leadership. In contrast, Elsa’s magical nature made her feel out of place on the throne.

In a highly upvoted comment beneath the primary post, Redditor u/Falathrin added, «I also feel it wouldn’t be as impactful since we already have Elsa with magic powers.» Falathrin compares it to Pocahontas, adding that in that case the character getting powers would be unique. With Anna, it would just be more of the same.

All of this doesn’t even touch on the sheer logistical nightmare that having fire powers in a very wooden human settlement could create. If Anna gets fire powers, does she burn down Arendelle as a result?

  • What Does AT-AT Stand For?

    What Does AT-AT Stand For?

    [ad_1]

Since their introduction back in 1980, AT-ATs have become a widely adored form of «Star Wars» vehicle. They’ve maintained a constant presence in toy aisles, reemerged in multiple modern «Star Wars» projects, and have even taken their place as one of the most iconic fictional forms of transportation ever created. This may be all well and good, but the Empire’s legendary All Terrain Armored Transports have also found themselves at the center of a nerdy controversy over the years. Fans can’t seem to agree on the pronunciation of the AT-AT acronym.

As evidenced by a Reddit thread on the subject from u/RedPresto, two camps have been in conflict with one another over the past few decades. Some feel each letter in AT-AT should be stated when saying the name, «ay-tee-ay-tee.» Meanwhile, others believe the proper pronunciation is to take the acronym and turn it into the word «at» twice, «at-at.» Which is right? According to longtime «Star Wars» creative Dave Filoni during an interview at Star Wars Celebration 2016, both pronunciations are correct in his eyes. After all, he was the protégé of franchise mastermind George Lucas, who Mark Hamill confirmed wasn’t much of a stickler for name pronunciations back in the day.

Despite the input from «Star Wars» creatives, surely, fans will continue to debate the «right» way to say AT-AT for years to come. Of course, if they want to avoid the debate entirely and take the long way around, they can always just call them All Terrain Armored Transports.

  • The New Mortal Kombat Movie Has To Avoid This Johnny Cage Mistake

The New Mortal Kombat Movie Has To Avoid This Johnny Cage Mistake

    [ad_1]

Karl Urban plays Johnny Cage in «Mortal Kombat 2,» and honestly, that just might be the best thing that can happen to the character. As he’s demonstrated time and time again in roles like Billy Butcher on «The Boys,» Skurge in «Thor: Ragnarok,» Éomer in «The Lord of the Rings» movies, and Dr. McCoy in the Kelvin timeline «Star Trek» movies, Urban is an expert at portraying comparative everymen who find themselves in the middle of fantastic events. He may be just the perfect guy to bring everyone’s favorite obnoxious movie star Kombatant to life.

In the other corner, however, is the way the 2021 «Mortal Kombat» movie handles its characters’ powers. The film essentially treats the assorted fighters’ special abilities as «Arcana» superpowers that can be awakened with adequate focus and training. This makes pretty much every major character a «chosen one» archetype, which is precisely the thing that should be avoided when it comes to Cage.

Casting «The Boys»-era Urban in the role is a pretty clear sign that the movie fully intends to embrace the character’s snarky side, and the actor’s CV makes it pretty clear that he has what it takes to deliver a Johnny Cage for the ages. Knowing this, even with the whole «Arcana» thing at play, there’s a decent chance that whatever weird powers this Mr. Cage may or may not unlock won’t magically change his underdog status … if only because the first movie already played that card with Cole Young (Lewis Tan).

Blake Lively’s Transformation From Gossip Girl To Motherhood

    [ad_1]

Since marrying in 2012, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have had four children in total. The first of these was born in 2014, with subsequent children arriving in 2016, 2019, and 2023 respectively. While the couple closely guard the privacy of their children, preferring to keep them out of the public eye for the most part, they have revealed the names of three of the four kids — James, Inez, and Betty.

Speaking to Forbes, Lively explained how having children has helped her to accept her own body image and be more comfortable with who she is. «I think having children, for me, made me feel so much more in my skin. I never felt more myself or at ease in my own body or more confident,» she said. «Not to say that there aren’t a bevy of insecurities coming at me a million times a day, but I just feel incredibly settled.»

In the same interview, the actor hinted that motherhood has also given her a new perspective on life and why she is picky when it comes to working on new projects. She explained, «I just think that growing up, having kids, all of those things made me feel like I only want to do things where I can have really meaningful collaborations and have authorship.»

  • The 5 Best Trailers From The 2024 Super Bowl, Ranked

The 5 Best Trailers From The 2024 Super Bowl, Ranked

    [ad_1]

If the world wasn’t fully aware of how funny Ryan Gosling could be under the right circumstances, his sublime performance in «Barbie» should’ve clarified that further. It’s that turn as the dunderheaded lover of horses and the beach that bumps any glimpse of «The Fall Guy» from being «one to look out for» to «absolutely essential.» Locking in a balance of action and comedy with extra Taylor Swift, he looks to be going for laughs again, with added car chases and dangerous boat handling. Also, unicorns.

In the trailer titled «Everything,» the newest preview for the David Leitch-directed film is crammed with great little moments that make Gosling’s high-octane outing look worth the admission. Here, his sexy bacon stuntman, Colt Seavers, surfs down a highway on a car door, bickers with old flame and film director Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), and reports the concerning issue of an ice crime. Compared to some of the other big movies on show during Super Bowl LVIII, this might go under the radar for some, but then the best surprise hits always do. It’s also one of the biggest risks. As a reboot of the 1980s TV show, «The Fall Guy» mostly has the names on the cast list to carry it, so a successful run in theaters will be a stunt in and of itself. We’ll see if «The Fall Guy» sticks the landing when it arrives on May 3, 2024.

  • Madame Web Director Seems To Confirm Two Crucial Spider-Man Characters Do Appear

Madame Web Director Seems To Confirm Two Crucial Spider-Man Characters Do Appear

    [ad_1]

Sony has made multiple «Venom» movies and «Morbius» with even more projects on the way, including «Kraven the Hunter.» The studio’s going through Spider-Man adjacent characters without having a confirmed Spidey to go up against them at some point. With it now being heavily implied that «Madame Web» has Ben and Mary Parker involved in some capacity, we’re finally making progress on having a Spider-Man join the franchise at some point. Fan theories have swirled with possibilities of which variant it could be, so what are the chances Peter himself will appear in «Madame Web?»

The answer is pretty unlikely. It’s been confirmed that «Madame Web» takes place in 2003. With «Venom» and «Morbius» more set during the modern day, this makes «Madame Web» a prequel of sorts. This would add up if Adam Scott is actually playing Ben Parker, as he’s significantly younger than how Ben is typically portrayed in «Spider-Man» media. The same holds true if Emma Roberts is Mary Parker. In fact, Mary could easily be pregnant with Peter during the events of «Madame Web.» This could still make Peter roughly a teenager during the events of «Venom» and the other Sony-verse movies, giving the franchise its Spider-Man at long last.

On the off-chance fans see Peter Parker, he will probably be a baby at most. Fans will just have to wait for Valentine’s Day to see how «Madame Web» adds to the franchise’s mythos and whether it sets the stage for Spider-Man to finally swing into action.

  • Why Leonardo DiCaprio Had A Problem With Meryl Streep’s Don’t Look Up Nude Scene

Why Leonardo DiCaprio Had A Problem With Meryl Streep’s Don’t Look Up Nude Scene

    [ad_1]

Apart from the idea of Meryl Streep participating in a nude scene — in which President Janie Orlean’s bare bottom is exposed — Adam McKay said Leonardo DiCaprio also objected to a tattoo positioned just above his co-star’s posterior. The director had to assure the actor that Streep was merely playing a character and seemed on board with the creative decision. Apart from a double stepping in for shots revealing more explicit nudity, Streep participates in the scene with some well-coordinated shots that cover up her body yet imply she is naked.

«He didn’t like seeing her with the lower back tattoo, walking for a second naked,» McKay recalled. «He said something to me like: ‘Do you really need to show that?’ And I was like: ‘It’s President Orlean; it’s not Meryl Streep.’ But she didn’t even blink. She didn’t even bring it up.»

While Streep didn’t blink at the suggestion that her character was nude in «Don’t Look Up,» all the eyes belonging to the cast members were wide open and in awe of her presence, DiCaprio noted at the film’s red carpet premiere. «»Everyone was on their toes when Meryl walked in, as we should be,» DiCaprio told Access Hollywood. The actor did not bring up his objection to Streep’s nude scene in the interview, though — that was apparently was a conversation he only shared with McKay.

«Don’t Look Up,» which serves as a climate change allegory examining the oblivious indifference to the threat by politicians, celebrities, and the general public, boasts an all-star cast that also includes Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, and Tyler Perry.

Deadpool 3 Has An Incredible Hulk Easter Egg Only Marvel Fanatics Caught

    [ad_1]

After Pingo Doce became canonical in the MCU in «The Incredible Hulk,» ads for the drink have popped up in a few subsequent film and TV projects. These include «Ant-Man,» «What If…?,» and «I Am Groot.»

However, arguably the biggest reason the fictional soda’s footprint in the MCU is steadily growing is its prominence at the Avengers Campus sections of certain Disneyland theme parks. One of its attractions is the Pym Test Kitchen, a restaurant featuring menu items that appear to have been grown or shrunk in a lab. Pingo Doce is available in a standard soda cup courtesy of a modified Coca-Cola Freestyle machine or a large novelty Pingo Doce can.

So, while the Pingo Doce bottle in the «Deadpool & Wolverine» trailer is a fun Easter egg for big-time Marvel heads, Disney may also hope the reference sells a few more novelty cans at its theme parks.

The Wicked Trailer Finally Dropped At The Super Bowl & Fans Are Not Holding Back

    [ad_1]

There are also plenty of — mostly good-natured — jabs and jokes about the «Wicked» trailer, which aired while the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers faced off during Super Bowl LVIII.

Comedian @MattBellassai pointed out that the trailer was meant for a super-specific audience, writing, «they aired the ‘Wicked’ trailer at the beginning of the super bowl to keep gay people busy for the rest of the night. like dangling musical theater keys.» @tveitidk posted a photo of Jason Kelce, rapper Ice Spice, and pop superstar Taylor Swift in a VIP box mid-discussion, adding a quippy caption: «this is what theatre kids looked like discussing the ‘Wicked’ trailer after it dropped.» @katereinking took the «theatre kid» throughline and ran with it, saying, «The ‘Wicked’ trailer dropping before the 7pm curtains is the most theatre kid thing THANK YOU @wickedmovie.»

Others, like film critic Guy Lodge, question whether the movie will be as big as everyone expects, citing one of Jon M. Chu’s previous films. «Wicked’ trailer is reminding me of when so many of you tried to claim that ‘In the Heights,’ a film that absolutely does not exist, would be some kind of seismic cultural event.» Then, some fans came after the way the film is marketed — from the way it looks, to the fact that it’s story will be spread across two feature-length films.

The 5 Best Star Wars Books You Can Read On Kindle Right Now

    [ad_1]

You’d think that with so much new, canonical Thrawn material to choose from, we could finally leave Timothy Zahn’s original Legends trilogy off of a list like this one. And yet, against the odds, «Heir to the Empire» remains a necessary inclusion more than 30 years after its 1991 debut.

Even if you’ve never read the book, you’re probably aware of the story’s broad strokes. A little-known Imperial grand admiral named Mitth’raw’nuruodo, or Thrawn, for short, returns after the defeat of Emperor Palpatine and launches an attack against the recently christened New Republic. Though the Expanded Universe existed in various forms prior to Zahn’s first «Star Wars» novel, this is where things begin in earnest. It’s a fantastic example of ’90s pulp sci-fi, and, as time has gone on, it’s become an increasingly curious historical touchstone for where Disney has taken the franchise.

Thrawn’s canonical arc across «Star Wars Rebels,» «Ahsoka,» and Zahn’s more recent reboot novels is distinct in countless ways from the original «Heir to the Empire» story, but those contemporary texts all exist in conversation with their predecessor. The following two books — «Dark Force Rising» and «The Last Command» — are also still worth checking out if you enjoy «Heir,» but the first book is of unique interest today because of its specific influences on the modern era of «Star Wars.» It’s also, simply put, better than Zahn’s later Grand Admiral Thrawn books, canon or otherwise.

Why Brad Pitt Almost Quit One Of His Most Iconic ’90s Movies After A Table Read

    [ad_1]

Where «Legends of the Fall» ranks among the best Brad Pitt movies is up for debate. However, the Western was well-received by audiences and can be credited as one of the A-list star’s most notable early performances. That said, getting that standout turn out of Pitt was difficult for Edward Zwick, as he believes the actor was reluctant to show emotion due to his masculine upbringing and desire to emphasize his cowboy character’s madness. This caused the director to push his star to open up, leading to intimidating outbursts on set.

«Brad wasn’t about to give in without a fight,» Zwick describes. «In his defense, I was pushing him to do something he felt was either wrong for the character, or more ‘emo’ than he wanted to appear on-screen. I don’t know who yelled first, who swore, or who threw the first chair. Me, maybe? But when we looked up, the crew had disappeared. And this wasn’t the last time it happened.»

While it seems that Zwick and Pitt had a hostile relationship on set, they didn’t stay mad at each other for too long. The director claims they always made up after their disputes, and they even got high when they sat down together to record a commentary track for the film’s home media release.

The last time we saw Wade at the end of «Deadpool 2,» he was jumping around his timeline thanks to the transporter device he stole from Cable (Josh Brolin). It was there he shot the muted version of himself in «X-Men Origins: Wolverine» and saved beloved X-Force member Peter (Rob Delaney) from certain death. Now, though, with the surprise appearance of Shatterstar, are we to presume that Wade went back and saved other X-Force members after their botched mission? If so, has Wade wandering through time and potentially saving his former ally led the TVA to call him into service and fix whatever he’s wrecked?

Should Wade be sent to put things right, there’s a chance that Shatterstar might find himself as another bleak punchline, just as he was before. If it’s not death by helicopter propellor, might the TVA be trying to iron out any comic-book-movie kinks causing issues that lead to an anomaly like Shatterstar disappearing from existence altogether in a «Back to the Future» style? Honestly, it’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make. But if they so much as touch a hair on the head of that sugar bear, Peter, there will be riots in the streets. That’s an X-Force member we really can’t live without, and we can only hope he makes it through the carnage when «Deadpool & Wolverine» arrives in theatres on July 26.

While Robert Shaw and Roy Scheider passed away in 1978 and 2008, respectively, one remaining member of the shark-hunting trio remains: Richard Dreyfuss. Dreyfuss is fondly remembered for his memorable performance as Matt Hooper, the obsessive marine biologist and oceanographer who tags along with Brody and Shaw on the ORCA to hunt down the marauding Great White. Hooper’s intelligence and witty personality can get the better of him at times, but his passion for his work is nevertheless admirable. Outside of a brief mention in «Jaws 2,» Hooper never returned for any of the «Jaws» sequels.

Dreyfuss’ career continued to flourish in the late 1970s, starring in Steven Spielberg’s 1977 sci-fi extravaganza, «Close Encounters of the Third Kind.» Dreyfuss also took home an Academy Award for his lead role in 1977’s «The Goodbye Girl.» He continued to star in notable movies including «Stand By Me,» «Always,» «James and the Giant Peach,» and «Mr. Holland’s Opus,» the latter of which earned him another best actor Oscar nomination. The 76-year-old actor remains active in the industry to this day with numerous upcoming projects, including the World War II drama «Nate & Al» and another shark-centric thriller, «Into the Deep.»

  • Small Details You Missed In The Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer

Small Details You Missed In The Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer

    [ad_1]

The first teaser trailer for «Deadpool & Wolverine» doesn’t open on a big action scene, but in Wade Wilson’s apartment in a quiet moment among friends. It’s Wade’s birthday, and many of his mutant mates are present. Colossus and Yukio are there, and so are his more ordinary pals like Dopinder. However, there’s one friend shown at the party who really shouldn’t be there — Shatterstar.

Played by Lewis Tan in «Deadpool 2,» Shatterstar was a member of Wade’s newly-formed X-Force team, which also included Domino (Zazie Beetz), Bedlam (Terry Crews), Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard), Vanisher (Brad Pitt), and Peter (Rob Delaney). In a memorable moment, nearly every member of the group is killed during the team’s first mission, including Shatterstar. While Peter did survive — and does show up at Wade’s party in the trailer — Shatterstar was turned to mush when he landed in the spinning blades of a helicopter.

Seeing Shatterstar back (once again played by Tan) in «Deadpool & Wolverine» doesn’t necessarily mean he’s come back to life. Given the presence of the TVA, it’s more likely that the opening moment of the trailer actually takes place in an alternate timeline. This also begs the question — is this an alternate version of Deadpool? It’s certainly possible, but considering how Wade is immediately confronted by TVA agents could mean this is our Deadpool, but in a different universe. If that’s true, then the real question is what prompted Wade to live in an alternate timeline.
