TikTok users were left ‘confused’ and ‘scared’ after a well-known influencer and spiritual guru suggested that he had drowned.
William Knight (@grandrisingapp) boasts an impressive 1.6m followers on TikTok and a further 145k followers on Instagram. His brand of spiritual content resonates with fans who often applaud his unique sense of style and guided meditations.
Knight also operates his Grand Rising app, which offers users daily affirmations. According to the App Store, “Grand Rising was designed to send you specialized reminders to help you align with your dream life throughout the day. Every single thought that we have every single day is an affirmation.”
Earlier this week, Knight posted a carousel of images to his bustling TikTok account, with the first showing him in his iconic wide-brimmed hat. Beneath the first picture, another social media user had written, “It’s so sad this guy drowned, he was kinda funny.”
The next image showed a screenshot of an obituary-style post featuring Knight and a crying anime character, leading fans to question whether the shocking post was real. The following few images showed Knight in all-black and brandishing enormous similarly-coloured angel wings.

Captioning the post, he wrote: “There is no such thing as a coincidence, the fact that you’re watching this video means you are energetically aligned with me and this message. Listen to my Guided meditation to shift to your Dream Reality.”
Naturally, fans questioned whether the news of his death was real.

What did the fans say?
“Is this not his account?!” one person wrote, to which another responded, “It is, he’s in his faking my death era.”
“NOT THE BRIM REAPER NOOO,” another wrote, referencing Knight’s wide-brimmed hat. “Its originally called grim reaper the just said brim reaper bc he had a hat where the brim went all the way around.”
Another follower added: “Don’t do that scared me for a sec I don’t follow u heavily but I do know of u. I always fw thé drip.”
“I was genuinely concerned don’t do that,” someone else said, which another person replied, “I was worried for a minute there, yeah let’s not do this again.”
